  1. Here is what I got for the rfe...very generic letter that describes everything that we submitted, besides the complete bank statements and full tax return. I didn't see any reason why they would need to know what my wife and I were purchasing so I included the first page rather than full statements.

This was what I included in the package and the cover letter:

    Dear USCIS examiner:

Enclosed please find a joint I-751 petition for removal of conditions of permanent resident status regarding my wife ***. Please also find a list of previous addresses and a check for $590, the fee for this form. My wife entered the US on a CR-1 visa on *****. We are happily married and living together and request that this petition be accepted for removal of conditions on the residence of my wife ****.

Enclosed also please find the following documents to verify the status of our marriage and ongoing relationship:

    • Copy of the CR-1 green card of *****.
    • Copies of our 2011 and 2012 joint US tax returns and their accompanying W2 forms.
    • Copy of our joint lease agreement.
    • Copy of CalPERS beneficiary designation.
    • Copy of completed enrollment form for Group Basic Life insurance, designating **** as the primary beneficiary.
    • Copy of Health Insurance enrollment form, showing *** enrolled as my spouse, entitling her to full medical benefits.
    • Copies of various bank statements from the date I added my wife to our Checking/Savings account to the present day, showing shared address and joint account over the course of our marriage.
    • Various Cox Cable bills, showing shared address and joint account over the course of our marriage.
    • Copies of various SDGE utility bills, showing shared address and joint account over the course of our marriage.
    • Photocopies of notes/envelopes addressed to both of us, showing shared residence, and public identification as a married couple, over the course of our marriage.
    • Pictures together in different places with relatives, and our dogs.

Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and we understand that we may be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at a later date. Please advise us if you have any further questions or concerns related to this petition.

    Sincerely,

    Xelance & ****

  2. Sorry to hear she can't check her status online. Even so, the approval letter should come in the mail within 3-5 days of the original approval date, so you will find out soon enough once there is an decision. Hopefully you get to hear from them soon!

Also, they don't necessarily process petitions in strict chronological order. I was the first one to be approved from the April batch and I was an early April filer. The second approval though came for a late April filer 2 business days later, so you never know exactly when yours could be. Based on the list and approval timelines though, it looks like your wife should be hearing soon. Good luck! smile.png

Oh I know...they dont process them in any order that's for sure! I learned that back when I was filing for her CR-1...Im just happy people are getting approved already, that is a nice step in the right direction for USCIS.

  3. I do have a copy of the lease just didn't find it, I got a letter from the landlord, do you think I should send it without a rfe

I would not send it...there is no need to as you have not got a response from USCIS. It is just needless at this point.

My wife lost her 1 year extension letter as well so I can't check it online...oh well it looks like we will find out either way sooner than later. Im very surprised people are getting approved already...good stuff!

  4. my wife applied for her ROC almost a month ago and they still havent even cashed ourcheck or done anything on the case. My wifes PR visa is now expired due to the slowdown, yay. It normally takes 2-4 days for them to cash it, this slowdown seems to be affecting everyone..I wonder what the heck is going on. This is not the first time we have been screwed by CSC, they transferred us to texas service center and we were finally issued her NOA2 for a CR-1 visa about 7 months later after contacting congressman, higherups in USCIS, etc.

  5. I'm assuming you filed at VSC, then? More information so we can add you to the list!!

As for the Receipt Date - that'd be the date on your NOA1 when you get it.

Everyone. Please. I see a LOT of people worried about trips and green card expiry. I will continue to iterate this: if your green card expires and you have NOT received your NOA1 yet (it extends your green card by a year), and it's within 2-3 days of the expiry date (EXAMPLE: it's May 5th, and your green card expires on May 7th) then MAKE AN INFOPASS APPOINTMENT AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLE CAN. They will give you a stamp in your passport (or should, anyways) that will extend your green card expiry date. My husband got a stamp in his passport today, and it extends his green card for another year. The only downside is that you will HAVE to carry your passport with you at ALL TIMES until you receive your NOA1, and once you get NOA1, then you'll carry that with you until you get your 10 year green card. This is what the guy at our immigration office told my husband and I when we spoke with him, and he was a supervisor, so I'm pretty much betting that we can trust that that's what's needed.

Carry a passport at all times? LOL...sounds a little extreme to me. I dont think USCIS is that strict, it isn't like he is gonna get pulled over by border patrol for no reason and asked for documentation.

  6. So...it seems as if I am the visa jinx here. When I filed an I-130 on my wife's behalf a few years ago, it was a huge fiasco and our files were sent from CSC to TSC because of a backlog at CSC. TSC proceeded to not know how to process I-130s and confusion ensued for all of us. Now it seems as if something is happening (or not happening?) at CSC, I guess I should have warned you all that I was filing this month. Hey...look at the bright side, we are all with our SO this time!

  7. I'm so paranoid about this whole process! I make Google calendar updates years in advance haha.

I'm sure you'll be fine as well!

LOL! I hear ya, I was that way also, I guess I have just become a little more relaxed over time since USCIS seems so relaxed on their processing timeframes :P Hope we all hear something soon. Here is our $590 X however many VJ April members + nonmembers, take it...I know you wanna!
