  1. I am a LPR. Very close to apply for my USC. My wife and daughter lives in Bangladesh. I have applied for them in 2004 and their case is already completed at NVC on Feb 11th 2009. I called NVC about the case and they told me they are waiting on visa number to be available. Ment by in few weeks I will qualify to apply for my USC. I need to know what are the documents I need to send with my N400 application. Please help me with the information. Since my wife lives in Bangladesh we do not have any joint insurance. But we do have a joint bank account over in Bangladesh. I filed my tax return as " Married filing seperately" since my wife does not have a social security number. But I have applied for a ITIN number for my wife last time I filed my return. Please provide suggestions and idea to get my USC certificate at the quickest possible time. I am tired of waiting. Thanks.

  2. Any VJ member who is a GCH and have brought spouse in the USA as a LPR, please post the timeline.....really appreciated. Your wife is in the F2a category. Currently, visas are available for F2a with PD July 1, 2004 and earlier. Hopefully, your wife's PD will be current within 2009. There is no way to predict when your wife's PD will be current. Based on past movements of the PDs within the F2a category, I guess her PD will be current by September. This is only a guess, it could be sooner or later.

Thanks for the input. I hope it will be before september. NVC automated voice systme says in 8 weeks I will be notified about my next step. I read another post from one VJ member he was also a LPR and he got his wife's interview scheduled 6 months before the PD. Thanks.

  5. Hi love bird! I am also from f2a category from philippines my PD is january 2005 almost close to your wife's PD. I just want to ask when did NVC starts to sent paper works to you and to your wife (choice of agent form, DS 230, etc) because after my petition got approved last oct 2008 and recieved one letter from NVC with new NVC case number until now I haven't received anything from NVC considering that my PD is just 1 month behind your wife's PD. thank you!

You should get choice of agent form by this time. Usually they start the process about a year before the PD becomes current. If you moved to a new address after filing ur case then u need to call NVC and update ur address and then they will send another copy of the choice of agent letter to you. Your wife should also receive the same letter by this time. If none of you received the letter, I would go ahead and call NVC.

  6. Hi all,

My wife's interview is on March 11th. Will they ask her for the 2008 Federal Tax Return during her interview??? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would go ahead and file my 2008 tax return. As there is a high possibility that the embassy might ask for it. I know few instances in my country's embassy where they ask for latest tax return papers though April 15 is not over yet. Good luck.
