  1. Dear Friends,

Long time no hear from lucas_34. It is with great pleasure to inform you that my wife is already in the USA with me as of last Thursday June 16, and, most importantly as a US Legal Permanent Resident. We are finally through this entire messy process. Awaiting green card in mail and her social as well (I only hope USCIS forwars it to Social Security - if we don't hear in 3 weeks max, we'll go there in person!).

All the best to everyone. We are done once and for all.

    Cheers,

    Lucas

  2. Our AVR message in the NVC has changed yesterday to "We have received your checklist???(hard to understand), please allow 6-8 weeks for processing." We have sent to NVC both packages through our lawyer two weeks ago and received acknowledgement of the receipt by NVC immediately then. What this message could mean? I could not understand the two words in the message and they sounded to me as "check list", but am not too sure.

Anyone please advise? I believe they are now reviewing our AOS and IV packet and if no RFEs the case will be closed in the next couple of days. Am I correct?

Thank you everyone. Soooo close! Excitement!

  3. Erick - all documents (AOS/IV) have been submitted and confirmed by NVC yesterday. Awaiting a decision from NVC now. Good luck to you and your wife! So happy for your expedite.

WOW.... that is wicked fast.... CONGRATS... and good luck getting everything taken care of.

Thank you Lucas... what's the status of your case bro?

    CONGRATS!!!!

NVC sends the request to the respective Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will notify NVC of the results (Approved/Denied). Ultimately, the decision is up to the Embassy/Consulate, as they are the ones that will setup the interview. so.... in a nutshell, NVC "should" be taking care of it. I don't know if contacting the Embassy would do any good or not. Maybe Wade (Sqdngus) could answer this better.

  4. I am only sharing information, not suggesting anyone to do one way or the other. Because we use our lawyer, we did not have the DS-3023 Choice of Agent and received one combined email from NVC with both AOS and IV invoices to be paid. Both were processed and paid at the same time. I, then, thought we could send AOS (as is already ready to be send out) and wait until we gather all docs for IV package, but was told by our lawyer to hold on and send both together as otherwise we will not gain in time, but it would take longer. They have done tons of these cases and can attest to it in terms of timing.

Now I am confused. I have not paid IV fee yet. I was planning to send AOS today. What should I do? Send it today or hold till payment of IV? thanks

  5. Received an email from NVC - contains the attached pdf file with 5 pages. In short - it has AOS and IV instruction to make payment. Now also able to login to the NVC site to make payment. Can I select both AOS and IV and make both of these payments at the same time? Using a lawyer for processing the I-130, so nothing mentioned about the Choice of Agent. Email addressed to a lawyer, but copied both to petitioner and beneficiary. I agreed with the lawyer, that I will make payments myself. Any suggestions before doing so?

  6. Why, when trying to login to the Dept of State NVC I get the following error message:

    Sign In Failed

    * Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error.

Am I being too quick? They have just assigned our case number yesterday! Any thoughts? Thank you!
