When you are doing the prints, if you look carefully at the screen after the print is scanned, there is a number that pops up (ex 76) and a little message at the bottom of the screen (ex PASS) but i guess u have to be a geek like myself to notice that ... but anyway i wonder why people suddenly start having trouble with their prints during the n400 process and not for any other petition, maybe the fbi raises its standard for what they consider good prints ( which i think is really dumb )... wish u luck and that you won't have to do the ink thingy.

Well you are not alone Puffy...I noticed the numbers too on the instrument. I was getting a 78 & 79 everytime with a 'PASS' on the equipment and one time I had a '74' which was still a PASS which almost made me ask the official for a re-do..(I didnt want to travel another 5 hours for another FP appointment). Also, I noticed that when forced too hard, the prints were dark and she made me re-take a couple of them. As I relaxed, the prints were better as she said. Mind you, I was the first one that day...maybe as the day wore, they didnt care as much..and could be some dark prints which the FBI couldnt use.

Wifey, Thanks for your suggestion... I decided to do my biometrics today (the scheduled date was yesterday). Took me all of 10 minutes, but a 4 1/2 hour drive to & from St.Louis.

Looking at some of the interview dates here, I have a chance to get an interview in July which would be awesome...I will be gone the whole month of August & hope I dont have to reschedule.

I'm scheduled for the bio appointment on May 26. I will be out of the country the whole month of August. From the timeline I observe from here & the March filers, I could be scheduled for the interview anywhere between 45 days and 3 months from May 26. Since they have given me an option of a walk-in bio anytime till August 18, I'm thinking of delaying my bio till the mid of July so that I can be certain that my interview date will be only after I return from my trip. I have been advised not to re-schedule my interview date by some friends. What do you think ??

congrats on your letter!! Good for you! Funny, I used to live in St. Louis (went to college there), but am not missing the Show me State too much these days, too humid!!

To answer your question: even though I obviously have not had any experience with rescheduling the interview, my letter states that you may do so: "If for any reason you cannot keep this appointment, return this letter immediately to the USCIS office address listed below with your explanation and a request for a new appointment; otherwise, no further action will be taken on your application".

Thanks Anci..I'm going to go ahead do my fingerprints on May 27 & hope that my interview is scheduled before I leave on July 30. I will deal with it when I get to that bridge. I live in Jeff city & yes,I never knew things can get so humid in the midwest. But I'm used to near 100% humidity coz of where I grew up.

if your appointment is on a day you are on vacation try to take the letter to the office and do a walk-in, mine was also scheduled for a day when I was out of town. At first I sent the letter back, but then I saw here that some people just walked in at the office. I did that and they had my letter there and it was over with in a few minutes. I am sure it will be on a day when you are out of town, this is how things usually work out isn't it??! Haha, good luck to you!

Well, I finally got my Biometric appointment letter - oh yeah, it's right when I will be on vacation. Actually the day I will be driving back from Minnesota...So, I figured a foolproof plan to spend an extra day at the in-laws in Kansas city on the drive back so that I can go to the appointment etc and all seemed dandy till I saw that the appointent was in St.Louis !!! (oh, just the other end of the state). But it says, if I cant make the appointment, I can walk in on any Wednesday before August 18 at which point my application would be considered abandoned (not gonna happen with my 675 bucks .

My next curveball is that I will be going back to India for a month in August. If I get an interview date in August, can I reschedule the interview like they have done with the biometrics ? Anyone with this experience ?

Anyways, let me do a dance first for receiving the biometric letter.

Call the customer service number at (800) 375-5283. I called them today before the mail came today to see if they had mailed anything. I had some "mail problems" last week so I wanted to make sure I didnt miss the Bio letter coming. The lady that spoke with me was very nice and informed me that they had mailed my appt notice on May 8. All she asked for was my A# to locate the info, along with my name and last name. She also told me that If I didnt receive the letter in the mail by tomorrow, I should call them to ask for a new one. Luckily it came today! My appt is on the 22nd at 12 pm, just 8 days away!

From my personal experience, I recommend that you call them to check if anything has been mailed. If it was mailed and it has been over 2 weeks, it might have been lost on its way.

Thanks Tpontirolli...I called the 800 number and an officer said that my bio letter was mailed recently and I should receive it soon. She said to call back if I dont have it by next week. Now, that's good news...thanks for the suggestion. Now, I hope my appt is not next week when I'm on vacation

Still dont have my bio letter...I'm the only one so far back. Not losing sleep over it yet. But I'm travelling to KC twice in the next 2 weeks & if the Bio appt comes thru, that will be thrice..and that sucks. Btw, the round trip to KC is 350 miles.

Yea I know, Those green offices are awesome, It was actually kinda cool (tech-wise), I mean the bathrooms had no-water flushing

Maybe they pay them more, or they give them Hybrid cars or something for free lol

They even had Hybrid-Efficient Vehicle Only Parking spaces lol.... I wish I was driving a Hummer so I can park it in the spot and see what happens...

Have you done biometrics recently? Maybe you won't have to do it again. I have seen people going from NOA1 to interview letter without biometrics.. rare but it has happened before... if you don't hear anything in a week or so, you should call'em up.

I used my Notice Date.. It looks like most people used the Notice Date but a few used the date they received the notice in the mail.

For biometrics appointments, there might some variation depending on the backlog at your local ASC. But from your timeline, looks like you shouldn't have too long to wait!

Updating timeline....my check was cashed on 04/20. I haven't received the NOA..maybe its in today's mail at home.

Told you guys, USPS tracking information is just as updated and accurate as the USCIS case tracking........ Something about govt agencies and online tracking that don't quiet work well together....

Had the same issue...but with Fed-ex...they delivered my packet on April 13, the status still shows 'at local sort facility'. Called & confirmed the delivery. I have had good luck with fedex usually, hopefully this is the only glitch of my n400 experience.

how can we figure out the local office ? I live in a small town in Central Missouri and I'm pretty sure I need to go to either KC or St.Louis. Help please.
