  1. Hello all. Has been over a month since we have sent off our change of status papers for the green card. I am hoping we have not come into the same problem when I sent off her initial appilication for the I-129. The mailing address was sent to my physical adress not mailing. I think is time to call and see what is going on. What is the contact number? We were married 30 days before visa expired and package sent off just after that. Not hearing from them is starting to get the nerves rattled. I should of attacted the e-mail slash text notification request form when I sent in the package but was in too much hast to get it sent in and didn't relize what the attachment was for till after sent off the package. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  2. Ah did get a bit miffed at the suggestion of not being perpaired for what has taken over 3 years and plenty of hardships to get us to this point. But am easy going and know some are perhaps protective of the wounderful people of the Philipines both men and women that are uprooting themselfs to be with there loved ones. Am sure some are not aware of the ongoing hardships that can and will follow once you are together. So I'll step back and just take whatever post suggest for whatever was ment from them.

As for my oraginal post meaning about the fees it came out to be 750 pesos was all Alma had to pay. Any other taxes must of been covered in the purchase of the ticket. She is home now and beat from the travel. Jet lag taking its toll. Thanks for all the suggestions and information. Oh and as of yet was too tired to stop for that Big Mac. he he maybe on one of our get to know the area tours we will take care of that request. lol.

  3. Thanks again for all the quick replys. I did purches the tickets on-line and included was $74.60 for tax and fees. Never know what if any and all of the actual charges are included in those taxs. She has plenty to cover any not included and plenty for food, snacks or maybe even that humm do I need this novialty travel mug or snowglobe. As an interesting side note. What does your your misses or mister what first when they arrive at there new home? Besides the just you or hugg and kiss. When I asked this was kinda amused and was reminded on just how lucky a man I am. Alma has a wish for a BigMac. he he.

  4. WOW some are reading alot into a simple post. Just asked what was the correct fees for departing and some are quick to throw the don't be a cheap jerk card. Of course She will have more than enough for travel and any expenses. She said that 2000 pesos was ample and I knew better than that is why I added this post. Am well aware of the cost of living, support needs after she arrives as well. Not in need of any lectures on cost of living and suport. For those who helped with good solid information on terminal fees and taxes thankyou.

  5. Hello all. My misses travels soon and I want to make sure she has enough for the terminal fees when she departs. What will she need to have on her? She thinks 2000pesos is enough. What does she need to have?

  6. That is an great price. I just bought one from Northwest that was a couple hundred higher than that. I also have traveled with China air before. Was plesent but there was a lengthy delay and missed connection getting there. The service was very good. They don't have a point of entry in Seattle is why I went with Northwest. Didn't want my lady going thru LAX. Am usre plenty do all they time but just want a smooth eay trip for her.

And as a side Note the Green Dot card thru wal-mart is so easy to use to send money to the philippines. Easy to us at any atm. Low cost to load as well. Only 3 dollars. For me has been the way to go for the past 2 years.

  7. I agree go with SFO not LAX. Reason more traffic into LAX. longer lines harder to navagate that airport. As far as connecting flights go. You will have no problems other than finding the next gate to your final stop. Just make sure you have plenty of time to make the connecting flight. When buying the ticket make sure there is 3 to 4 hours time between your POE and connecting flight. If you complete early check in with the connecting flight and you maybe able to get put on an earlier flight. Don't worrie about connecting flights just give yoursefl the time needed. Congradulations on you visa and success. Have a safe and happy trip.

  8. As with any journeys all start someplace. Ours started over 3 years ago with a flick of the mouse on an icon in a message slection in yahoo chatt. Our journey started with a smily  Altho our journey is far from over but this part of our journey is over with the period at the end of a Visa. Our journey was not alone. We found a group of people sharing the same experiance. Some allready complete some still praying for the same results as we have had. I thank all of you for the advice and well wishes. Alma messaged me that she received her visa yesterday when I was fast asleep in dream land. Just 3 days to be dilivered. We planed her travel for next week on the 29th just to play it safe. Now the ast part of our journey apart is a weeks worth of waiting. Am sure she will get the stamp on her visa from cfo today all all that will be left for her to do is celibrate with her friends and family. For those still wiating..Stay strong write letters to add to your proof for your relationship. Ask questions when not sure of a document and trust that you'll get the correct response here. Be happy for the love and the future you will have at the end of this journey. Good luck and best of wishes to everyone here.

  9. Excited and happy. We got pink this part of the journey is complete. Just the cfo stamp and the purchase of a ticket. Thanks to all for the help and support with our journey. Hope pink is the in color for this year and all get aproved swift and smooth.

  10. I too think it is a good idea for the dual citizenship. For any couple that plans on retireing or even maintaining a second home there it is a smart move. Alma and I plan on retireing there as well. And we plan on her having the dual citizenship for buying land and a homeand even some sort of bussiness. That way even after I am long gone god fobid but is a reality of life will have something to pass on to her and to keep in our family.

So we think is a great smart move unless you never plan to retire there or own any porperty there.

  11. Thanks for all the well wishes! Being a site for advice and guidance is for the most part why I joined. But I do have to also say that for me at least I have noticed and have come to beleive this is more than just an information mill. I read earlier a post that said the reader was tired of all the got the pinks, NOA1 filed and or NOA2 noticed received and all the congrats that follow. That poster wanted more exciting threads and topics. He did not get the best part of this site or the great group of people that post here. This is a meeting place fo a community with for the most part have a comon goal.. To be untied with the one they love and want to share there lives with. So when one gets good news one the process and shares all the rest of us are excited and hopfull there shared journey is also running in the same direction to success. I will never get tired of reading or stop feeling happy for anyone that wishes to post progress of there journeys. Still not sure on the direction to go on the buying of a ticket. Will wait most likely. The only important thing is getting past this next hurdle. Will let all know what the result is when I find out. I hope watching the Seahawks try a salvage some of there season tomarrow will distract me a little. Thanks again and keep strong all.

    Richard and Alma

  12. Finally it all comes down to a couple of hours of waiting hopfully a clear eye of Embasy staff employee and having all the ducks in the correct line. lol. Months of perperation 4 travels to the wounderfull Philipines over 3 years and a strong true loving relationship all now ride on the color of the slip presented at the end of the day. Whatever the outcome I am gratfull to all here that have hleped with my questions and concerns over the past several months. Thankyou again for all the advise and guidance to this point. I know my next thought after the passing of the interview will be when to buy the Golden ticket to bring my lady home. She lives in Las Pinas city kinda a suberb of manila. I see that some get there visas dilivered in just a couple of days and others up to 2 weeks. I am assuming the more swift diliverys are people who live in or close to manila. Am just woundering if buying at ticket for the 27th of October is a ####### shoot or a real safe venture. The smart move I supose is to wait till the visa is in hand. Will be a solid week from interview day to travel date. TO buy a ticket on-line where I find the best deals usually require at least a week advance purchase to insure the clearance of funds. yes the important thing here is success in the interview. just with nothing more to do but waiting I find myself thinking past the interview to the travel. Any suggestions on when I should buy or anyone know where to buy without having the week to clear part. Oh and yes cfo is complete allready all that is left is the visa to be stamped. Thanks again wish all best of luck and speedy journeys to be reunited.

  13. I have been using the wal-mart green dot system for close to a year. Have had no problem on either end. easy to use easy to withdraw. Just $3 dollars to load. Was using Western Union which was alot more expensive. For me anyways the debit card is the way to go unless you perfer to spend more money. Start up cost is 6 dollars for the cards then you logg on to the wal mart site instruct on the names and pin to be used on the cards. 5 to 10 days to get sent to you then pass on to your better half. There is a $3 dollar a month service charge on the card as well. Still cheaper than sending over and over again Western. Easy to add amounts with a stop by any wal-mart. To me is easy win win.

  14. Very Cool! Congrats! Alma has her interview on the 19th of October. I pray hers goes well also. Seems like the average from other posts are about 3 to 5 days for dilivery. Been thinking of the same things. When to buy the magic ticket. he he. Any know of good deals running now on international air fares?

  15. Hello all. Just about to get all our ducks in live for the interview. Which will be sometime later this month or early October. I am woundering if the proof I have snet is ample to prove suport. yes I make more than double what is required. I have sent 3 years of tax returns and w-2s from my work place and as well as retirement from the military. sent a signed bank letter showing annual deposits, an employment letter showing my position as well as lengh of employment. have a friend that says I need to add account information as well as bank statements for the past year also. Is that really needed or is what I have supplyed allready ample to show my ability to suport. And yes I know more is always beter. but really isn't the requirement proven with what I have allready given? Thanks in advance for your replys.
