  4. USAIN JUST BROKE THE WORLD RECORD

    9.58 BABY!

I was watching and it was so amazing!!! Usain will beat his own record many more times to come, I think when he is ready to retire from track he will prob do 9.3. It was nice to see him win a World Championship for JA; Asafa did wicked as well, he is usually very nervous but today he was calm and it helped him take the bronze!

  5. So what's everyone reading this summer?

I've been going through a book a week, I love summer reading. Anyway, the one I'm reading now is called "Digging to America" by Anne Tyler, my Mom bought it for me and it's so good. It's about how immigrants feel in America, how they adjust, and how you don't really 'belong' here, but you no longer belong in your home country either....

    This seems interesting!!

  6. It's all about your intention at your entry to the U.S.A, if you do decide while (not before the visit) you are visiting him to get married it is up to you to PROVE that you had no intentions of staying upon your last entry. Getting married in the U.S.A. is not illegal, many people get married and then apply for a spousal visa such as K-3 or CR-1. Getting married with the intention to stay while visiting and adjust status from that of a visitor is fraud.

    :guides:

So what your saying is I cant marry my fiance while I visit him if we decided thats what we wanted to do. In Canada you can marry and apply from within Canada while your spouse lives with you. Is this different in the US?

In Canada you can apply as common law so you wouldnt need to get married at all and you can do all the pprwork here, but the US has the fiance or marriage VISA and their are lots of requirements that have to be met.

I don't know about the Canadian immigration procedures so I will not comment on that.

No I am not saying you can't marry your fiance. It is what you decide to do afterwards immigration wise that is the problem.

It's all about what your intentions are. Unfortunately the immigration process for most people involves separation from their fiance or husband. Some people do legitimately get married while on visitors status. But that is because there plans have changed WHILE they in the U.S.A. Most of those people had or have loose ends in their home country to tie up, and unfortunately can be very costly to not be able to travel back to their home country without an Advance Parole document, (which usually takes 3 months) because they would be denied entry upon returning without it while their application for AOS is pending. The burden of proof will be laid on you to prove that you did not have intentions to immigrate at your last entry, at your AOS interview.

If you decide 2 weeks before you are planning to visit your fiance that when you visit him or her that you are going to get married AND move and stay in the U.S.A on that visit, then that is visa fraud.

    Great summary

  7. In all seriousness, this happens each and every day. The only reason that this case received any media coverage is undoubtedly her family or friends reached out to the media in an effort to embarass the Canadian govt. into action. Immigration fraud is a legitimate problem that most western nations face each and every day. Is this scenario an indictment on the whole system? Certainly not. Furthermore, to draw a conclussion on an entire nation because of these actions is naive. Personal experiences aside, It's a bit of a strech to condemn a nation because of this.

The CDN gov't embarassed themselves, they simply let the world on it!

No, I think the agents who inspected her paperwork failed in their due dilligence, but I don't think their oversight is an embarassment on the entire country.

But they were backed by Ottawa, Ottawa told the officers that she was an imposter and revoked her passport.

  9. congrats jg on ur oldest graduation..

and im sure there was something else i meant to comment on but i can't remember sorry..

Ha ha.........First thing to go, Quana!

Anyone watching hurricane developments.......This current storm will probably be a named storm in a few days. Looks like it's weak and will die out to sea. It's well north east of Jamaica.

New wave off the coast of Africa came up yesterday. This one they are saying should be watched more closely. And, heading further south. Jamaica would at the very least get some rain if it develops.

I'm sort of a weather groupie during hurricane season if you all can't tell!

congrats jg on ur oldest graduation..

and im sure there was something else i meant to comment on but i can't remember sorry..

He's got to make it through this school year first.

jg reporting live from st. louis

  10. I went down to the walkin clinic the other day and they had a lineup. So I left my application with the receptionist so she could ask one of the doctors there if I could use his name as guarantor. Went back and hour later..."No problem.

Dr. O said you could use his name."

That is excellent, now all you have to do is order and ur on ur way!! So u can apply on line and get the 10/15 day guarantee!

  11. Dillon, she's been through a lot since you started this process too. She went from being the center of your attention to not in a pretty short time. She has this new man in her life when she hasn't really known a father figure in her life, right? And, now the little boy. It's a lot for a child to take in all at once.

You need to just keep reinforcing that you love her and how important she will always be to you and the family. But, also how important Mikel and his son are as well. And, you do have to continue to punish her for bad behavior. She has to know what is unacceptable.

If all else fails, you may have to get her a little therapy to deal with it all.

I'm sorry, girlie. I wish you only the best here.

Right on the money JG. Dills, Marley had her own personality back when I met her at age 2. Give her time...children really can't process that the world does not revolve around them in their little minds. Right now, she knows that her world has been turned upside down and inside out...and mommie's covers were moving. Try not to get frustrated with her...she is trying to show discontent with HER new WORLD...I really don't think she is personally trying to be disrespectful.

jawi.. :luv: dats why u my girl!

one more week.. i can't wait to see the arrival pics.. PLEASSEE tell me u will put at least one on VJ.. i don't have FB..

I will try to send one to your email address. But, I honestly feel that VJ has served its purpose for me.

    Respect, Jawi! Always, Respect!!!!!! (L)

    For you too my friend.

Jawi, you have a wonderful man - I can just imagine the amount of pain you are in, and my neck injury was no where near the level of yours - Hang in there and stay strong, one more week until your love is home!!

I'm still in constant pain...the meds are doing nothing but making me depressed. I'm excited about him coming even though I don't know what we will do about eating everyday since he can't cook. LOL

Very nice post, did you find your phone?

Yeah...forgot to mention that. It was hiding under my sunglasses on the passenger seat of my car.

Ok good, happy you found it!

  12. I'm really offended by your comments about our country. To say the situation wasn't a very good one is one thing, to put the worlds shame and Canada in the same sentence is another.

You know, if this were the US, no one would think twice and this wouldn't even be a news story. Because in America, people believe that the government should do everything to protect it's citizens at all costs.

I truly believe that Canadian Immigration and BP Services does the best job they can to protect the citizens of this country on a daily basis. A few people had the wrong suspicions but that is a part of the border protection process and I'm sure it happens all the time.

I'm disappointed in your comments, Cali, and it's my opinion that they are out of order. It appears you are taking your personal feelings about Canada and intertwining them with this story to make the conclusion that Canada is doomed and Canadians aren't good people.

You are always offended when someone offends Canada, but the border reps representative Canada so.........

I can always count on you to assume and put ur own spin on things , you totally right that if I was American it wouldnt have made news but if it were American I prob wouldnt think anything of it as I am not American I am Canadian.

Didnt say anything about Canadians, Charlotte was right w her post the other day people don't read.

    and who is Cali?

  13. Ok - I'll say it. Let's put the shoe on the other foot, shall we?

Perhaps - things weren't what they seemed, perhaps the Cdn official had some doubt as to her identity. Wouldn't we prefer them to keep our country safe by thoroughly checking anyone entering Canada? C'mon guys - dont jump the gun and say Canada is horrible and wrong and blah blah blah because something happened.

Duh, they profile, as if we didn't all think they did. We ALL do...we make assumptions based on what we know, not great, but we all do. Now I don't see this as being either racist or profiling - the official may have just been down right dumb!

I can personally comment on a situation from my past - it is well known that there are some immigrants from some African countries who attempt to get here (US or Canada) illegally. (turned out my daughter's father was one ). I am not saying anything against anyone of African descent so please don't bother going down that road. There are documented instances where people come under 1 name, are deported and return under anotehr assumed name. Feel free to watch the Dateline episode on that.

I dunno - maybe the dude was hyper aware of that, who knows.

Just my 2 cents for today

It is a known fact that illegal immigrants try and cross all the time, but they usually have one piece of ID not numerous pieces and don't usually offer fingerprinting samples.....

  14. I agree should have been faster. But if they find someone with a "forged" passport they have to be be detained. And I dont imagine the jails are as nice over there as they are here, lol And yes, we don't know all the facts.

As her home country they should have done some investigating and tried to protect her before alienating her from her child and having her deal w those conditions for months, she could have immigrated to a country in that amt of time.

As I said before they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt on this one, it is shameful for a country like Canada to take such extreme measures.

  15. Where are the facts that they were wrong at first? Yes they were proven wrong in the end by DNA. I'm no expert with regards to Kenya, but i'm lead to belive it isnt a technology advanced place. Just doing a quick google check, a DNA test can take 2-4 weeks. Unlike TV shows such as CSI, test results are not immediately available.

And do border guards "profile" people?? I'm sure they do, as their is actual facts that state certain people from certain countries are more likely to attempt to gain illegal entry into a country. Don't get mad at the people enforcing the rules, get angry at the people that are breaking them, and giving those people a bad reputation.

As I stated before, it could have been handled better and a bit faster, but ur not going to see lightning fast results as one sees on TV.

Not sure what you mean by "Canada doesnt deserve the benefit of doubt on this one?" I'm not trying to be ignorant, were all allowed our opinions. Canada owes it citizens a safe place to live, and if they believe someone is in possession of an illegal document, it is within in their right to act, but could have been a bit faster. Hopefully they will learn from this and others should check their passport pic to see if it still a valid looking picture.

While I pretty much agree with you flames - I mean what do we know about the facts really - I do believe that this woman was not treated with respect. She should have been presumed innocent until proven guilty - not thrown in jail.

She is a canadian citizen, regardless of where she was born she is a citizen of Canada. Canada called her an imposter and cancelled her passport, is that normal?

  16. i am trying to hang in there. i haven't spoken to her tonight and she knows to stay away. i have been crying a lot tonightg and have just been in my room thinking about what i can do to change her behavior.

Dillon, she's been through a lot since you started this process too. She went from being the center of your attention to not in a pretty short time. I'm sorry, girlie. I wish you only the best here.

I agree, also alone time with just you and her with help ease much of the anger/confusion she is feeling as well.

Life is tough, there is always something new thrown into the mix.

  17. I have never felt so much in a partnership with any other man I have dated before A. I know I worried a lot of you when I made the statement about taking more than the recommended dosage of meds to stop the pain. I appreciate the prayers, and I am starting to feel more like my happy jubilant self again because of all of your love and support.

I am still in pain...but now I'm about to cry out in prayer. You guys gave me back the strength to pray, and I love each of you for it.

Back to A. I told him what I posted when he called and I just started crying and told him that I was so tired...just tired. He got angry at first and started preaching at me...then it hit him and he started crying. He told me baby just hold on...I'm coming home...we will fight this together. You are not alone...this is our fight together until one of us gets called home the right way...by God. He told me that he will get as many jobs as he has to if I have to take disability...he just doesn't want me to think about leaving him and our kids.

He asked me not to ever say something like that again because it was selfish...and I wasn't thinking about how much pain those people that love me would be in if something happened to me. He cried so hard that he ended up getting a headache.

I called him back last night and told him thank you for letting me know that we truly are a team and it is not a one-sided relationship where the woman is responsible for holding things together. He told me that love doesn't require a thank you.

    :ot:

I also wanted to apologize to JaPrincess publicly. I could have done this through PM, but I wanted to let all of you know that I am capable of admitting my mistakes. I think that you are a wonderful person, full of joy and optimism. I pray that your relationship is ordained and blessed by the most High. I have to be mindful of my friends' feelings, even in my truth. I wasn't trying to question your relationship, but in hindsight I realized that I basically called you a liar. For that, I am sorry.

When I thought about what Mr. JaP told you...I found it unbelievable...but I didn't consider that not everyone is going to be the best poet. What matters is what feelings he was expressing to you. Most of my friends are males, and most are not eloquent in their normal conversations...so that's why I thought the poet in you cleaned it up to reflect what he was trying to express to you.

I myself am guilty of being a person that is in love with being in love...until I get bored. I am a hopeless romantic realist. My self discovery allowed me to see that in my past relationships, I wasn't truly in love with the man I was with...but more in love with the newness of the love relationship...the untapped possibilities. It explained why it was always so easy for me to walk away unscathed. Yeah, I shed a few tears...but nothing that would cause me to loose myself in another person. I have managed to stay friends with several of the guys I dated. I feel blessed that my eldest son's father respects me enough to alter his entire life to take care of me and my boys since October 2008.

All this to say, I am still a work in progress. I strongly believe in "to thine ownself be true"...but I could have approached this situation between me and JaP another way if I had questions about certain things. I hope that you can forgive me.

    Jawi

Very nice post, did you find your phone?

  18. This is just stupid!!!! Canada is absolutely disgusting!! I am extremely ashamed to be a part of this backward country! People can walk into our country on a daily basis but a CDN citizen has to be DNA tested to get back home!

I hope she sues the pants off Canada!

canada isn't backwards, they have timbits.

on the other hand, the usa doesn't.

    Timbits suck, eat a donut!

  19. Ok so I took some pictures and here they are.

First of all, this is the house that was kitty corner to our house in Florida - I didn't post a pic before because I figure it was too identifiable - but it really is a pretty cool house - I never saw the person that lives there. Across the street from it are two small white houses which he also owns and rents out - guess they were the servants quarters?

    Floridaandtriptocanada005-1.jpg

In case you have ever wondered what the inside of a Upack trailer looks like - this is it - oh and use a relocube instead of a trailer if you don't like a fine black dust on a lot of stuff.

    Floridaandtriptocanada009.jpg

    Floridaandtriptocanada016.jpg

My camera seems to be over exposing - whateva! Anyway, look what's coming up!

    Floridaandtriptocanada020-1.jpg

Yay, Tim Hortons - a picture of a sign about a doughnut!!

    Floridaandtriptocanada021-1.jpg

    Another sign!

    Floridaandtriptocanada022-1.jpg

Took this one so you guys could place your orders

    Floridaandtriptocanada023.jpg

Yes, I even took a picture inside - these are your fellow Canadians

    Floridaandtriptocanada024-1.jpg

A picture of the doughnut I ate - as promised!

    Floridaandtriptocanada026-1.jpg

We were almost at the Alberta border with Saskatchewan when we saw a police officer in the middle of the highway, he didn't signal at all, just smiled at us when we stopped - we were so busy noticing him that it took a minute to notice this:

    Floridaandtriptocanada029-1.jpg

Nice pics, Timmies out west treats you guys better than east we dont have iced lattes out here!

  20. Not sure why this is racist?? has anyone seen what her passport pic looked like in comparison to her?? Their is a lot of passport fraud in the world. Now the govt could have been a lot faster at sorting this out, but we all know the govt only acts fats when they want $$$$,lol And I would think when they do find someone with a "stolen" passport, they would arrest them. But as I stated before, it could have been handled better.

It was definitely a biased situation, there is not way it should have taken that long and a DNA test #######??????? I am sure everyone that comes into Canada w a fake passport doesnt go thru DNA testing that takes three months.

Canada does not deserve the benefit of the doubt in this one!!!

    They are dead WRONG!!!!

  21. I am a CDN citizen born and raised so don't feel too bad! Canada needs lots of help they are trying though I can give them that much, but they have a long way to go!!!

I will not give examples at this forum takes things way too personal and I don't have the energy to debate with anyone as it won't make a difference, at the end of the day the country needs a major revamp!

I wasn't questioning your citizenship moni. So no debate, that's fine - while I personally find your post offensive, you are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Oh don't take it offensively, I just think it is disgusting what she went through and I mean for a so called upstanding country like Canada to do this, it leaves an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Your a CDN citizen you show all your ID and they say ur lips dont match that is the craziest ish I have ever heard!!!
