No internet acces the last couple of days. NVC received our case on September 30. They have our e-mails. Now we wait.
-
So what you guys are saying is that for the "Current" question I should put what I have made so far this year as of the time I complete the form?
-
I have until Wednesday to join the rest of the NVC September club. NVC doesn't have our case number yet. Might be one of the first in the October NVC club though .
-
NOA2 hardcopy received today.
-
Thanks Mal and dabest.
We're literally talking right now and doing the forms as I type this.

So I'm planning to go to my wife's interview whenever it comes and we'll fly back to the US together. Which brings me to this:
Question 31a on the DS-230: Person(s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany you to the United States now.
Should she put me on there? I live in the US, btw. But I will be making the trip to Romania for the interview and we'll be coming back together.
-
Great news. Thanks guys.
-
When you call the NVC and get the "Your call is important to us. Please hold. All lines are busy." line, will it go straight to the automated message about your NVC case number once a line opens up or go to an operator?

I got approved yesterday and got a touch today.
-
Do I really need both the tax transcripts and copies of tax returns or can I just send in the transcripts for the last 3 years and be fine?
-
Beautiful. Thanks Anh.
Also, do I really need to collect copies of my federal tax returns at $57 a piece or are the IRS transcripts enough?
-
Just joined the club. Getting papers together ASAP.

I just got approved today but I'm trying to get a straight answer to a question. I can come close to reaching the poverty requirements for the AoS but would really like to use a co-sponsor just to be safe. Now from what I'm reading, I can use let's say my mother as a co-sponsor. If my mother lived with me I could use her as a household member co-sponsor. The question is, when it involves household members as a co-sponsor, would it combine my income with hers to make the poverty requirement or would my mother have to reach the requirement on her own? Really confused about this. Getting mixed answers.

I am in complete and utter shock that this happened so quickly. Can someone answer my question from the post above though? Now I really need to get going. I'm just shocked.

Another question about the AOS. From what I understand if I had lets say my mother live with me, she could file with me as a household member and it would combine both of our income to meet the requirement? She wouldn't have to meet the requirement on her own(she does not btw)? If this is the case, I think I just found the way to do this.
-
Wow! Congrats!
Question. When counting my household, would I count as just me by myself or would I include my wife for the AOS to make it 2? Also, when I contact the IRS, do I need a tax return transcript or a tax account transcript?
-
I'm trying to get my stuff together too but I'm still REALLY confused whether I need a co-sponsor or not. Like I said before, I fall about $4,000 short on my salary alone but I do own a house so I think I wouldn't need a co-sponsor but I still don't know.
How much equity in the house??
Around $27,000.
Just in case I do need a co-sponsor, my uncle is willing to help. He does not live with me. He has a wife and 2 kids. Now, would he have to add my wife for the AOS like I do? So his household would go from 4 to 5 for the AOS?

Quick question guys. So if I make $14,000 a year but own a house and a car, is that enough for the AOS to be 125% above the poverty level for 2? Does putting a house and a car as assets even count for the AOS? Just trying to get ahead here.
In order to qualify based on the value of your assets, the total value of your assets must equal at least five times the difference between your total household income and the current poverty guidelines for your household size. However,if you are a U.S. citizen and you are sponsoring your spouseor minor child, the total value of your assets must only be equal to at least three times the difference. If the intending immigrant is an alien orphan who will be adopted in the United States after the alien orphan acquires permanent residence, and who will, as a result, acquire citizenship under section 320 of the Act, the total value of your assets need only equal the difference.
To use the assets of a relative (spouse, adult son or daughter, parent or sibling), the relative must reside with you and have completed a Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, with accompanying evidence of assets. The Form I-864A and accompanying evidence of assets is submitted with Form I-864. You may use the assets of more than one relative who resides with you so long as you submit acomplete Form I-864A with evidence of assets for each such relative.
27. Household Member's Assets.
You may use the assets of the intending immigrant regardlessof where he or she resides. The intending immigrant mustprovide evidence of such assets with this form. Form I-864Ais not required to document the intending immigrant's assets.
28. Assets of the Intending Immigrant.
29. Total Value of Assets.
Example of How to Use Assets: If you are petitioning for a parent and the poverty line for your household size is $22,062 and your current income is $18,062, the difference between your current income and the poverty line is $4,000. In order for assets to help you qualify, the combination of your assets, plus the assets of any household member who is signing FormI-864A, plus any available assets of the sponsored immigant, would have to equal five times this difference (5 x $4,000). Inthis case, you would meet the income requirements if the net value of the assets equaled at least $20,000.
Sorry I keep bothering with questions about this but I really want to try and get this perfectly straight and you guys know your stuff well. The difference in my situation would be around $4,000 so according to that the total of my assets would have to be around $20,000 to qualify. The house is currently at a market value of around $160,000. That's more than enough, correct? Should I get a co-sponsor that does make the $18,000+ a year?
-
Hmmm...what if a relative wanted to make a co-sponsorship but they don't live in my house, is it ok?

MsSheka, you and I have literally the exact same timeline except for the touches.
EDIT: Nevermind. I just checked. Even our touches are the same. Whoa!

Well guys, I sent the I-130 packet on Monday, August 24. Feel relieved after finally sending it. Thanks to everyone who helped answering my questions for the I-130 and G325A. Now I wait. Let the journey begin.
-
One more thing...for now. In the instructions for the IR1/CR1 packet on this site it states I need copies for certain things (my birth certificate, copy of marriage certificate, etc). Do they have to be official copies or copies that I can make at a Kinko's? Thanks again. I have a feeling I'll be using the site and forums quite a bit for our journey.

Yeah we got our number. I called twice a day everyday since my I-130 was approved. Finally on October 1 the automated message said that it was in the system as of September 30 and it gave me my number. I spoke to an operator who took our e-mails and she said we will get info in about 2 weeks through e-mail.
