  1. hi everyone its been a while since my last post here but now im back...I have questions please just answer whoever knows it:

i am married in a US citizen i received my permanent greencard last October 2011 then i went back to the Philippines November 2011.to study nursing which is the big mistake that me and my husband make because i cant really take the board here in US particularly California because they are strict now,

in November 2011 i also received my re entry permit then after of 2 years without going back in US because i have a re entry permit although my husband went back and forth to Philippines.

stay in Philippines November 13,2011 to November 11, 2013. now that im here almost 1 year when do i can apply my naturalization.

thank u for the help guy.

  2. hi everyone hoping someone could answer my question..this question is for my dearest cousin, she just wanted to know when to submit documents for naturalization or becoming citizen ...she got married to us citizen last june 2009..stay in US from june 2009 until November 6, 2011 the reason shes outside US is she went back to school to study however she did apply re entry permit...this is allowable 2years outside US ...so she will be coming back in US this November 2013 and still very much married with her husband is the one support in her studies until she graduate.

on entering US does she need anything to present in order to enter in US?

and when to apply her citizenship?

    thank u

  4. Hi all my girl had her name changed (because it was to long) about 12 years ago when she was about 15yrs. old. I know she will need the docs for this and she says they are at her moms house about 10hr drive from where she lives. The embassy website says to bring name change docs to the Interview but on some things that I read it says that it should be sent in with the I 129F. Can we wait and take it in to the embassy or do I have to mail it with the I 129F? It would be better if we can wait she has a ID card and passport in the new name only her birth cert wil be in the old name. any advice?

is her name is legally changed...then you need to send together in your i129f just send the photocopy of it and when she has interview she needs to present the original copy of the name change.hope this helps.

  5. hi everyone who lives near cypress, cerritos, buena park, carson, artesia, lakewood or nearby areas...i just wonder if we can gather here and when we have time maybe we could meet sometime.thanks.

  6. Hey VJ folks ---

My fiance had his second interview today, and YES!! The nice consular officer said they will give him back his passport .. with a visa.. in 10 days!

I am so so so amazed and excited. I can't really comprehend that this might be over, and that he will be here soon. I don't have too many details, as I'd talked to him after he'd been at the embassy for 7 hours (last one left haha), but he said that when he tried to show them the proof of our ongoing relationship, they smiled and said, don't worry, we know your fiance cares from her thousands of emails! haha. I'm glad to know they remembered :)

Anyways, just a shout out there that this can end - even after 14 hard months of AP. I hope that nobody has to wait as long..long enough to not be able to believe that it can finish, even now. But in retrospect, it will just be a blip in -inshallah/hopefully- will be many more years filled with adventures and mundane daily life. I can't wait to introduce him to all my family, eat breakfast with him, show him how to make waffles..or, even better, how to make me waffles

Thanks again to the forum folks for writing their stories and continuous encouragement. It has really been an invaluable source of support for me over this last year +. I'll write with an update (I still, somehow doubt that the visa will be printed..I can't believe it) after 10 days, and will try to keep in touch.

For those still on AP, stay strong. You are stronger than this system, then these bureaucratic delays and inefficiencies. And not putting its flaws aside, it will end. I'll continue to hold all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

    congrats.goodluck

  7. Hello there,

on g-325a form should i put my maiden name or my married name? i have a social security number with my maiden name from the last year do i need to change it ,too? thanks a lot :)

mine i used my married name in AOS.ss number on my maiden name..went to ss to change my maiden name into married name but the ss employee tells me to return once i get my EAD or GC.

at least you have SS number now thats the important thing.goodluck on your AOS journey.

  8. My husband and I are SO excited! I received our NOA2 today, on our second wedding anniversary!! What a great present and how cool is that??

So another step down. We can't wait to be together again! Can anyone give an approx time frame as to how long the rest of this goes until he can move here to the US? Thanks! I wish everyone the best of luck!

    Hugs,

    Julie

    Michigan

    congratulations.

  9. Hey guys,

Dani and I just got our NOA2 notice today, (the day before my birthday!) while I am visiting her here in FL. Our I-129f was approved in 146 days.

We'd like to keep this moving along as fast as possible of course, after this trip I likely won't be able to see her again until I get the Visa so it will be a long stretch. (I know not nearly as long as some of the members on here!) We're hoping to possibly be together before Christmas, is this realistic? Any tips/suggestions on what we should start getting prepared for what comes next would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Todd & Dani

Congratulations. start gather all your documents needed for interview.goodluck

  10. It is a nice sentiment to think will will work it out, but this is the second time I have filed a k-1 for her. It will not work out nor do I wish it to at this point. My best wishes to all though who do complete this process...

i feel sorry for that.your fiancee must write a letter to USEM explaining that she wants to get her passport and you guys will not pursuing your application.hope this helps.

  11. What is Address C/O on the I-485?

USCIS Status? Nonimmigrant I guess if its a k-1 or should I say K-1?

If there is no criminal history do I still need a police report?

    Thanks

do you want to submit your aos?assuming you will file for AOS:

    File at:

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 805887

    For courier/express delivery:

    no

  12. hello guys,

just want to make sure that i can travel with just passport,NOA(from my AOS) and marriage license..cuz some of the VJERS told me i can travel but need to have a VALID ID (which i dont have)just my passport(on my maiden name)..?

can i travel..?LAS VEGAS TO CALIFORNIA

    thanks..

yes u can travel from las vegas to california and vice versa just bring your passport with your 194,marriage certificate and noa from your aos then you should be fine.coz i came from here california and i travel to las vegas.....missing las vegas actually its a nice place.have fun.take care.

  13. My husband and I just got married 2 weeks ago in California and are about to send in our AOS package. I have 2 questions please!!

    1) We went to the DMV yesterday so he could get his Temp Drivers License and they wouldn't give it to him because his I-94 was going to expire on Aug 27th. They said we needed to come 2 months before the passport expires. So here is my question. In order for him to get a license, he needs to have an updated passport or I-94 I guess? Also, it said we could have an approved NOA. So... how long does it take to get an approval? Did anyone else run into this problem? I can't believe he won't be able to drive this whole time. Do they send you something new to put in your passport? Since we are married now, he is legal but his passport will be expired after Aug 27th. Any answers would be appreciated.

*** we went to dmv office yesterday and my 194 already expire they told me to wait for the aos approved.i suggest that you file as early as you could your aos.

    2) Also, we were planning to travel to NYC in early October and then I realized his I-94 will be expired, what can we do to get his passport up to date so we can travel. If the airlines see that his I-94 is expired, I can't imagine they will let him travel. Can we travel with an expired I-94 if we have a certified marriage certificate with us? Help!!!

****when you file your AOS you submit the advance parole (AP)together so that in any case you will not encounter problems.hope this helps.

    Thanks so much!!

  14. I want to know, Do i have to submit a I-864 form at the same time with a I- 134 form if i dont meet the poverty guide lines? I say this because ive talk with someone from the USCIS, and he told me that i could, is that true?

i suggest get a co sponsor that the income is above the poverty level

  15. oh this website the for assembling the 1-129f package check list doesnt say anything about a copy of a birth certificate for my fiancee, but from the website (fianceevisasecrets.com) fiancee visa secrets ebook says i need a copy of hers and needs to be translated with a note from the translator. so i need to know do i need one from her thanks in advance

much better if you can submit a photocopy of your birth certificate as well as her birth certificate(must be translated in english) hopes this helps

  16. 2-year card, 10-year card - same thing, same privileges, responsibilities and requirements (the only difference is the expiration date).

You need to be aware that you have a responsibility to maintain your residency in the US if you intend to maintain your permanent resident status.

How long do you plan to be gone?

like 2.5 years but i will go back here in US every 5 months is that possible?
