hi there! i was just curious because just a few hours ago the USCIS website was updating the Online Case Status and my question is... how will i know if my case is being review by USCIS personnel? I know the term is "touch"... it's just when i logged in a few minutes ago, the "last updated date" has been changed but the case status or info content is still the same info from the time that they notified me that my application has been received... could this be consider as "touched" since the last updated date has been changed? thank you for you time and i hope that i'm making sense asking this question...

I was curious about how the Filipina's that are now living in the USA feel about the food here.

There are lot's of different types of food, from fast-food to Italian and Mexican.

How do you ladies find the food compared to back home? My Fiancee thinks maybe her palate won't be adjusted to the food here, and she won't really care for it. I keep telling her that there's no way she won't like a chicken or beef fajita plate, or a good 'ol texas cheeseburger, or maybe a slab of good lasagna.

Fast-food is pretty much the same everywhere, but how do yall like the real restaurant foods?

i remember 15yrs ago when i first got here that I couldn't stand the taste of a chili burger or anything that has chili in it... the taste is just so bad and also the smell... also i hate salad, don't eat any pasta, hate mexican food... all i remember is that i was basically stuck with just FILIPINO food. luckily i live in california where there are flip grocery store around. eventually overtime i've learned to eat them. in fact, im so crazy with olive garden, any kind of seafood, fast food like del taco/ taco bell... and im so so so crazy with souplantantion.... i hope that your fiancee will get a hang of it... eventually she'll get use to it.

first of, Congratulations!!! finding filipino fruits is a toughy job and it really depends on what state or community you live in. i haven't heard any online store where you can purchase but if you do have any asian store nearby sometime they carry some tropical fruits not fresh but frozen. i hope that you're close to any asian grocery store or even chinatown.... good luck

I just started a new job a little while ago and can't get vacation for a bit so it doesn't look I can fly back from Manila with Diana. We plan on having her fly from Manila to LAX on a Friday and I will fly from DFW, meet her at LAX we spend the night in LA then Sat. AM we fly back to DFW. She is worried about transferring in airports hence the direct flight.

Have people done the entry alone or is the fiance always there? I have heard LAX POE referred to as a tough one several times in these message boards are they tough on K1 people or is it just the chaos that is LAX? Do I need to find a way to somehow get on the flight from Manila with her? Have any of you women come through LAX alone and met your husband/fiance outside customs?

nothing to worry about POE... really the only thing that they're going to ask is about your fiancee, when is the wedding and stuff like than. my friend's fiancee now husband didn't have a problem. it was fast. good luck.

Who has booked a one way flight for their SO on these airlines, I was told if I purchased I would have to be flying also.

my suggestion is that to ask the person who's flying to purchase the ticket at the ticketing office of the airline. i believe any of the online reservation needs the purchaser or card holder to be one of the travelers. good luck.

anyone here fly by eva air? we are contemplating between eva air and hawaiian airlines to sac,ca..... the former is really cheap at 431usd(inclusive of tax) one way on sept but are there any issues at taipei stop-over? if ever i will have 5 hrs of waiting to leave again to sac. Will i be able to go out the airport for window shopping perhaps just to burn my time? ive been to taiwan (taipei)before but on work visa so i dont know if we needed visa to be able to get out of the airport while waiting on board again.

or other airline suggestions are welcome.

hi there! i am not really sure with eva air in terms of stop over but what i know for sure is that once you're in for a stop over you're not allowed to get out of the airport. any airlines will do... if you find good deals that's within your budget then go for it. i know for a fact that Hawaiian Airlines is somehow cheap with a 70lbs/each check in baggage allowance compared to the other airlines, i've also find china air is one of the cheapest also. i guess the only airline im pretty much hesitant of taking as of this moment is korean maybe because of the threat of nuclear... hope that this helps... good luck.

SITUATION: im petitioning my fiancee, but i do have a mini dillema when it comes filling out the application. On the G-32A (Biographic Information), it's asking for the applicant's residence for the last five years... currently as we filled out the application he is residing in qatar (this would be his current) but on june or july this year he will be going back to the philippines for good and wait fo the response from the embassy.

QUESTION: what do i need to put in to the address? will it matter if we just put in he's address from qatar as current since that's where he is now or should we add his address in the philippines although he is not there yet? If we just put his address in qatar as current, will the embassy be sending the letter to qatar or the address in the philippines where he's going to have his future interview?
