  1. When sending a N-400 to TSC and being serviced by the Memphis Field Office, where does one send a request for an expedite???

    1. TSC?

    2. Memphis Field Office?

    or Both?

Has anybody asked for an Expedite? Care to share?

    Thanks for your input.

Realize that, even if you somehow get the processing of the N-400 expedited, the law says that you are not eligible for naturalization until you have completed at least three full years as a LPR. You can send the N-400 in up to 90 days before you're eligible for naturalization, assuming you meet the other requirements. In effect, you can give the N-400 a 90 day "head start", so that if they process it in less than 90 days, you'll have to wait until you finish your entire continuous residence requirement before you can be naturalized.

You make a good point. Thank you. I have already taken that into consideration.

  2. This morning received e mail from USCIS saying card production ordered on Apr. 24, 2007.

Sent I-751 to TSC by FedEx on Dec. 6, 2006, and received by TSC on Dec. 7, 2006, so 138 days from receipt until card production ordered, or 4.6 months.

How long does it normally take from time card production ordered until receipt of card?

    Best of luck to everyone.

  3. If a LPR has her permanent residence in Atlanta, but plans to go to college in Nashville and leases an apartment in Nashville, is the LPR upon moving into the apartment required by law to file an AR-11 showing her move to the temporary address in Nashville? If so, which address does the USCIS consider to be her address of record, the permanent one in Atlanta or the temporary one in Nashville?

  4. Has anybody ever had any luck changing the time of a biometrics appointment by using infopass to make an appointment and getting it done then, or just showing up later than the appointed time and getting the biometrics done?

Problem we have is the biometrics appointment is 8 am and we live about 2 hours away. Its a whole lot easier to show up at 10 am and miss the morning rush.

    Thanks for your input.

  5. Please let me know if you found anything out on the topic yet.

We are looking at a similar issue. I guess the major question is if the federal employer "deploys" you to the overseas station or not. Soldiers in the military get orders for that. However when you look at the federal job offers for civilians to work for the military, there is usually clearly stated that no relocation expenses are being paid, which could indicate that it is not equivalent to a military overseas deployment.

Anyway, just another pointer: mostly those jobs are for US citizens exclusively. So your husband wouldn't qualify for that.

Tweety, that is not correct. Some of them are and some of them are not. Not all are for U.S. citizens exclusively.

  6. K1 visa holder (I-29F filed at TSC) comes to U.S. in May 2003, and files I-485 at New Orleans office in January 2004, and adjustment interview takes place in New Orleans office in December 2004. The interviewer at New Orleans has A-file. K1 adjusts status and becomes LPR in December 2004.

Question: After AOS interview, where did the A-file go? Where was it stored?

Now its time for LPR and her husband to file I-751 at TSC to remove conditions.

Does anybody know if the A-File is kept at TSC or, if not, where it is requested from to be sent to TSC?

    Any information will be appreciated.

  7. I would use permanent residence in Jefferson.

I work at a college, and the college makes a distinction between home residence and temporary housing when considering residency rates.

Besides, there can be strong penalties for not filing an AR-11 with in the 10 days.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, if you use the permanent address in Jefferson,

    how do you answer:

Part 3, Question 9,"Have you resided at any other address since you became a permanent resident?"(If yes, attach a list of all).

  8. K1 visa holder comes to US, marries her fiancé within 90 days, and files

I-485 in 1/04, and I-485 is adjudicated, and two year green card is issued to LPR on 12/15/04.

Now its time for LPR and her husband to file I-751 to remove conditions.

LPR permanent residence is in Jefferson. LPR starting in 6/2004 has gone to college in Madison, having two temporary apt addresses. LPR has never filed an AR-11. LPR still has permanent home residence in Jefferson.

    What should LPR do now:

    * Which address does LPR put on I-751, permanent address or college address?

    * File one or two AR-11?

Note: Both Jefferson and Madison are in TSC.
