Like thousands of other Vietnamese refugees who came to USA after the fall of Saigon in 1975, I have been living in California for almost 30 years. I have always traveled on my vacation to other countries except for Vietnam. I don't know why, but I just did not want to. The idea of marrying someone in Vietnam had never crossed my mind. I may have heard some horrible stories about Vietnamese women who want to marry someone from US just to get out of the country. Last year, I finally took my first vacation to the country where I was born and raised until 17yrs of age. I could not believe Vietnam is a beautiful country (what do I know after 30 years right!!!). Vy was introduced to me by a family friend of my brother. She is a grade school teacher in Ho Chi Minh city when I met her. We met for the first time at the school where she teaches young kids then after that I would meet her after school every other day to go out for dinner or coffee talk. Vy is a special kind of woman. She is intelligent and possess great tradition of Vietnamese women. She is a very caring and loving person.
