Probably more to the story here. She used the system, If no local police came you are probably good to go. I think I would see an attorney to cover yourself. If you get arrested for spousal abouse you have additional big problems beside your marriage and kids.
Yeah, there's got to be more to the story alright. But from the little information we have so far, it is clear that the consequences of not doing things right in the first place are catching up now. Since the OP decided to share this situation with the VJ community, I for one would like to hear the wife's version (probably not going to happen).
"... I am sorry I never filed immigration papers I was scared she would run away with our children to her country..." -- the timeline of getting married (in her country), coming to the U.S. on a K-1, having children, not filing immigration papers.... ....something is out of whack here.

Most the time Manila wont accept a cosponsor.
Hey "Mike42979"..... that's a great video of your proposal. Enjoyed it... very nice!
And to the OP.... Teapotgurl1983's post above is right on. You possibly are going to have some significant problems if your spouse does not return to the U.S. and earn an income that is verifiable. Of course you two will miss each other for a few months.... but look to the long-term consequences of being denied because your husband cannot prove ability to support you in the U.S. Avoid this problem and get hubby back to work!!

Nice! Best wishes to you.

. . . . . . .
If you have money to burn hire an attorney. You can do it.
Well said.

Here is the direct site, see if this apply s to you, also.
I think that this is a good link for the OP. Look at point #2 .... and if you are not sure about whether this applies then just call that toll-free number and ask them. You will probably have your answer in less than 10 minutes.

. . . . . .
3 years?? Ofcourse not
30 years? yes
Ah ok..... (whew!) so, 25 years is ok !!

In my area, id rather use jeepney than scooter. If I get into an accident, there are more chances to survive.
We agree!

In our experience(the first time around -- our K-1 visa) we had an engagement ring.... but it was never asked about by the consulate officer. I don't think you need to worry about it.
-
We put in "see attached" and then wrote a 3-paragraph explanation of how we met. Others have indicated that just a few sentences was sufficient for their application (and successful). Just keep it to one page and you're fine.

Best wishes to you both !!

best of luck. Don't forget an update about that. I'm curious what they would asking on the interview list...
Yeah, I am also curious about that. Now, for a K-1 (Fiance) I can understand the rationale for having a formal interview to verify certain information regarding the relationship... how a couple met, etc... - but for a married couple?... if there is sufficient proof of marriage then I'm wondering what is the point of an interview? (I guess perhaps to just check & make sure it's not a sham marriage arrangement just to get someone to the U.S.).
Well, anyway.... Best wishes to you!

Yeah, it's a long wait... but what can ya do? Press on.
Congratulations & best wishes.

I got my answers.... I just called the NVC (twice while I was completing the DS-230 Form).
I was "on hold" less than two minutes each time. The individuals who helped me were knowledgeable and courteous.

Right hey guys i'm new here, first topic and all, and already i'm having problems, basically i've recieved my letter telling me what i need to send off for my Packet 3, what i need to know is the ds 230? is it just the first 2 pages of the form or the whole thing?
Yup.... I also just got an e-mail from the NVC stating that they are "waiting for an immigrant visa application". .... so somewhere along the line I missed some instruction to send in the DS-230 form?... so they are waiting for it ?!?!?
This letter is as clear as mud. But after reviewing several posts on this great site I think I've got it figured out. The NVC just wants "Part 1" filled out and sent to them..... right? (and "supporting documents").
So my wife will turn in "Part 2" when she goes in for her interview?..... uh..... I think.
We've already been approved regarding the I-129F and the I-130 (in which they approved them at the same time so they "administratively closed" the I-129F).... ok, fine..... then I submitted the "Affidavit of Support".... and so now I got this letter. Here is the main part of the letter about the DS-230....
______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________
The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case.
The Principal Applicant and any other Applicants who will be accompanying him or her to the United
States must now download and complete an Immigrant Visa Application; please visit the following
website for instructions:
http://immigrantvisas.state.gov (click on the link for "submit Visa application and civil documents")
Please submit the Immigrant Visa Application form(s) and required supporting documents for each
Applicant in one package to the National Visa Center; sending this information separately will delay
your visa.
Honestly, it is quite confusing.... because "Part 2" has the section at the end of the form that requires my wife to appear before the Consulate. So I guess she will soon go in with both Parts 1 & 2 (and another batch of the same supporting documents?!)
So, at this point we are I-130 "approved".... and I have submitted the "Affidavit of Support" which I guess was fine because then very soon after submitting that, the NVC sent me the letter (part of it shown in green, above).
So...... if anyone would like to comment on this, I would appreciate it.
Wow.... what a process!

That's great news. Congrats!

99 days. Nice!

Yup... great site - very helpful information (and some interesting characters on this site too!). This site helped us a lot on our first time through the journey... now we're doing it again (our brief re-introduction is here if you're interested: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/312342-going-through-the-grind-one-more-time/page__p__4701041__fromsearch__1#entry4701041 ).
Anyway, welcome to the site and best wishes to you!

Like the others have said, your plan will not work. However, the K-1 visa doesn't expire for 6 months, so he could finish up his work in Paris before using the K-1 to enter the US and marry you.
OP wrote: "...my new worry is that he needs to keep his job for a few more
months in Paris."
This is good advice (above) from Jay-Kay. A few more months of waiting might seem like an eternity... but it's not. You will be much better off just waiting until your fiance wraps things up in Paris and then comes over on his K-1.

Not only is it not a good idea but I am sure the USCIS has photoshop too and if you enlarge the photo large enough, you can see it was Photo Shopped in my opinion.
_______ _______
Wow..... ok, geez..... for clarity sake --- I was joking!

There's always Photoshop.

Yup . . . . there will be a long period (seemingly endless) where you will hear nothing. Then finally things will begin to happen as they review your petition and then either send you request(s) for more information, OR inform you that the petition has been approved and your ready for the next steps .
Don't worry... every couple going through this has to wait, and wait....... ..... and wait!
