International driving permit from PI is my saving grace. It saved me from getting bored and staying home while my husband was at work. I was able to go around the state using it without any problem for one year. But, of course my husband was there to guide me on my 1st tries. Until it expired, then I was ready to take the road test and the computer test. I also used my waiting time (for visa) to take driving lessons while in the Philippines. At least I wasn't ignorant on how things work and did not start from zero when I get here. Of course,I had to learn the rules, especially the STOP signs.

Yes, I noticed that in Ohio, that there are not many Filipinas around! We are also in Ohio, in Fairborn. It would be hard in the beginning but she'll get over it.

I have been waiting for the SSN to arrive in the mail since I got here and it has been 2 months and nothing has come. So, my husband and i decided to just apply directly to the SSA local office and after a week, we got my SScard. So, I suggest to those who applied for CR1 to apply for their SSN as soon as they get to US, so you can enjoy the benefits of having your SSN. ^ ^ That is based on my experience and what I think is better to do.

Sorry for those who has no idea of what I'm talking about. I just want to let those people who know the case from the beginning, that we haven't gotten our money back and the case is still on fire. ^ ^

As for Xylide, she is not part of the game. But she decided that her family should stop working on it. But, I'm still hoping that she would be willing to work this out with me and my family. The game is still on.

If you listen to DZBB, Mike Enriquez, at 11:00 am, the case is already being /is going to be discussed until Friday (this week). And it's now at DTI-Dept. of Industry. I recorded the news clip through cell phone today, but I still have to figure out how to share it.

I'm wondering if the Social Security administration will send me my SSN...or do I need to personally apply for it in their office? I thought that if you filed for CR1, in which we filled out a form where we are asked if we like to apply for SSN and send it to us by mail, we don't need to apply personally once we get to US. But, please let me know because I badly need my SSN. Have a great time VJers.

Yes, Xylide, I suggest your cousin to be a witness. She should not act as an accomplice. When we were there and she told us that Laarni wasn't there, neither at her condo unit. I asked her to give me the unit number so we could check and she said, "No, she isn't really there." And, I felt bad when she said that. She should have helped us. She should have been more helpful. Your mom told my mom that we aren't the only victims, your cousin should have known that because we aren't the only complainants. Laarni got around 200, 000 and I don't know where she uses the money. Tell Arla to be brave enough and be a witness in case our imbestigador is pushed through this end of August. She should have a word, whether she is 16 years old, A.P., or whatever. She was there during the transaction,she was there when we complaint. She knows exactly what happened. And being 16 years old and a minor, laarni got another case to face about that.

Use the media to tell your story. VJ is just one of them. We have YouTube, Facebook, Friendster, Blogpost.... internet could reach anyone. Include all the people involve... you mentioned laarni, xylide and xylide's cousin...

But before you do it, talk to a lawyer to know your boundaries. You want to nail them... NAIL THEM HARD!

Wow this is so scary. Sorry for what you been through Pinay American...$800 bucks is not a joke. I got my ticket directly from the PAL ticketing center in the Airport. My husband booked it online and after that he just send me the money thru western union. On the day of my flight I just went straight to the ticketing area in the Airport and pay my ticket there. Right there and then they give me my ticket. No hassle at all.

Yeah, we can't just sit and relax when we are facing a case like this. That was the reason I posted this thread... to finaly hear from you xylide, for vj members to be aware of agencies, etc. No bad intention at all. But, please, don't leave me hanging. We need each other and you really have to help me with this problem. And just like what I told you, ACTION is much needed, don't just wait for a result which might not come. Hope that we get our money back. It worries me and it worries my family. ACTION and COOPERATION, that's all!

I'm glad that Xylide is now visible. Xylide, it isn't my intention to brigh this topic up. But it has been a long time since it happens and you have been quiet for such time and it bothers me a lot.
