  1. You're not stupid, You just probably have never had to jump through bureaucratic process before (like most of us). Follow the guide for the K-1 package on this site, make sure you sign and date every thing, make sure you send all 4 G-325A forms. The guide on this site is pretty helpful. Just triple check everything make sure nothing is left for uscis to question. There is no limit to the supporting evidence that you may send. Visa stamps, boarding passes, photos w/ dates, persons, and locale are all good supporting evidence. Most of the people on this sight are very helpful and will give you their honest, sometimes brutal opinions, but yet this site is an indispensable resource. Good luck with your package, take your time putting it together, I know you want to send it as fast as possible but take a week or two and make sure you feel comfortable and confident you have all your ducks in a row so to speak. Good luck!

THANK YOU ALL!!!! I didn't get the paper work in yesterday because of a concern I had. ( am am calm today and have a level head!!!!!) Thank god for Julie she told me once we talked when she got up that I need to just take my time make sure it is done right and everything will be ok..........ok here are the 2 concerns I had with the remaining 2 questions I have : 1) on the 325 & letter of intent from her she did them and emailed them to me of coarse I printed them and put them in the packet but people are now telling me they have to be original signatures? is that correct? 2) my divorce papers: can I just send the papers or do I have to get a certified copy of it?

  3. Thank you!!!....do I need to send the letter of intent from both of us or is it just me?

    BOTH of you... Please read the guide carefully;

    #5 says:

Original statements (from both the US Citizen and foreign fiance) certifying an intent to marry within 90 days of entering the US on a valid K-1.

SORRY...I read it 3 times already I believe I have it all now together now..........I hope!!!!!!.....thank you everybody for all your help

  4. ok ....so I am putting in (or trying to) do all the paperwork today but I am getting so confused now!!!! what do I need to send in right now i know the cover letter, the I-129, letter of intent (do i need to send one from me and one from her???), the passport photos, photos of us, copy of my airline tickets, the $$$$, divorce decree, and a copy of my birth certificate...... now here is where I am getting confused ( I just think I i am so worried that I will miss something that I am reading way to much!!!)...lol.......

do I need to send the:

    1) I-134 now with my last 3 years of tax returns?

    2) the letter of intent from Julie?

    3) the pictures of us?

    4) phone bills & emails?

    5) the G325?

please help I am just burnt out right now and cant even think straight!!!

Very wrong time not to think straight, mistakes can be very costly.

You don't need the tax return forms at this stage, they are meant to be taken to the interview. You will definitely need to send the letter of intent from both of you. You need to definitely send picture which show the both of you together if they have dates on them, within the last 2 yrs. Phone bills and emails are for the interview stage and the G-325A is needed as well.

Just calm down and sort it out, so do it when you are not stressed or burnt out. All the best.

THANK YOU !!!!....I just dont want to make a mistake at all!!!!! I am sure everyone can understand

  10. Hello everyone!!!! I am just getting started with getting the K1 application together I have everything but a copy of my divorce papers which I was told I will be receiving at the beginning of the week!!!! My fiancee is telling me that she is having a hard time getting her birth certificate through NSO because she lost the one she got a couple of years ago when she got her passport. Has anyone heard of this or have any advice on what she should do?

that's a bit odd for me, coz i got my bc from the NSO twice w/ no problems at all... pertaining there's no error on her bc.

did she tells you that the NSO is giving her a hard time getting? what did the NSO asking her to do?... usually you just go to any NSO and fill up some forms to request your bc and some city like mine they will process it right away and if its not too crowded, you'll get the bc in an hour or so... same as the cenomar... i hope she'll get it next time... let us now what the NSO did to her so we'll be aware of it here on VJ (since i never heard of this before)

edit to add: btw, when we sent our I-129 i only gave them a copy of my bc (the original is for the embassy during the interview) so i hope she'll have a photocopy of it.

a friend of hers is helping her...so when she gets up in the morning I will ask her exactly what happened and will post it for everyone.....i really didnt think it would be a problem like u said just go down there fill out the papers and pay.......i was there last week and I told her we should do it while I was there and we didn't get the chance...i knew I should have held her hand through it

Note, the I-129F only requires proof of US Citizenship which is the US Citizen's birth cert, passport, or naturalization cert. Foreign citizen's birth cert is needed for the visa interview, not when filing the I-129F.

You have time to get this straightened out while the I-129F is in process.

we were trying to get all our ducks in a row early so there would be no rushing around at the last minute
