Diana,
thanks a lot for your quick and informative reply. I'm so glad I found this site. It's saving us a lot of money and trouble...and hopefully time.

Hello all!
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone involved in putting this site together and contributing. This is by far the best site of its kind on the net and it has helped us greatly already.
About us: My wife is from Guatemala, I live in Puerto Rico at the moment. We got married in Guatemala on November 8th 2008. We originally decided to go the K-3 route but after reading a lot about it here, it seems the CR-1 might be the better option. I just want to get clarification on this topic. My understanding is that the I-130 by itself will default to become a CR-1 Visa and that in order to pursue the K-3 route we would have to send in the I-129 package. From what I've read here, the K-3 used to be the way to go in order to be together as soon as possible as it was significantly quicker than the CR-1 but that has changed as of late with both the I-130 and I-129 being approved in nearly the same amount of time. With the CR-1 being the better of the two options, should we send in the I-129 anyway or does it not make sense at this point? I just received the NOA1 recently and can still pursue that option. Also, does it matter that I wrote "K3 Visa" in the purpose section of the I-130 and I believe the G-325s?
Again, thanks to everyone that contributes here. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and will do my best to contribute to the site.
Robin
P.S. I'm posting this in both the K-3 and Cr-1 section of the forum as it pertain to both. I hope that's not a problem.
