We (I am the USC, she is China) originally met through a singles internet site in June, 2002. We were 'penpals' for about two months, then her e-mails started being bounced back to me and I couldn't reach her at the phone number she had given me in one of her last e-mails. I chalked it up to internet singles 'dating' and left it at that. Never did leave my mind about what may have happened as I had begun to enjoy our correspondence. Fast forward to Sep, 2003. I am performing some e-mail cleanup and run across our old e-mails (I am slow about deleting things, okay!). Something prompted me to try 'one last time' just to see if I could get through and see whatever happened to her. Much to my surprise, she responded a few days later. After exchanging a couple of e-mails catching up on the past 14 months, we both realized that it was God working to bring us back together. She had prayed in August to get an e-mail from me, even though she had not heard from me in 13 months!!! We realized we both had deep feelings for each other and after traveling to meet/see her in November 2003, we confirmed those feelings and began our adventure to get married. Now we are on the K-1 visa road, waiting like all the rest to get through the process.
