call nvc back and reconfirm the date just to be sure.
-
i suggest you send it with a tracking number just to be sure that NVC did received it... If it was sent via emial, they tend to be slow in opening and responding to emails...
-
probably it's better if u'll send your copy to your hubby, then request another from NBI (for your interview) instead of you sending it via fedex to your hubby then he sends it back to you... Too much back and forth!
Just to let you know, the consul didnt even asked for my hubby's pcc copy when he had his interview...but as always, better to be sure than sorry. I really suggest that you just request another copy..it would be cheaper that way. good luck on the journey!

This question is for my aunt. She was petitioned by her brother. In 2006, her visa got approved together with her husband and 3 minor kids. Since they dont have permanent work yet, only my aunt and her hubby went here in the US leaving behind their 3 minor kids. 3 years after (present time), they are now ready to get her kids..Kids are still minor.
My question: can she still use the same case number that was approved in 2005 since the children were included in that petition? i have heard of something called FOLLOW-TO JOIN. Are the children eligible for that? If so, what are the steps my aunt need to do? or she needs to file a new petition?

she can stay out of the country less than 6 months..beyond that, she might be questioned at her POE... you need a valid reason as to why u stay beyod 6 months outside..my advice, come back before 6 months, stay in the US for a while and just come back to your home country once in a while until your mom will be able to get her kids. Since your mom is super new in the US, it won't look good if she will right away go back in her country and stay there long.

Anyone here who has experience with Detroit as their POE? Please share your experience. My hubby's POE is detroit and he has 2 hrs of lay over. Just want to make sure that 2 hrs is enough for 1st time immigrant to pass through customs and immigration. Hope to hear your feedbacks!

it depends on the country. In the Philippines, u need to pay the call in order to talk to someone authorized to change the schedule date.

on the upper right hand side of this forum, there's a POE section. You can check JFK. People have been updating it regarding their experiences.

THank you very much Aaron2020 for a very detailed response. That sure shed light to my aunt's situation.

HI ALL,
this question is for my aunt. My aunt was a permamnent resident when she petitioned her daughter (under 21) on 2003 and the petition got approved in 2005. The beneficiary was still under 21, 20 1/2 years old to be exact back then. They are now waiting for the visa availability. My question: does she need to upgrade the petition now that my aunt is a US citizen? Will the beneficiary be treated as a minor when my aunt upgrade the petition considering that the petition was approved when the beneficary was still under 21. Or, the beneficiary will be treated as an adult? Bottomline, which will be faster, waiting for a visa under an immigrant petition or under as US citizen petition. Thanks and hoping to hear from you soon.

HI Haole,
I see that it's faster being a beneficiary of an immigrant. Does my aunt need to declare that she's a citizen now? Or just wait until they receive something from NVC and have it processed as an immigrant petition? Thanks!

Not sure however PM member Aaron2020 he is very knowledgable in these types of questions.
hi, how will i find him?

They should have provided you with a checklist. My wife was asked to bring her passport, 2x2 photos (x2), and wedding pictures.
I just downloaded a checlist from the website of USEM in MAnila. It states he needs to bring a visa photo but was not clearly elaborated. Thanks for the tip.

hi all!
My husband's interview is on Aug 26. Just want to check what picture is required for him to bring? 2x2 photo or a visa size photo? Is there a special requirement for the photo? (ex: white background??)
Thanks!
