    2. S's birthday.

    3. When did we get married.

    4. Were there any witnesses at the wedding.

    5. When was the last time I entered the U.S.

    6. Have I visited the U.S. many times.

    7. Who do you live with.

    8. What is your address.

    9. What is your phone number.

    Q's asked to S:

    2. Where does he work.

    3. What does he do at work.

    Information the IO collected:

    1. Joint savings and bank account.

    2. Utility bills: some were under T's name and some were under S's name w/ the same address.

    3. Joint cell phone account.

  3. My husband and I just got married 2 weeks ago in California and are about to send in our AOS package. I have 2 questions please!!

Once yr husband get EAD,he can apply CA DL

    1) We went to the DMV yesterday so he could get his Temp Drivers License and they wouldn't give it to him because his I-94 was going to expire on Aug 27th. They said we needed to come 2 months before the passport expires. So here is my question. In order for him to get a license, he needs to have an updated passport or I-94 I guess? Also, it said we could have an approved NOA. So... how long does it take to get an approval? Did anyone else run into this problem? I can't believe he won't be able to drive this whole time. Do they send you something new to put in your passport? Since we are married now, he is legal but his passport will be expired after Aug 27th. Any answers would be appreciated.

Yes,you can travel inside this county, airport staff do not check I94,bring a copy of NOA after submitting yr I485 packet is neccesary

    2) Also, we were planning to travel to NYC in early October and then I realized his I-94 will be expired, what can we do to get his passport up to date so we can travel. If the airlines see that his I-94 is expired, I can't imagine they will let him travel. Can we travel with an expired I-94 if we have a certified marriage certificate with us? Help!!!

    Thanks so much!!

  4. Sorry for hear this, let's pray for you everything will be fine and your reschedulled appointment is gonna be ok......

I received my interview letter in the mail on July 7 for August 19th. But we called and had to reschedule, because my husbands company doesn't give their employees any days off (just for court orders) due to the bad automotive industry right now. So he would risk to loose his job. They have every other Friday plant shut down and this is when they are supposed to schedule all appointments.

I am really nervous about that because they say a reschedule request can also cause a denial of your case. :( I am praying every day that this won't happen....

congratulations to everybody else receiving interview letters or getting transferred.

  5. I didnt get any touch but my interview letter is already recieved, after review so many post here in VJ,I found it's normal that you will recieve the letter without any update/touch.......

To T.Fu, our interview will be in the same week, good luck :star:

For all you who have your interview letters, did they come in the mail or if you have signed up for email updates do you get an email first? Just wondering what I should be obsessively checking. I have been looking on uscis.gov for touches, but that doesn't seem to be the way!

    Rexalite:

I received my interview letter via mail. Didn't get any e-mail updates [i was checking it daily just like you did... then I stopped 'cause I felt like I had OCD or smth lol!] After reading a couple posts, many seem to say that the USCIS online system isn't the most updated way to check where you stand in the process. Even after I received my interview letter nothing has been changed/touched/updated on my I-130 and I-485 case study through USCIS.

Hope this clears your question about the interview letter.

    Cheers,

    T.Fu

  6. Congruturation for all the updates, god is so kind :)

Still waiting for the appointment letter, but not in hurry, already got EAD,SSN,DL I'm happy with all those stuff..............

I will be visiting couple of the national parks in UTAH this long weekend, late afternoon start to drive from LA,it takes 7-8 hours with a normal traffic.wish everybody have a happy independent day, enjoy america B)

  7. To Aloe and B&J, I know it's kind of unfair that your case is processing slower than others, which makes people feel helpless and confuse.Let's pray you will have something update ASAP and there is beatiful life after the darkness......be strong and postive

On SK&SP,it's amazing news, congraturation,so you are gonna have exactly 3 month processing frame which is super fast

  8. Just walk in and your problem will be resolved....

Im sorry guys I don't know where to put this forum. I would like to ask about getting a California Identification Card at DMV. I tried to make an appointment online for next week, June 24 at DMV San Mateo, CA but the schedule is full for that day. I don't have other time to get it and my employer needs my ID. I don't know why my employer asked me for California Identification Card, I got my GC already so why need ID. But anyway, I would like to ask you guys if I can just do a walk-in at DMV and file for ID? If yes, how long does it take to file there? Any one here got ID at DMV San Mateo, CA? Please I need your advise. Thanks.

By the way, I tried to call DMV but couldn't get through.....their line is always busy. :(

  9. Did you register an account in the USCIS website? If you did, normally you will be able to recieve automtic email update

If you didnt,go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do then choose register in the laft side, just follow the instruction...good luck

Just a quick question, how did people find out that their EAD card was in production? Email or letter? Just wondering what to look out for!

    Thanks

    Immi

  10. Hi,S.Fu+ T.Fu,before I was filling, my lawyer advised that getting a public marriage license is better than confidential one, she said IO may ask more questions if you got confidential marrige license,it's not big deal and not a major point fot a bona fide marriage however, but less question is always better.

If you did have a confidential one, there is nothing to change anymore, just dont worry too much and be more prepared for the interview

    wish you good luck!!

I have a question that has been bothering me a bit.

I'm not sure how well people know about the difference between Confidential Marriage vs. Public Marriage under the civil court rules. But here goes:

My hubby and I decided to choose the confidential marriage because:

    1. Only you and your spouse can request for the marriage certificate and nobody else can unless they have a court order.

We wanted to do this because we feel like it's a lot safer and secure if something this important to us are only obtainable through us.

    2. Do not require a witness. All our friends had to work that day and both our family members/relatives are half way around the globe from us. So it wasn't possible for them to attend.

    3. You must be living together prior to the marriage.

    4. It's a bit more expensive than public marriage.

    My story is:

The morning when we were preparing to go to the civil center to get married. My hubby started feeling a bit woozy and kinda sick, but he said he was fine. We went and gave each other our vows. HOWEVER, here's my 'problem' we didn't take any photos with the judge or at the civil center. My hubby was feeling real dizzy so I wanted to bring him home asap and let him rest in bed. He caught the flu that night.

    My worries are:

    1. We didn't have a witness with us. [Friends busy, co workers at work, classmates in class.... impossible?]

    2. We didn't take any photos that day due to the situation I explained above.

    3. Since our families members weren't able to be here, we wanted our wedding in 2011, the year, the month and date that we have in mind are extremely important to us and want to establish a wedding ceremony on that day. I wonder if explaining this to the IO will raise more red flags. However, we want to be honest about it.

I understand that the USCIS IO will definitely want to see the pictures of our marriage but we currently don't have any from our civil wedding, since it's a courtship between the two of us.

Let me know what your advice is regarding this situation. It'll be greatly appreciated. :]

  11. I recieved EAD letter from NBC(lees summit),not from local office.

Wish you will recieve it very soon!!

Good morning, everyboday and congraturation on Alice and Kiwie!!!

Hopefully this week most of us will have great update and new steps, acually I'm expecting an interview letter, does here somebody know that who issues the interview letter?it's from NBC or local office?

    Have a great day,my fellow may filers:thumbs:

    \

I am not sure - I was also wondering if the EAD and AP were administered at NVC or at the local field office. I still haven't been touched since May, and did my biometrics 3 weeks ago. Who else is with me? I am at the Memphis field office.

  12. Congraturation!!!!Things are moving along so fast, what else we can expect......
