i have very important question for you guys. my wife came to usa two weeks ago and still she did not receive her social security number. as far as i under stood the process of immigration, the social security comes by mail in two weeks because of the option in form ds-230 to register for social security number. do you think that i should visit local SS office now?

has anyone experienced delay in arrival of SS number??

congrats on visa interview. yes you do have to submitt medical examination package to VFS. it is required by consulate to sumbmit to VFS. my suggestion is to you that have you examination done three weeks prior to interview date so if there is any issue comes up, then there will be enough time to manage it.

it is better to take all the copied of document that you have submitted to the NVC and USCIS when you go to VFS office because you dont know what the guy gonna ask for (they are not consistant) and you dont want to make another trip to just submit medical result and rewuired documents.

well, the stamp on my passport is kind of different. actually it just aa words nothing like circule or triange shape just pure words and its says "applicant advised of the provisions of section 216 and of the procedures for having the conditional baisis of his/her status removed by 9/18/09" date is written by hand by officer at POE." is this ok ??

My concern would be that it says you must remove conditions by 9/18/09, which is two days before the POE...

EDIT: Oh I see... your passport says that, not your wife's?

i made mistake, the date is 9/18/2011. would it be ok if there is no date of entry in passport??

1. how long do we have to wait for social security card?

2. port of entry in usa was Newark airport. when i saw that passport there is no stamp of entry, the only stamp on the passport is for when is ur CR1 expires but there is not date of entry or something similar...is this a normal or there is a problem. please let me know if u have same kind of stamping. thanks as always,

you have to be there in order to issue either passport office PCC or district PCC.

When is your interview scheduled? Mine is on September 22nd. I have one question. I married my husband, who is divorced and have 3 kids but the kids live with his ex-wife and not with him. The kids are the dependents as per his IRS Tax return. How will it affect my interview? Do you think the CO will ask me why did I married a guy who is divorced with 3 kids? Please let me know your opinion or any one reading this.

Should I send in a photocopy of the local PCC as Ahmadabad office asks for original local PCC before issuing Regional PCC?

Just send the photocopy. you will need your original locall pcc to get passport office PCC. just mention on the cover letter that you will bring original at time of interview.

Yes, this is what i did, i just submitted photocopy of local pcc. stated in the cover letter that original passport clearance certificate will be shown at the time of interview and it went through without any problem. if you have time, then i suggest to u to get the passport clearance certificate and send it with ds-230. all you have to do is just bring your local pcc to Ganthinagar and have signed by officer over there and then bring the local pcc to pasport office to get passport office PCC. if u have local pcc signed by ganthinagar office then passport office will only ask you any NVC letter which shows name and address of applicant. i have described the procedure in this thread which explains how to get passport office clearance certitificate without interview letter. so if u have time you can get PCC before you send ur ds-230.

If you have submitted part 1 and part II here in NVC then you dont have to submitt it again. VFS office might ask just for a photocopy. you do not need to fill it out again. when my wife went to vfs office, she was asked to submitt photo copy of part I. dont worry about it just have the photo copy of par I and part II when your wife to VFS office.

notorizes does not considered as certified. you better send origonal marriage certificate. certified copy means it issued my goverment....something like that.....but notarized would not be accepted as certified.

yes most probably you will get DS-3032 and Aos Fee bill documents end of this week or on Monday. It wont take long once the case # assigned. good luck to both of u

yes i did not submitt any pcc with ds-230. i just state in the cover letter that pcc would be shown at the time of interview.

she was asked to submitt PCC (local and passport office). what i am saying is that if there is any document missing in the file they would ask for it.

my wife most probably coming between september 10 through september 15. she want to stay there untill october 2, i guess that is not possible after all these hassel we are doing to make process fast!!!

do know wheather we need income tax clearance certificate of not??? i have heard that when you abroad at Ahmedabad air port u need have income clearance certificate. (this is the certificate that confirms that a person going abroad do not owe any taxes to indian goverment). i am not sure its needed or not so i am confused let me know if u have any information. this certificate has nothing to do with interview so dont worry.
