Hey everyone thanks for the replies thus far. I have emailed the consulate 2 weeks ago right after the Stroke happen and got no reply. I called and get no call back. I was really upset about that. I hope to mention that to the embassy that I did send an email 2 weeks prior to my interview at least asking for a sooner interview.
The reason I am going with my wife is because shes really nervous as am I. I understand the interview isn't a big deal, but I just want to be there to support her and we are really hoping that we get the visa so we can immediately fly out to Florida. Its such a crazy situation, id be devastated if something happens to my Pops before I could see him and he meet my wife.
ugh I hate this. Interviews in 48 hours so, hopefully the evidence I bring, as well as the fact 2 weeks prior to the interview I sent an email with no response will be enough.

Afternoon VJer's
I have a question as some of you know my 88 year old grand father, who is basically like a father to me and raised me had a stroke last week and is not doing well at all. He was released from the Hospital a few days ago and is now on Hospice care.
My family had all flown down to Florida to be by his side, because anyday could be his last. It killed me I couldn't go down and he didn't want me to because he wanted me to be up in MTL to support my wife at her interview. So while we are happy and excited for it, under these conditions its bitter sweet. I got my mother to send all of my Grand Fathers medical notes, as well as discharge letter, and Hospice care to me. I plan to present that to the interviewer and plead my wife be granted her visa immediately so we can join our family in Florida to see my Grand Father before he passes. I hope to really emphasize the fact he did not get to attend our wedding because of his health and has never met my wife Shannon before. Which is HUGE to us because he help my mom raise me as a Kid. So he is like a father to me.
Do you guys think the Discharge letters from his recent stint in the Hospital, as well as his medical condition with his heart (Extreme Hyper Tension), notes from the physician, as well as his Hospice care agreement, which are all dated for this month will be enough evidence for the Embassy about the urgency of my Grand Fathers health, and the need for Shannon to get her Visa as soon as possible so we can join our family in Florida to basically say our goodbyes.?
Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated seeing our interview is in 3 days.
Thanks So much in advance you have all been a great crutch through this entire immigration process.

We have been seeing varying times to be honest. Most the holdups seem to have been the embassys fault. Some people have waited 2 weeks. Others got theirs back in a few days. Its really in between that.

Congrats!!

Correct we also had 3 letters from friends saying they knew of us and attended the wedding.

You wont get an RFE for only sending pictures. We did the same thing and it worked just fine! Don't worry about it.

IF you have had a criminal history I suggest you get one. IF you have a clean criminal history the general check and letter will suffice.

Waybill number is just another way to track it but it will not be available until your passport actually arrives at the DHL facility.
-
Okay perfect thank you for all this information

Thats not true. Not everyone has gotten the finger prints done. That is only necessary if you have a criminal history. While more is always better it isn't necessary.

1.Do it right away. No reason to wait.
2.You will need to create an ID for each person who will be having a passport mailed back.
3. No it does not when you register on this Site and DHL picks up your passports from Montreal they will use this information and the reference ID that is given to you to send your information.
4. MTL will not give you a waybill number at the interview. The waybill will be generated once DHL receives you package and it ships.
5. Go to DHL.ca and put in the reference number that is given to you once you register on the us-visa web page. Word of caution you will not be able to track it until DHL ships your passport and it arrives for pick up. Sucks I know we are all going through it.

Makes sense. Here is my question. I sent in my taxes for 07-09. I haven't filled my taxes yet this year because I haven't got everything back yet. Should I still bring my W2 form although I havent filled my taxes for the 2010 tax year?

Wow this gov't shut down in on the date of my interview. I hope it doesn't happen!
