  1. There are a few posts on here about interview experiences at Cairo Embassy. What I would like to know is when we will get scheduled for our interview. Our case completed at NVC on June 9th. I hope we don't have to wait several months to get an interview appointment!!

if you Lucky enough you will get your schedule in July maybe the end of July early august

July Interview are assigned during the first two weeks of June ..and August ones are assigned on the first two weeks or July ...so u can see i didnt got a July Interview although my case is complete May 13 ...so i wait till July to know IF i have one on august ...

hope that gives u clear idea.

our Embassy is so busy one

yeah it sure is busy, my case was complete May 27th and was told July is full for interviews and to call back during the first 2 weeks of July for an Aug. interview. Insha Allah we will all get our interview dates soon.

  2. Hello all my fellow VJ'ers. I was wondering if any can help me out. I got an RFE and NVC recieved it on 4/27/09. I call every week and spoke to an operator once. I was told it's still under "final review". I also can't sign into NVC website, I did it just to see if I got the notorious ERROR message since most on here reported that meant your case would be complete soon. Well i got the error message but still nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? I was hoping to be completed and get interview since I will be in egypt for the whole month  Thanks so much.

i really dont know abt the RFE ..but try to reach a supervisor whom can tell u exactly whats going on with ur case ...

    my best wishes for u

Thanks all for your great replies! I will be there the whole month of June so I'm hoping praying, insha Allah!

  4. Hello every one!!!

I know I am jumping a bit ahead here, but I just found out that the NVC will need original documents. Here's the problem, I misplaced our marriage paper (sad I know, I just filed a few weeks ago). I am really hoping it will pop up before we get the NOA2, but if not can we sent my husbands orignal copy (with translation and signed off by the american embassy - just like the copy I sent in of mine)?? Will this make a difference? Do you think they will question why my marriage paper isn't available (which I can happily tell them, I misplaced it  - like I do just about everything else)?

Thanks for your answer in advance!! Have a great hump day!

You should be fine by sending his in! Just be sure to search hard for yours just in case anything happens to his.

  5. I found this information on a serch engine, thought it may be helpfull in future not sure, and was wandering if anyone out there has filed with signing the G-325 on behalf of the benenficiary? My friend has done this and was approved on a K-3 When I called today the operator told me to sign with my name and put (petitioner) and date and it would be ok. Anyone else done this? Whatever the case Im prepared for RFE if it comes, I did file today for my husband which is finishing his military time and will complete sept. 2009 wanted to get the first step completed.

    Interoffice Memorandum

    To: SERVICE CENTER DIRECTORS

    From: Michael Aytes /S/

    Acting Associate Director for Operations

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

    Department of Homeland Security

    Date: November 1, 2005

Re: Guidance for Processing Pending Form I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) when

G-325A for Petitioner and/or Beneficiary is not Signed and/or Photos not Submitted.

    Purpose

To provide field offices with guidance on processing Form I-129F petitions when the accompanying G-325A is missing signatures and/or photographs.

A properly executed Form G-325A is required for all I-129F petitions. Previously it was standard practice to issue an RFE when the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to submit photographs. From the date of this memorandum, an RFE should not be issued in instances where the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to include photographs provided that the beneficiary is residing abroad. The beneficiary will be required to sign the Form G-325A and/or submit photographs at the time of visa issuance abroad. It is also not necessary to RFE for the petitioner’s signature on the G-325A, if the petitioner failed to sign it. The signature of the petitioner on the Form I-129F should be deemed sufficient for purposes of adjudicating the petition. Finally, it is important to note that the petitioner’s photograph is still required for the adjudication of the I-129F, so if it is missing, it must be requested prior to adjudication.

Questions regarding this memorandum may be directed through appropriate channels to Mica Pilz of Service Center Operations.

  6. I think the price you got is pretty good!! Now concerning aprts...don't do it online because they will treat you like a foreigner and the prices will be very expensive even though you're not going in a high season. The best way is one of his family there looks for an aprt for you...locals will know how to negotiate the price. I know that foreigners pay around $4O to visit the pyramids if they check your passport and find out you're not egyptian...I don't know if it would make a difference that you're married to an egyptian.....I'm sure someone here will give you more info on this. Now concerning the "are you pregnant yet?" it's one of two things either you tell your husband to tell his family privately not to open this subject with you at all or to make sure that when they ask you both say " It's in God's hands" usually that shuts everyone up as far as I know since no one can do anything about it really LOL

I hope I was helpful in anyways Angel :luv:

I would go for delta! The positive is the direct flights to egypt they have, I just booked with them, the negative is that now they charge extra for a second luggage. As for the pyramids, we jus showed them our marriage papers, its kinda silly to do but hey, once they know you are american it goes up like crazy!

    Hope that helps.

  7. Hey all, was just wondering how long is the wait if you are missing something in your DS-230. I called NVC and they said I could not send the passport photos until they instruct me to do so......can't believe I left it out, especially since I was so sure I did everything right!

I was hoping someone with a similar situation could share with me what happens next?

  8. just recieved email from nvc said i didn`t pay the IV fee bill and i did and printed sheet and just sent ds230 package does that happen to any one /

It just happened to me. Called NVC yesterday and was told that I paid the IV fee before i was suppossed too! I read somewhere here that causes a delay in our case:(

  9. If its in arabic it doesnt need to be translated either b/c its from Egypt and thats your place of residence. Hope that helps.

That may be true if he is going for K3. He stated clear that he will be going for CR1/IR1; if that is the case then all documents in Arabic must be translated to English.

I just called NVC to be sure since my husband and I are trying to complete the DS230 and I was told once again that none of the paperwork needed to be translated if it was already in english or arabic.

Here's what it says on NVC......

    Photocopy Requirement

In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

    Translation Requirements

All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations.

  10. Translation Documents required

    Hi all .

I was goin to do k3 and ma i-129f is in the embassy now but I change my mind I'm goin to do cr-1 bcoz ma i-130 is in NVC now and we paid pos already but I'm really confused now bcoz all this time I was reading about k3 and I know nothing about cr-1 . anyways I just wants to know how and where can I translate my documents and certify it in Egypt specially police certificates and military record . and I wanna know if Egypt is Standard or Appointment Post ? and I wanna know if I suppose to send those translated documents to NVC or should I keep it till the day of the interview ?

P.s : we r goin to pay iv bill and send i-864 AOS tomorrow isA

So please I wanna know whts next ?

Forgive ma stupid questions I'm very new on this CR-1

I was wondering the same question. I called NVC and was told that if was originals it didnt need to be certified. If its in arabic it doesnt need to be translated either b/c its from Egypt and thats your place of residence. Hope that helps.

  11. Hey everyone! I was hoping someone here can help me out, been calling NVC but can't get through.

When sending in documents for DS-230 do both my husband and I have to send a marriage certificate? sorry if it's a dumb question, everything is so overwhelming, wish i had found this site from the get go!
