  1. USCIS received our I-485 on December 30, 2008 and my wife had her biometrics on January 20, 2009. Her file hasn't been "touched" since January 21, 2009. Our local office is Sacramento, ca. We have noticed that other that filed after us have alread received an interview date or have been approved. Thanks!

Did you call or write USCIS to inquire as to case status? Are you set up for updates online?

I am set up for email notices and I also check status each day online. I haven't called yet, what to do a little background research on this site first.

    Thanks for your response.

Maybe FBI is doing quite big background research on her life

I noticed that some ppl who sent AOS packages in the same time what i did have already been approved but i m still waiting. I guess thats cuz i used to work in places all over Europe so the FBI checking is taking longer. I m patient so far

Honestly i have no idea why they dont go follow the dates of AOS packages receiving. Some ppl have been waiting over 6 months and others got approval in less than 2 months. You never know with them

  2. hi all

i filed my family based I485 in nov 2008 then finger prints, I864 and finally i submitted I693 in current month so recently my case has been updated by uscis after receiving my I693 .. so what could be the next step in my case ? should i expect GC or should i expect an interview ?

my case on uscis.gov is like this now ..

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On May 19, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

so can any please suggest ?

    regards ..!!

USCIS let you know that they got your response for RFE and thats it. Your case is back to pending and they will notify you when they make finnal decision or contac you again if they gonna need some more evidence. If you already received EAD you good to go and the next step should be welcome letter!

You can check your case status online www.uscis.gov (type your case #) or register for automatic update. No worry, everything is going typicall way

  3. How stupid is that :bonk: We all came here because of fiance visa and medical examination was part of the K1 process so we wouldnt be in Usa if we havent done medical examination at the country of origin

For those who got transferred to CSC, they mostlikely didnt transfer that seald enveloped which was handed to emigration officer at the airport.

I wonder if there is anybody whose case got transferred and the case was approved with only vaccination supplement sent ?

  4. Congrats on the fast approval!

You don't need to get a new SSN.

All you have to do is go to any SS office and present your EAD, and if you like, had your name changed from your maiden name to your married name..

    Congrats.

My was also quick approval - 44days! as well as AP

I went to DMV today and the lady at the counter asked for ssn and she told me that i have to change my name on ss card so i m gonna do it tom.

  5. Hello all, it is possible that this is posted somewhere already but I am a little confused. Today we received an update from the USCIS saying that "card production" has been ordered. BUT we haven't received any notification of an interview date or of course, had the interview yet! Does this make sense at all? We know for sure that we have the right case number in the system. Any information would be appreciated.

Are you sure this is not EAD card approved?

If not congrats, that was really fast

  6. Hello guys,

Im in the process of filling out the forms i need in order to file the AOS for my husband, but I have the following questions:

    Form I-485

    1. My husband has yet to receive his social security card... Is it ok just to state "not available"

    n/a

    2. A# if any: Is this the A# that shows on the NOA2 we received?

yes thats the one, or on visa - A#

    3. I-94#- This is the number on the white little form stapled to the passport right?

thats the big # on the left top corner - the bigest # on i-94

    4. Current USCIS stats: I put K1 Visa. Is this ok?

    k1 visa holder

    5. Non Immigrant visa number: Is this the "control number" that shows on the passport? Where do I get that number?

red # on the right bottom corner of visa

    6. What status did you last entered: I put K1 visa.

    K-1 fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen

    Form I-693:

    1. A-number: Is this the A# shown on the NOA2?

as above, or the one from k1 vis A#

    2. U.S. social: we dont have it yet so I put not available. Is this ok?

    as above - N/A

    Form I-765

    1. Manner of last entry: I put K1 fiance visa. Is this ok?

    K-1 Fiance Visa Holder

    2. Current Immigration status: I put K1 fiance visa. Is this ok?

    Pending Adjustment of Status

    3. Elegibility code: I put (a)(6). Is this the right code for a K1 visa?

K-1 AOS applicants are eligible under ©(9) Adjustment Applicant

  7. You should have received 2 NOA's. The one what USCIS asks about is the second one. My husband said that he's never get it so i didnt attached anything. The proof that you are basing the AOS on a K-Visa process its copy of your K-Visa (u have to attach it anyway) My lawer said that its not a big deal b/c i have K-Visa in my passport so thats the best proof!

Ofcourse you can fill out an I-824 but if i m not wrong it's gonna cost you over $300
