  1. After almost 4 years with immigration process, I received my IR1 visa!!! I cannot believe it is done!!!

At the beginning, we applied for K-3 visa and after more than 2 years under administrative processing, we switched to the IR-1 visa. During my IR-1 visa, the Chief of the visa section at the Jerusalem Consulate, was shocked when he found out, according to him, that nobody was working on my case for 2 years because my case was so complicated (I was in prison under Administrative Detention where there was no case and even court as thousands of Palestinians). My wife was with me, and she was angry. He promised to work on my case to help us, and actually he did. He worked on my case, and they were contacting us regularly. After a week from my IR-1 interview, they asked me to send my passport which I did. after 2 weeks, we called DOS, and we found out that my IR-1 visa was issued in April 7th,2011, so we emailed the consulate about this, but they said my case under AP AGIAN. At the same day, I received a call from the consulate to have another interview, and turned out it was with the Homeland Security Office there which I attended. During the interview, they asked me to let my wife contact them to schedule an interview for her. After 2 days of my wife's interview, I received my passport with IR-1 visa!!!!!

    Long Journey!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all.

    Wish luck for the others.

  2. 18 months of AP. Could you believe guys? it's crazy.

We couldn't receive any update rather than "still pending". My wife contacted her representative office a couple of months ago, and they found out through the DOS that my case is done there and it has been in the US Consulate in Jerusalem for few months. We have been trying to contact them since but the same answer "still pending", even the representative office got the same answers.

Anyway, we are now applying for the CR-1, and forget the K-3 visa. We feel that we did a mistake by applying for the

K-3 visa 3 years ago thinking it is more faster than CR-1. In a couple of weeks I will send my documents to the NVC and wait for the interview if things goes well.

At least we are living together.

  4. My husband is Palestininan and is having to enter Israel to go to the Us Consulate in East Jerusalem. He went to the Israelis to ask permission to eneter the date of his interview, which is September 17th, and they denied him entry. Anyone been here and done this and can help give some advice. We are almost there and any dealy would be even harder then its already been, for which you all know, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

I am sure your husband will find away to get into Jerusalem. Did he receive a paper from the consulate saying that he has an interview in September 17th? When I had my interview, the consulate send such a paper, and I attached it with the permit application, and I got 12 hours permit. But, sometimes they deny the permission even if you have such thing.

He should be there early because sometime you can find a line of people in front door, and also, it will take him time to go through the gate, and the security until he gets to the second floor. They opens the door at 8am as far as I know.

I am sure he will be fine, and send me a message if he could not find away to get into Jerusalem without risk being caught and miss the interview. May be I can help in this.

    Best Luck,

  5. In general, they do not give any reason for AP. I believe and trust me this long AP is not based on anything rather than being from the Middle east, an Arab and Muslim. Checking my history does not need years to be cleared. Most of Palestinians, male, that I know went through a long time AP. Ironically, Last month I applied for a visa to England, and I just got a multi entry 6 months visa within 30 days, but for the USA takes ages. I believe they put our files aside waiting someone to decide to check them out. Anyway, At least me and my wife have been living in Palestine more than 3 years, but feeling unstable most of time.

  6. Hi, havent been around for a while. Please anyone give me some info or advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband had his interview at the consulate in jerusalem on JUNE 23, 2009, the co told him everything was fine but they just needed a "no tax letter" from me the petitioner.

The embassy receives the letter a few weeks later, and on JULY 17, 2009, the embassy called my husband and asked him a variety of questions, they asked him questions such as:

    What is you mothers name?

    fathers name

    sisters names

    what do you work

have you ever been out of the country

and they also asked for his haweeya number

The embassy told my husband that they received the letter that was requested after the interview and that they are just going to review his papers one more time and it will take from 1-3 months for them to call him back for his passport.

2 days ago i just received a letter in the mail from the embassy saying (this case is complete but needs additional administrative processing and they will call us as soon as it is complete)

I called DOS and the case is in washinton in AP.

My question is why did they send the case to washington and put him in ap if they already called him and got all their information??????????? He has no criminal record or ANything out of the ordinary, they already questioned him when they called him!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone have any experience, ideas anything, how long can we expect to wait in ap for???? Will it be just like the embassy told my husband when they called him, 1-3 months. And the paper they sent me says that they have completed the case but just needs additonal processing. AND his name is MOHAMMED, common. So how long can we expect to wait for, please anyone help!!

I am sorry to hear this. As you know I have the same experience with the same consulate. The question is that why cannot they just tell after the interview that they need to undertake some additional administrative processing? Why wait after a month or two to say this. Instead they say in the interview everything is fine and you passed the interview and we will contact you to send your passport as what happened with me, and now we are planning to live here in Palestine as result of AP. We cannot be apart for that long.

I keep sending an email every week to the consulate checking my status, and I call the DOS once a week. Do the same and try to be so patient, and do not let this AP effects your daily life, be strong. It something we have to go through. Yes, coming to Palestine for a visit will help.

  7. Rami-Becky - that was a troll looking to stir up trouble via stalking.

I hope my English is good to understand this. You meant that it was just somebody post something or unreal story to make a trouble, and deceive the people here. Right? new expression.

  8. Hi

I do not know if Myownwords can read my comments to her story. I feel I need to say a couple of things.

First, No one can represent Islam, but always Islam represent itself. You had a bad experience with your husband not with Islam, and everything that he did to you does not related to Islam. He is just a bad person. I do not want to be rude here, but It was your fault from the beginning when you converted to Islam and wear al-hjab just for your husband not following and believe in the Islam rule. You just let a bad person to enter your life and manipulated you , and you were ready to do anything to let him love you. Nothing wrong with this, but following Islam just for him and you are not believe in it was wrong. I am muslim and my wife is not, and I have never asked her to convert or wear al-hijab for me. I want her to believe in Islam first because I am aware if she became muslim just for me, in one point and if we have a problem and separate she will leave Islam. Again Islam represents itself.

About your husband you do not need to cry about him because he does not deserve any feeling. Just go ahead with your life. Love and marry be happy with the right person.

To all people who felt insulted because of her post. I feel different here that they are many people in this world always use Islam to get what they want and as result people misunderstood Islam. Like telling her to wear al-hijab and he drinks alcohol. It is stupid.

    Sorry for the inconvenience

  9. Hi, I called the DOS to ask about my administrative processing status. She told me that she can see some actions but still pending. When I asked her what are these actions? She said that she does not know but hopefully it will not take long time.

Some actions? Is it a good sign, or just always like this with others? Is it mean that they are doing something? I do not know. I am just curious and impatient.

  10. Well, guys that were in that grouped email from Cairo same as we were.. Keep an eye out on DHL and track your package. He just received his Visa and will be leaving Tuesday!!!:dance:

    Congratulation

  11. thank you imaisha for your answer, i will ask her to see if she can get aletter from her employer and no , we did not fill any petition yet cuz she just found a job last week thank you again for your help

If you haven't filed a petition yet then there's no need to ask for the letter now. Current processing times are 5 months, so you should plan to start working on that part of the process just a little bit before then.

hi imaisha , thanks alot for your help but im still a little confused, im new here and i would love to ask you some question

1- which option you think is better K3 or CR-1 ?

2- you mean that i won't need the sponsoring form till later and she can fill the petition for me now?

3- how long does it take to get a visa ?

thank you so much and good luck for you too

Apply to CR-1 is much better than K-3 one. They created K-3 to let a spouse of USC to be with his/her family in the US within a short time, and then they have to apply for Adjustment of Status "AOS". But, Nowadays, K-3 takes almost the same amount of time that you need for the CR-1. Apply for CR-1 is good in long term. Basically with CR-1 you are applying for your green card from overseas. Once you enter the USA with CR-1, they will send your green card by mail to your address in the USA. Also, you do not need to apply for work permit, but with K-3 visa, you need to apply for a work permit and AOS as soon as you get there, and it takes time and money. :guides: We made a mistake for applying for

    k-3.

Time of getting a visa is different from case to case, but prepare yourself for long wait especially for the MENA applicants, and you are. The average time waiting for you petitions I-130 & I-129F in USCIS is 6 months, and then you need a couple of months until they schedule your interview at the US embassy. It depends Maybe more or less. If everything goes fine at your interview, probably they will issue your visa in one week or one month. BUT Most applicants who are from the MENA "Middle East and North Africa" go through AP administrative processing. In this stage No one can give you a specific time to be done with it even the embassy itself. Maybe It will take a week or months or a year or two. It is really hard process and you need to be prepared.

We start this process for my K-3 over a year ago, and I have been on AP over 3 months as you can see on my timeline. I am sorry, but this is the truth about this process.

  12. Hi Guys,

    Anyone, From PAK...! on AP..?

How much time its take to be over,,,,?

    any idea..

You can find many applicants from Pakistan who are pending AP. Look at this thread. You can find a list of them " AP TRAKER" topic

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=145739

    Look at this spreadsheet,

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pGV...s4pIA&hl=en

No one can tell how long it could take. There is a possibility to be done in a week, months or a year. I have been under AP for almost 3 months. Hope your AP finish soon.

  13. I am Rami, Palestine and married to Rebecca “Becky”, TX. I have been here in VJ for a short time, but it help me a lot. I hadn’t a chance to introduce us, so it is a great thread. I was a teacher and now unemployed. My wife also an English teacher. I want to share with you how I met my beloved. It was summer 2007, and I was sitting in a cafe with friends when I got a call from the director assistant of the English language Center in the Arab American University. As I was working and volunteering as a guide and interpreter/translator in my area Jenin, she asked me to come to the university and help a new teacher to go and do some shopping. The university is little bit far from the city in the countryside, and the university was off, The new teacher just arrived the night before, and there was nobody help her. I asked her name and how old she is. The director assistant told me that she is in her 50s. I told her that you always bring old teachers, and said what about young teachers? She laughed. Anyway, The next day I called a taxi and went to pick the new teacher up. I still remember that day. It was nice and sunny. It was the most precious day in my life. When the taxi entered the campus, there was a beautiful young girl standing in front of the ELC. The ELC located on a hill inside the university where the young girl was standing like sun with her blond shinny hair. Her shadow was stretching down while we were driving up hill. The driver asked me if she was the new teacher, and I said no. There was nobody there except her. I just passed by her and went inside the building. There was nobody in there. Then I decided to ask the only girl there, but the director assistant told me she is in her 50s, and the young girl looked in her 20s. there was a big difference between the two ages, so I got little bit hesitated. I just went toward her and could not speak. Then she asked my name, and then without thinking I told her “you supposed be in you 50s” and then said “nothing do not worry”. The director assistant was joking with me. Usually I talk a lot when I met some one for the first time “ bad habit” , but with her I could not. I felt from the beginning there was something. Instead of one hour shopping, we spent the entire day together shopping, roaming around, and I introduced her to my family, and they likes her a lot. Here the other fanny thing. When my mother saw her and sat together for almost one hour, she took me aside and told me this “ Listen, go a propose for her now” Then I laughed a lot and told my mother there is nothing, and we just met, and I am working. It was funny. The we went to a café chat little bit for almost 2 hours. It was the most beautiful day ever. After that we started meeting each other now and then, do some trips with other people, and after a month, I told her about my feeling. After 4 moths we get engaged, after six months we got married and had our wedding party here in Palestine. Some of her family attended the wedding. It was quick marriage according to many people, but we were sure about each other, and we did not wan to play around. Now we have been married for almost two years. We lived together most of the time, but the administrative processing separates us for almost 3 months. We love each other so much even sometime we think it is not just love, but something behind love. We went through difficult situations, but our love stand. I love her, and I want to be with her for entire my life. She is not just my dreams, but my reality. I hope this immigration process will not affects our relationship. I hope all the same.
