  1. Hi

The best way to handle this is to tell the truth at the time of the interview if u do not want to delay ur case. If you want to reconsider to make the changes on the form and resend it again, might delayed the case substantially. You can call NVC and explained to them what went wrong. My understanding so far it is much more easy to make changes here in the USA rather to the local consulate. U can call NVC they might send an explanation note to the local consulate. The NVC folks are very helpful.

  2. Please read the following situation and give your advice-

My friend's father's case just completed at NVC last week. His dad is waiting for the interview to be scheduled. But there is a problem. His father came to usa in 1990 on a business visa with 30 days term. but he stayed for years and went back home in 1997. during this period he went to his country once under payroll for seven days. now his case is completed what he should say during the interview.

  3. I130, Both Parents.

    Requested for more evidence:

Do any VJ members got the same letter like mine which says " Delayed registration: It appears that the birth certificate for 'My Name' has a delayed registration date of approximately 28 years after the event. Please submit secondary evidence to substantiate the document and the all alleged relationship. Refer to the information that follows for additional information.

Documentation to Support the birth registration: Submit secondary evidence to support the claimed relationship between the petitioner and beneficiary. Examples of secondary evidence are as follows:(Submit as many of the items as possible.)

Residence: Documentation showing that both the father and child's primary residence was one in the same during the child's childhood.

Please provide your suggestions how to prove the relationship.

    Thanks.

  4. Hello all VJ experts

I applied for my parents through I130 on December 2009. Today I got a mail stating that USCIS needs additional information on my case. Do you guys have any idea or please share your experience if you have a reference in your case. And how long it's going to take to approve after submitting all my additional documents. I hope not another 3 months.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. I have a question regarding to DS -3032 . Could I send the DS- 3032 right after the case assigned without receiving the Ds-3032 packet with AOS fee bill ? I mean that I can write down the case # in the Ds 3032 and send them even when I haven't received my Ds-3032 packet. :innocent:

I believe that will not be a very good idea. Caz NVC process documents in different stages, if u send any document to NVC which were not requested by them might make delays on your case processing. good luck.

  6. hi guys, i have a question. if your name was included in the IV bill invoice, should we pay it? we are not really sure about the approval date and if we are still covered by the cspa.. so if your name was included in the invoice, can that guarantee that we are indeed included and we must pay it asap? around $400 for the IV bill invoice per applicant.. (: TIA!

    category:F4 (derivative beneficiary)

If your name is on the invoice you should pay the IV bill asap. even if you are now over the age limit that's not gonna hurt you for the cspa act. my uncle applied for his brother my another uncle who has a daughter over the age limit but her name was included on the invoice, they paid the bill and last month all the family members of my uncle got visa. so don't make any delays. good luck.

  7. I just need somebody to help me understand what proof do you provide that his brother is not paying me for him to come to america...and that we are in love

Sorry to hear about your situation. Now you need to prove the long term realtionship. You may use papers like joint bank account, insurance, any property jointly owned. If you send money from here to him that will be also a very strong evidence. Your phone call bills with numbers showing his and yours another strong document to prove the long term relationship. Thanks.

  8. Applied for both of my parents December 2009. Received NOA1 in 10 days but after that nothing is happening. Any idea how long it's going to take. My USCIS office is California. According to their estimates it is five months. But I know it takes less than that. I am saying that because cousin's case get's approved in 8 weeks though he had a IR1 category. But the timeline for his case also said five months but got approved in 8 weeks. If any one recently get any approval please updates me and other VJ's users.

One more thing after approval how long it's going to take at NVC to complete the whole process.

Thanks, any feedback will be appreciated.

  9. Please help me...................

My mother in law had her immigrant visa interview about 3 months ago. The embassy kept their passport and gave 221(g) mentioning that embassy will contact shortly. It's been 3 months and I checked the status with the embassy and they said the embassy administratively refused the case and they are dong standard processing now and will let us know about thier decission. If any of you have the same status and what happened next please let us know. Should we call the embassy and asked them whether they need any more information or documents. Thanks.

  10. my sister in law paid their IV receipt online... her husband is the petitioner and she is the applicant. does she need to fill up DS230 for herself and each one for their children? so 1 ds230 for each???? does the children need police certificate? help asap.. tnxzzz

Need to fill out DS 230 both part for each intending travelling members. Applicant does not need to fill out DS 230. DS230 is required for all the persons who are gonna face the visa interview.

For police certificate if intending travelling member is 16 years or older then they need to get police certificates.

    Good luck.

  11. My wife's visa interview was scheduled on 2nd june 2006 at 8 am. she went there with my daughter at 6.30 am. thought she was there almost hour and half early there were 17 people infront of her. but i guess she was lucky, it started raining around 7.30 am so the officer in the embassy informed the security gurad to let the people in first who are very old and with kids. My 3 year old daughter then played a very important part to get infront of the line. Fron 17th she moved to 2nd. Then at 8 am they let them in on to the embassy one by one. I would like to suggest all members to check there local embassy'w web site for the visa interview checklist. what happend then was very sad for some people. according to our local embassy interview checklist all IV applicant must bring additional questionear filled at the time of their interview. my wife told me most of the people did not know about it and people from the embassy were telling them to fill out the form right away. some people then agin get behind for the form.

at 8.15 am my wife went for her first interview and finger print. the co was very nice and asked my wife whether she has brought all the documents or not. my wife said yes. then she was busy with the computer for few seconds and asked for the lates tax file return of mine. my wife gave it to her and she did not even loook on the paper and gave back to my wife. then she showed a family picture to my daughter and asked her which one is me on the picture. my daughter alhamdulliah was able to show me on the picture. the she told them to wait for the second interview.

after 4 hours of waiting my wife's was called for the second interview. this time it was a foreign lady and she asked my wife which speaking language she would prefer to speak. she told bangla. then she told my wife to take the oath and sign ds230. after that she wanted to see some pictures. i told my wife to take lot of pictures with her. she gave the co all the pictures. then she asked from where i graduated, where i work now, my current living state, how many times i went to visit bangladesh. after that she said congratulaions and welcome to USA.

overall, my wife told me it was a very smooth process. but the waiting time was killing her. i hope these information might help someone like me.

  12. ::dance: :dance: :dance:

i'm so happy, i got approved today, the interview was easy and questions were expected, the CO didn't ask me to show any evidences but i asked her if she wanted to see the photo album and she said ok....she was really nice and she told me that i can come back tomorrow at 3 pm to pickup the visa

thanks to VJ , thanks to the guides and the help of people here, we were able to finish the visa process without any complications

good luck to all of you who are waiting :star:

Alhamdulliah, wish you all the best.

  13. Attention GC holder awaiting for family member to join with you-

When I started to seach for green card holders timeline (time frame to bring spouse) in different immigration web sites I could not find very much information. VJ's web site provided some timeline but was not in very deatil. Since this web site was very helpful in many ways, I decided to give a very detail timeline for my case. Please check my timeline if you have applied for your spouse and waiting. It will give you some idea about your waiting. I have waited four years and five months to get the interview date. Please wish me luck. If anyone need any other help plz buzz me. Thanks.

  14. i am US permanent residency(green card holder) from three years.i was back my country last august and marry with my girlfriend.now i am back in US.so what is the best way to bring my wife in USA as soon as fast.i heard if i apply from green card it takes long time.so for me, its hard to live without my wife and she is always feeling sad without me.so plz help me

Your situation is very much like me. I am also a LPR. I have been waiting for my wife to come over here for the last four and half years. But I did apply for my wife as soon as I got my green card. I would say do not make any delay go ahead and apply for her right now. If you are late one day your wife's case will be delayed one day. Good thing you will get your USC in few years and you can expedite the case then. But don't wait till then apply right now.

I will apply for my USC next month when it will be approved then I will expedite my wife's case. I know how painful is the waiting.

The other option you have is to tell your wife to apply for a job in any US compay.

Another option you have keep applying for the diversity visa (DV) program (I don't know your country is eligible or not).

If you apply for her now make sure you keep doing the following things-

Notify all about your address change.

Keep each and every document that you are providing financial support to her.

File your tax on time and save all the documents including W2. Married but filing seperately should be your option. You get an ITIN number for your wife easily. You need to file a IRS W7 form.

Copy for your long distance phone calls you made to her if applicable.

Emails and other documents of communication.

Try to have a joint bank account, insurance etc.

I have spent a lot of time to know about these things. I know the pain of waiting. Good luck with your case. If you need any other information buzz me or any other VJ member.

VJ is one of the best inforamative site to know aobut immigration status. I like to thank all VJ members for being so helpful to each other. I have waited for my wife to be her for a very long time, but the good news the waiting is almost over. May be 2/3 more months. Please wish me luck. Thanks.

  15. Since you're not filing as a LPR married to a US citizen, you don't have to provide evidence like joint bank accounts etc. to receive your citizenship (you might have to prove the validity of your marriage for your wife's visa though). Just send in the papers you need as a LPR after 5 years of permanent residency which might include your tax returns, no matter if you filed jointly or separately. And make sure you prove that you provided for your wife and daughter in Bangladesh financially.

Good luck to you! That's a long time to be apart.

    Thanks a lot.
