Wow! Where to begin... my DH and I met online (yes, I know) and instantly made a connection. We "dated" for a few months, then decided I should come for a visit. I flew to Paris on Valentine's Day weekend 2009, and we met in person for the first time. It was amazing and wonderful - we knew then that we would do whatever we needed to do to be together. He asked me to marry him that weekend, and I said yes. We set the date for May 26 2009, and began filing the necessary paperwork to get married in France. After a couple of heart-stopping moments, all was prepared and we knew it would happen on our day. I made our wedding invitations by hand, and we sent them to our family and close friends. My daughter was my maid of honor, and flew in just before the wedding. The wedding was beautiful, with his family and friends, and my daughter, and our family in the US connected by cell. Every couple should be this much in love! When it came time to leave, it was heartbreaking. We were both crying and I almost fainted in the airport (and believe me I am not the fainting type). I was ready to drop everything and move to France, but we decided it would be best for him to come and visit while we were going through the process. DH came here on August 13, 2009, and we were all set to spend a wonderful 3 months together before he went back to France. At the time, we both thought we would be able to handle the separation, but the longer we were together the more we realized it would be just impossible. We were very naive about the process and the fees involved, and should have done our homework first, but we were in love... Once he got here, we went to an attorney after reading about the process and deciding it was too much for us both to do on our own. We filed our first paperwork for AOS, I130, I131, and I765 on November 12 and the attorney overnighted the forms to make sure they were received by Nov 13. They received them and we had our appointment for biometrics on Dec. 10. Now we are just waiting to hear about the next step...
