  1. hi everyone! my husband came to the U.S. with a K-1 Visa, he then received his Permanent Resident Card (green card) as well as his Employment Authorization after we filed for AOS. had a glimpse of his Employment Authorization and noticed that it is going to expire sometime February of 2011, my question is that, does he need to renew his Employment Authorization since his SS Card has a notation that it is only be "valid for work only with DHS authorization"? Thank you...

  2. thank you for the advice.

i hope everything will be okay.

    taga-asa diay ka? :D

hi pookie! taga Cebu ko... musta naman imong preparation sa imong interview/ medical?

  3. hi there pookie! as far as i can remember from our application process, SLEC will need the NOA2 and also the interview date confirmation that will be e-mailed to you or fiance(e). Not to discourage you or anything but, yes there has been a lot of negative feedbacks in terms of the X-ray results and it will definitely delay the process... My best suggestion for you is to get enough rest... and since your from davao ill just say it in my dialect that's close to yours... inom kuno permi ug gatas kay makatabang kuno na... goodluck...

  4. Hi,

Another January filer who got the transfer notice to CSC on Feb. 9 noted this case update in the Jan. filers forum. You should probably call USCIS about it if you did not send any appeal.

Here is what I found posted by a lawyer from some other site:

A posting on the USCIS site stating that a case was returned from the AAO to the USCIS generally means that the file has gone back to the service center that made the original decision on the case that was appealed. To identify the reason / status, one does generally have to contact USCIS via the National Customer Service Center.

Therefore, you should contact USCIS about this.

    Good luck!

    Tina

I think if it really was transferred to CSC, you should have received a hard copy stating that your case has been transferred. And then another notification that the case is now pending at the USCIS office. Otherwise, I presume that it got sent to AAO in error.

well first we did receive a letter saying that the case was forwarded to CSC but after a week another letter received that states the case was returned AAO

  5. hi fellow VJers... just wondering if anyone of you came across to this kind of situation... i just checked online check status and found out that I-485 "On February 16, 2010, the Administrative Appeals Office returned this case. If your case was remanded or your appeal was sustained, we will notify you of our action within 60 days of the date of the AAO decision." does anyone know what this means? intially about 2-3 weeks ago we have received an RFE requiring the applicant to send the I-693 and currently we are working on that. then on feb. 9 online check of status updated and show that the application been forward to CSC for faster processing and now this notice. please help... what should we do?

  6. my husband is in the process to adjust his status from a K1 visa holder to a green card holder... as of this time, we havent receive any appointment for biometrics or letter involving his AOS (since we just sent it last January 8th). how soon can my husband petition his parents??? can he start the process now or wait til he receive his green card? thanks

  7. Is dengue fever and typhoid fever under infectious diseases? and if one had been previously hospitalized with those diseases, will that be a problem during the medical?

    Thanks!

hi nicegirl! to my knowledge those disease are definitely infectious but don't think that St. Luke's will be looking at that... it is more on STD's and stuff like that.... good luck

  8. Will it be easy to find one another? Is the waiting area to pickup people easy to find?

GD, my suggestion would be to go to Tom Bradley PAL terminal (i believe that it is Terminal 4 - not quiet sure) and tell Diana that you'll wait for her by/next to the INFORMATION booth at the arrival/ receiving area, that way if there is a need for you to page her overhead then it is easy for you coz your already there. Again, not sure if they're still renovating but I wish you and Diana the best of luck!

  9. She's got globe telecom. Their site says it would work in the US. She says it will probably depending on the SIM card. I want her to call me when she lands at LAX before she hits immigration and obviously after so we can find one another. She's leaving next friday so I don't think I have time to send another phone.

Also have people picked up people at LAX tom bradley before? I've only passed through on my way to other terminals and never really paid attention to where a pick up place would be. Will it be easy to find one another? Is the waiting area to pickup people easy to find? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

GD, LAX is pretty much chaotic especially now that they're renovating the arrival/receiving area... depends on what airline and time of Diana's arrival... by the way, has she receive her visa? well, if you don't mind giving me the info i could probably help...

  10. Well I just got the call from my wife and she got her pink slip!

Here is how it all went and took like 3 minutes.

9/4/09 at 6:30 am was the scheduled time.

    Questions were:

What is your name? What is your birthday? When were you married? What is your husband's name? Where does he live? What does he do?

"Congratulations and welcome to the United States of America" the interviewer said.

He said the visa will arrive in under 10 days. She told the American interviewer "ohhh, you are gwapo, like my asawa" I am sure glad she waited to after the interview to say that and not before

I want to thank this site for all the information. One great point she took with her was to look into the eyes of the interviewer when answering questions to show you are not lying.

Anyway all, once the visa comes to her in the mail the plane ticket will be purchased. I am off to look at the message boards on plane flights. Any people planning on flying from Manila to the West coast of the USA in 2 weeks?

I am so happy and so in love!

    SKI

Congratulations to the both of you..

  11. Because of a medical situation in the Philippines , we have to change our medical and interview plans . So I have a couple of questions that I hope I can get some help for .

#1) How many days does it take for St.Lukes to send info to Embassy ?

#2) We are going to ask CO if we can pick up the visa , so how long (days) does it take to be able to go back and get visa ?

    basic outline is as follows..

Tue & Wed do medical ..

    Fri have the interview..

Hopefully can pick up visa on Monday.

I know I am assuming alot here , but this is our best case senerio.

I hope someone has a answer.

    Thanks to all

as far as i know that USEM suggest to do the medical a week apart... in terms of picking up the visa i have read somewhere here in VJ or USEM website that you need to inform the consul who will be interviewing you but it is a 50-50 chance that you'll be able to pick up the visa. also, it will take 3-5 business days to process the visa itself... so just try asking st. lukes and also USEM/ consul. hope this helps...

  12. So do they have to go to St. Mary's to get this sticker? Are there places around Manila to do this thing? Thank.
