Raj, it's been 3 weeks since I applied in person at the local SS office to have my SSN updated to an unrestricted one - I had a SSN on my previous visa so I just need the annotation removed on my card. They made me wait 2 weeks after POE before they put in the request. I have no idea what's taking them so long. Presumably they have to verify the A# with DHS and that's taking a while. Who knows? Thankyou! I don't have to AOS since I entered on a CR-1. I POE'd 5 weeks ago and no sign of a Welcome Letter, SS card or Green Card. You're right, I'm going to wait another 2 weeks and schedule an InfoPass.

I changed the address at POE and then filed the AR-11 online and sent the I-865 via snailmail. The address on the DS230 is my in-law's place so I'll receive it either way. I spoke to USCIS earlier this week and they said card-production hasn't been ordered so I can't see the address change being an issue.

I feel like it's too soon to contact the Congressman. He's been very helpful during the entire process and we might end up calling him if it doesn't come in a few more weeks. I am planning on scheduling an INFOPASS if there's nothing in the mail by mid-July. Thankfully, I can start my job with my visa/stamp and SSN. I'd just like to have all my paperwork in hand so this wait is frustrating.

Thanks, Bern. It's good to know that I'm not the only one. When did you receive your welcome letter? I called USCIS earlier today. They told me 'Card production has not been ordered' -- and that there's a possibility that the airport has not sent them the packages yet. I know it's not a big deal but it's just frustrating. I just want to be DONE.

Well, that's great news. I got nothing yet. No welcome letter, no SS card (thankfully, I had a SSN on a previous visa) and no sign of the GC. Chicago CBP was of absolutely no help.

I called the national helpline for the SSA. They said that they could see the request I made on 6/4. They said hopefully, I'll receive it next week. They said it takes a little longer to get the clearance/verification from DHS.

Nothing for me yet. Just called USCIS. They said I'm not even in the system yet and to call back after 2 weeks. Argh. I just want to be done with this #######.
