For marriage, instructions clearly state, the last three years for IRS tax returns. Preferably joint returns, but married filling separately with a common IRS address for both of you should suffice as well. We just brought in our latest jointly owned goodies like vehicles and a house, certainly can't bring in proof who legally owns the toaster, latest joint insurance, bank accounts, and utility bills all showing joint coverage and ownership. No problems for us. Also anything legal like a drivers' license showing we are living in the same home, property tax bills, loans. Must have both names on it with a common address. Stuff like that.

A jointly made baby is very good evidence.

Yeah, I get the tax things - all years we've been married. When you say "our latest jointly owned goodies", "latest joint insurance, bank accounts, and utility bills", do you mean just the time after sending the I-751, or should I go back to the beginning with all of that? That was my real question, which I wasn't very clear about...(it's one of those days) I mean, I guess it wouldn't hurt to send our mortgage information in again, but what about bills and statements and stuff?

Do I just need to start where I left off with the ROC?

Sigh... I would LOVE to have a jointly made baby as evidence....

I just sent in my paperwork and i sent in three yrs tax returns, birth certificate our marriage certificate and i threw in a recent bill in my husband's name and 2 bills in my name, a recent copy of our bank statement with both our names on it..... and i put in a copy of my drivers license... but didnt send his copy of the drivers license.. but i sent both of the copies when we lifted conditions...

That's right, if he is in his first marriage, the answer is "1".

I put my "A" number on every piece of paperwork I sent in. This way if it gets separated from the packet they can easily find where it goes.

I did NOT include a cover letter. But you should if asking for any kind of waiver or special requests. (disability, fee waiver, interpreter, etc...)

The p.o. box is for regular mail, the street address is for express and courier. I sent certified mail with return receipt to the p.o. box and they got it just fine.

So my questions are as follows...

Part 8: Information About your spouse

Question G: how many times has you current spouse been married(including annulled marraiges)

he has been only been married to me so is the Answer to that question going to be 1.

Did you guys put your A-No. on all the paper work you sent? Did u guys send in a cover letter?

and the last question is Should i send in the application to the P.O Box or the other addresss... I am planning tothe paper work as fast as possible thru the USPS (postoffice)

Any help will be appreciated...

Can i wear earrings when they take my picture cause if i am not mistaken i read somewhere on the uscis website tht shouldnt wear earrings...

I will be sending 2 pictures,

copy of my green card

husband Birth certificate

marriage certificate,

some bills,

mortgage and bank statements

and turbox tax returns for last 3 yrs

and ofcourse the check...

Can we have our picture taken with our earings on?? Cause i think i remember reading somewhere that we cannot wear our earings for pictures for the USCIS?

I applied towards Jan 15 2008 and my application was approved on dec 17 2008...well as usual... the uscis is always slow when it comes to processing our applications

the envelope that green card arrives looks a junk mail.. the first time i recieved my green card i was about to pitch it thinking it was junk mail...

I didn't keep track of the exact dates, but we applied at the end of October. Actually, we applied in early October, but they rejected my first check because they couldn't read the date (I guess) and said it was more than 6 months old. Our application was accepted (with a new check) around 10/24 or so. She got the biometrics appointment about 3 weeks later, then went and got fingerprinted. The naturalization interview letter came yesterday, so just over two months after the N-400 was accepted. I'm impressed with the speed considering lots of bad past experiences with INS in Arizona.

Can anyone tell me approximately how often oath ceremonies are held? My wife just got her Interview letter today , and I'm wondering about how long after that interview she will actually be sworn in. We're in Charlotte, NC. I've seen a month or so in some signatures but wondered what your experience was.

After such a long 11 months wait, you deserve it! It's good to know that the VSC is doing something, even if it takes a long long time. Too bad though, you couldn't get a refund for the I-751, as you only have the 10yr card for a short time now.

Oh well, onto the next stage of citizenship for you, Karenros!

Yeah i recieved an email from the uscis saying that my card has been approved... I put in the wrong wedding date.. put the church wedding date instead of the Civil service.. but they do know about the church wedding since day one...

i am so exicted that i couldnt stop jumping.. i sent in my application in jan 2008 to TSC and the transferred to VSC and then had my biometrics in feb 23 2008 and didnt hear anything from them until today..

Yeah i recieved an email from the uscis saying that my card has been approved... I put in the wrong wedding date.. put the church wedding date instead of the Civil service.. but they do know about the church wedding since day one...

i am so exicted that i couldnt stop jumping.. i sent in my application in jan 2008 to TSC and the transferred to VSC and then had my biometrics in feb 23 2008 and didnt hear anything from them until today..

I would also include a copy of you and your husbands driver licence.. cause it also shows them that you are living together
