  1. We too would love to have my wife's sister/mother/father visit for a few weeks but we don't hold any hope of getting a tourist visa for a Filipino who isn't wealthy. I find it a shame that honest hard working people from many countries throughout the world find it nearly impossible to visit their families in the US yet we allow a visa for a convicted kidnapper who has additional convictions of theft and fraud. Although Canada denied a visa to Winnie Mandela, she was allowed to visit New York a couple of weeks ago.

  2. I am curious to see what solution is rendered in this situation. Will it differ from rgular Joe Bloe's (ewi/overstay/or whatever legal infraction occurred)wife?

    Daniel

    :energetic:

I just read that an immigration judge lifted the deportation order and a government lawyer said the judge's review of her residency status could put her on track for a chance to become a U.S. citizen.

Rank and power does indeed have its priveleges...

The Democratic senator from Goergia is listed as being a supporter of "immigration rights". As a previous poster said, this is a catch phrase for blanket amnesty of illegal aliens.

  3. I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. My efforts at finding the answer by conducting a search proved futile. Here's the scenario:

The non-USC and her son arrived in the US over three years ago and they have, within the past 4-5 months, been granted Permanent Resident status. The legal adoption process of her minor child by her husband, a USC, was just completed. Does this adoption automatically confer US citizenship to the minor adopted child?

  4. We submitted the I-485 and I-765 at the same time last May and both were received on May 24, 2006. Mary Ann had her biometrics done a couple of weeks later in Omaha. We've been checking her online status, waiting for news of her I-765 approval. It currently shows processing dates in Omaha for applications received as of June 12 and only confirms a date of receipt - May 24. Today we received an NOA advising her of a September 22 interview date.

My question is this: Is it normal to receive the NOA for the interview prior to receiving the I-485 approval?

  5. Using the convenient physician locator, I was able to find a single local provider here in my community. Unfortunately, when I contacted his office, I was advised that "the doctor only provides full physicals" and they refused to provide an I-693A. I couldn't believe the response and asked for an explanation. I was told that the doctor places his signature on the form and will only do so when he has personally completed the entire physical (for the full fee, of course!). Well, Plan B now requires us to make an 90-mile round trip to the next nearest doctor...

  6. I never thought myself to be a complete idiot, but it seems one must be a rocket scientist to figure out how to complete these forms, where to file, and all the little steps to take just to accomplish what tens of thousands do each month by simply strolling across the border...

Anyway, we're filing the I-485 and the I-765 together after our recent marriage (finally!) after our 15-month K-1 struggle. I'm confused as to the proper category on line 16 of the I-765. It appears that C9 is the approrpiate designation. Is this correct?

Now if we can locate a Civil Surgeon somewhere nearby - there apparently isn't one in my community of 30,000 and the neatrest city is 120 miles from here...

    Thanks people!
