  1. Well it appears by the very limited info on your timeline that she arrived in late 2013 or early 2014??? If so she will be coming up on her 3 year timeline for citizenship... Why not just wait till that completes and then you can come and go as you please... I made sure my wife got her's before we even considered leaving the USA for our retirement... You have spent a lot of time money and effort to get this far, why would you through that all away??? Think it over the N400 process is pretty quick and straight forward... Then you are completely finish with INS forever... Great feeling trust me...

  2. Wow, I have written invitation letters for 7 people in Thailand, some family(in-laws) some friends of my wife and I... All have been approved for 10 year multi visas... 1 of them had been denied previously and with my letter he was approved... So yes it does make a difference and shows they have a support network in the USA...

  3. We wound up going this route after we filed for the K1, they lost our K1 for over 22 months.. The good thing was that like you my fiancé (Wife and US Citizen today) had a 10 year B2 visa... On her 3rd trip to visit, without planning to do so we just got married after waiting so long... We had a ton of valid supporting documents at the interview for her AOS. Yes they asked us about the K1 and we quickly explained it away... Joint bank account, name on house deed, credit cards and health insurance were what we had to show... Interview lasted about 10 mins and they approved it on the spot... Side note the K1 NOA2 got approved after we filed the AOS and withdrew the K1 in writing... Go figure, they must have miss placed it and found it somewhere... Anyways you can do this, but be ready to show the marriage is legit and you were not planning to do this.... Good Luck!!

  4. We had nothing but great service from our SSN office her all the way to the Citizenship swap over.. They even stayed late to allow us to get processed even after their office hours had come... Which was a pleasant experience for us since we were dealing with a govt employee.. Great attitude and very efficient every time I have had to deal with them... Seems like a miss communication or follow-up on your part... I never walk away without knowing we have what we came for... Like others said, you needed more than the SSN number to go forward.... Sorry for your situation, but sounds like you weren't is a financial position to take on what was required... I hope things workout for you guys going forward!!!!

  5. Is there a reason you can't have a civil marriage in July to get the ball rolling so she can go th her sister's wedding? You can still have your wedding party in September.

This is exactly how you can do it and she can still go to the wedding and all will be good... Why add to the stress of her missing her sisters wedding!?!?!? Simple civil marriage file AOS and AP at the same time and you will have it for her trip home....

  6. We' will be arriving to the USA on Friday, our visa journey has finish and the start of our new life together is beginning. Thank you all who knowingly or unknowingly helped us, encouraged us, supported us, and I wish everyone still in this journey a positive outcome; just remember be patient and stay positive. Thank Trixiechick75 you help me until the end, and la vegano stay strong.

    Sincerely

    Hector and Ana

Great news for you both!!! Sad news is your Visa Journey is really just beginning as you make your way through to Permanent Green Card or the ultimate finishline of USC... Glad you are off to a good start and welcome to the excitement!!!!

  7. We had a very easy and succesful interview/test yesterday morning. We already have our scheduled oath ceremony: Next wednesday, 2/19/2014.

    Almost done with USCIS!

Awesome, you are almost there!!! Great news and very happy for you!!!! I don't know how to edit the list to change us to RED but we completed on 2/6/14...

  8. America has a new Citizen and that would be Churawan K. Winters!!!! Ceremony went well today, 355 new USC's attended today... They used "Faneuil Hall" which is the birthplace of the American Revolution... Neat to be in such an historic site for this special day!!!! This all behind us now and we are done... Stick me with a fork!!!!! Hope everyone else gets finished up soon!!!!

  9. INTERVIEW IS FINALLY OVER!!! One more step to go...

The officer who interviewed me was very nice and accomodating. The interview took less than 15 minutes then she finally gave me the paper stating that I passed the interview and that I should be receiving an oath taking ceremony letter by May. Hopefully, I will be scheduled for the oath earlier than May as I have plans to visit my grandfather who is very sick and he wishes that we can see him before he goes. How long did you guys wait for your oat taking after your interview? Anybody?

You can go visit your grandfather now as the interview info they gave you was for a May date... Regardless you can travel now and have someone check your mail for the letter... They will give you some notice when they send it, so I would say at least a month at the earliest... No issue with travel after the interview... They ask a question on the oath letter "did you travel since your interview? yes or no" no question about length of stay or number of times.... Get there before you miss getting a chance to see him.... Congrats on the interview and Good Luck going forward!!!

  10. Got our letter yesterday, oath is scheduled for Feb 6th in Boston.... Almost there, we fly back from Thailand on the 2nd to get through the jet lag before the big day... Pla is so excited to get this done and get her new passport.... Awesome news for us, hope everyone else gets theirs real soon... Will post after the big swearing in....

  11. We had our K-1 lost/miss placed or whatever happened for 22 months, we finally just married while she was here and filed AOS... We did this knowing we would be questioned at interview.. We were and explained our situation and the fact that we had filed K1 waited over 22 months and did what we thought was right for us... It was and our interviewer agreed 6 minute interview and GC issued... By the way we sent our with drawal of the K1 which they acknowledged, then a month later we got our approval on the K1 (noa2)... We just moved on and we have passed our interview for citizenship awaiting oath at this time.. We lost 18 months waiting and calling and used a senator, congressman and an ambassador all to no avail... We are happily moving forward and never looked back, but you seem to be right where we were back in 2010...

  12. Churawan (Pla)'s interview is complete and she passed with flying colors!!! The day went as follows, left house at 6AM for a 8:10AM appointment, Boston traffic ate up over half of my 1 hour cushion. We arrive at the bldg. at 0740, checked in after security screening. Sat down in waiting area at 0802, 8 mins to spare... 0812 Pla was called in and was back out in 15mins less I think but I forgot to check my watch.... Questions asked were 1)what does the presidents cabinet do 2)Name a branch of the Govt. 3)How many justices sit on the supreme court 4) What did the Declaration of independence do 5) how many years does a Senator get elected for 6) If the Pres and VP are both dead who takes over the President role... None were what I would call easy, she was approved for the next step which is waiting on Oath, we were hoping for same day but no luck... She was told 1-2 months on the Oath... Vacation time in Thailand for us both... Thank You everyone for all the advice and support on this long and sometimes troubled journey!!!!!!... Last step to come and we are good to go.. Happy Holidays to everyone and may your final journey with USCIS end on a happy not ASAP!!!

  13. My wife changed her name hen she married me.... She travels on her Thai passport all the time and shows her greencard with her married name and never has a problem... The ticket matches her passport, they greencard and driver licence show married name.... She carries a copy of the marriage licence just incase, but hasn't needed it!!!!!!!!! I think you could or should be able to do the same!!!

  14. Magicjack works perfect for $20 a year.... I have 3 accounts with them and is easy to use... If she or you have an Ipad or Iphone you can get a free access on their app.... So it could be free... And of course if you both have them facetime is the best for free... My wife uses both of these to stay in touch with family and friends back home....
