The VFS office that my fianc went to in Mumbai did not take the affidavit of support or proof of our relationship. Now he has to take all that to the interview. But, it was unusual for them not to take the financial support documents. I hope you now found the right VFS office.

Hope you are enjoying the states and having a wonderful time. I am still waiting for my fiances visa. It seems to be on the last stages. They told him he was approved during his 2nd interview. But, then we were put in the dreaded AP.

Yes they can accept the father as a co-sponser. Someone also from Mumbai did this and they accepted it. Also, a family friends of our had the same situation, and Mumbai still approved his visa. As long as your cosponser meets the poverty guidelines you should be ok. Mumbai is not as bad as Delhi.

Congrats on AOS filing. They returned his passport back and now he is in AP. Told him to wait until he gets a letter to submit passport.
