We had our AOS interview today at the Detroit USCIS. We arrived 30 minutes early went inside, dropped our 797 form at the window and waited for them to call our name. They called us 10 minutes before our scheduled appointment, so that was cool.
Our adjucator was a younger woman, very nice. She sat us down, asked for Alejandra's parole documents, her last I-94, and her work card.
She asked if we wanted to show evidence of our relationship, i gave her a copy of our bank statement, car insurance, title to a car in both our names, health insurance, and a utility bill with both names. That was it!! I said that i have pictures, she didn't even ask to see them, she said she doesn't like to take people's pictures from them.
She then asked us how we met, when did we start dating, and when did she come to the US. At that point she commented that we won't need those documents back, because we'll get the Green Card in a couple weeks. So basically 10 minutes into it we knew we were approved.
Very easy, and actually a little anticlimatic, but still a great day

Went back to the Secretary of State with our marriage license and NOA's, they are faxing to Lansing for approval. <fingers crossed>

It was a jab at "the process", not "the people"
-
There's so many people who are here illegally, driving illegally, working illegally, and the people that do things "the right way" have to jump through innumerable hoops. It's ridiculous.

The Green card is still in process.

K1 Visa. Married and applied for Residency (i-485). The I-94 expired on Feb 14th and now we can't get a license, how do I prove her presence is legal?
I've been on the phone for hours and gotten nowhere. DMV said "well they just need to change her status" lol....yeah. So easy to do.
Would an infopass appointment do me any good?

For Michigan apparently the EAD is on the list....but how would Advanced Parole play into this? She got that approved, but would she get a new I-94 if she left the US and then came back?
-
Ok, my wife came on a K-1 Fiance visa, we got married and applied for adjustment of status all within the 90 days. The I-94 on her visa expired on Feb 14th. We tried to get a drivers license today and they wouldn't do it because the I-94 is expired, they told me i either need to get it updated or need her residency (which is in process but could be months)....
I don't even know who to call for help???
PLEASE HELP ME!

Can someone help me out here, I think I'm missing something.
I sent in the 485, the EAD, and Adv Parole all together, with one Check, I included the document that requested electronic communication, and sure enough when they received the documents i got several notifications.
In the mail I got a letter with an MSC number for each of the three documents. There was a 4th MSC number on the back of my check that was cashed. The number from the check is the only one that comes up when I go to
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do
I recvd these on Jan 4th. I've called several times to ask why I can't see them online and I always get "the system hasn't refreshed". Well I got an RFE for no marriage certificate, which is stupid, since it was in my packet. Ok, so I sent it back to them. USPS shows they received it, but it doesn't show onling.
We had our biometrics yesterday, and still only one MSC number shows online.
How is everyone getting notified of "touches" etc. Did I miss something??

We went to Dr Haddad in Dearborn with just copies of vaccinations from our heath department. No physical was required because she was a K1. He charged us $75, cash only

Chinman joining the December party.....just mailed out all the packets today, 12/24
Merry Christmas to all.

ok, so on our adjustment of status documents, what should I use for the A#?
There is an A number on the 797 NOA form in the same box as my fiancee's name Axxx xxx xxx
But I also read that it is the red number in the lower right section of the K1, underneath the expiration date.
But for us these numbers don't match.....so which is correct?

If I look here:
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5753-Immunization.pdf
the colored bar chart for someone 27-49 years old, this would indicate that only Tdap, Varicella, and MMR, are required. The purple are "optional" unless some other risk factor is identified right?
I ask because in particular we can't find the seasonal flu vaccinne here anywhere, but I don't think we need it.

Thanks everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to make sure I understand everything about this before I get anything started.
1- As a K-1 who just had her exam in October my fiancee doesn't need a second physical right? (One civil surgeon I called said she did, and the cost would be $300).
2- I printed out Reccomended Immunization schedule, and for a healthy 34 year old, she only needs the vaccinations highlighted in those columns, which should also be shown on the I-693 chart. She doesn't need ALL the vaccines shown on the I-693, just the ones that match up with the reccomended list right?
3- She can have some of these done at the local Health Department (cheaper) and take the record of it to this civil surgeon right?
4- We then take the I-693 and medical shot record to them, the complete it, certify it and give back to us right?
Sorry for all the questions, but this is not crystal clear. Any helpful suggestions for Michigan people?

I think she did get a form, outside of the DHL package, that was a list of vaccinations. That's probably the one. So basically we need to go to a specified civil surgeon here, or will my family doctor suffice?
-
Congrats Sandi, what a great feeling!!!!!
-
Please help me understand....We just got an approved k1, she hasn't entered the USA yet. My fiancee tells me she doesn't have a vaccination history, as she's gone to a lot of different doctors in Mexico.
I've read about completing a 693 form and DS-3025 vaccination record. Are we supposed to have the 3025 or is that in the package that we give to customs at the POE?
Will we get a copy to get the rest of the needed vaccinations?
Do those have to be done by specific doctors?
Thanks!

There is a banamex directly across from the consulate, inside the mall. Just go in and say that you need to pay the visa fee, and they give you a receipt. That's it.
-
The letter arrived in about a week.
DHL delivered the visa this morning and Ale picked it up at 9:30, I booked all of our flights, and we are out of here!!!
-
DId DHL just say "Shipment Acknowledged"?
-
i walked to the consulate to go inside and ask them, and they said I have to wait until morning to go to the information window.
Has the consulate not sent it or has DHL not picked it up or what? I want to get the hell out of here. I'm sure they'll say, it hasn't been 3 days yet....blah blah blah.

She kept the parole documents. She wanted to keep the work card, but my wife is starting a job tomorrow and I asked if we could keep that just in case, and she said yes. She kept the statements and other documents I gave in and pu them in our file. She didn't ask to see the pictures at all.
