    Sorry guys.....HAHHAHAH! I also have:

2 copies of my DS-230 part 1 I sent in for packet 3

original and 2 copies of DS-230 part 2 (just in case)

2 copies of my packet 3 (just in case)

I can tell you, that I went in with 2 or 3 copies of everything and I was SOOO glad!!! I had so many copies, that when we went to apply for my (now) husband's AOS, I just whipped those cpoies outta the K1 notebook and we were 2/3 of the way there!

Another suggestion... put the forms in numerical order. Numbers then letters... 256 then 256-K and so on. That way, no matter WHAT order they barked the numbers in, I could handle them effectively and efficiently. Yeah, although my husband was the K1, I was the paper organizer... guess it comes with being a teacher. ;)

    Good luck!!!

  2. Just a suggestion, you people waiting for interviews right now should do what we did a few months ago. Do a daily call rotation that way you can get daily updates from other people and you only have to call once a week on a sepcific day. MTL has been known to batch and assign interviews all at one time. Thats what happened with us July interview people...there were 4 of us on the same day :)

And there were 7 or 8 us in April. Good luck!!

  3. Hmmm... well, the SSA office isn't too far from the house. Perhaps we can try with the EAD once it arrives. I'm guessing someone at the office didn't know to ask for the GC and went ahead with the EAD, since the EAD is all for employment.

  4. Does anyone know... when there is an interview for AOS, is it like the K1 in MTL where they assign you a date and time, but instead, you show up early in the AM basically disregarding the time of the interview? Or, do we plan to arrive a bit before the scheduled interview time?

    Curious.

  5. TayRiver - that's exactly the route i'm taking :) thank you for all your responses. i was just wondering what that was all about. i wasnt going to use my EAD to cross but its good to know. when I applied for jobs, the employers didn't even know what the EAD was about. all they wanted to see was my SSN which says something like "only to be used with DSHS permission" or something like that and my employers were confused and that's when I have to show my EAD

Does your SSN have only authorized to work with DHS permission? If so, and you have your EAD card now, you might want to go back and get a new SSN with that removed from it.

Carla, do you know if there is a form for that to be removed?? There seems to be a form for everything else. lol Duncan was just approved for his EAD and we received an email stating that production for the card had been ordered.

There is no form. When you get your Greencard, you just take it with you to the office and then fill out the same form I believe. You cannot get that saying removed until the Greencard, not the EAD.

I just started a job and they didn't even look at my SSN, they just asked for the number and wanted to see and take a copy of the EAD.

Good point. Thanks, Sapphire! Come to think of it, I don't think I've shown my SS Card to my employers. I have just always written the number. So, he would just need to know his SSN and take the EAD with him, and make copies for the employers.

    BTW, how's the new job??!!

  6. I think I would do black dress with one pink bow and slit, and one orange bow and slit.

My bridesmaids and I are going shopping in March for dresses tho :)

I just wanted to try on dresses LOL

I love black with pink and black with orange... but, I guess I am partial. lol Our wedding was black & white with some dark pink AND I love pink & orange together!!

  7. 8. We now have our NVC case number. Can I use that to book a medical? Is it still too early? Thanks!

You can...but you still need the paper from them to show at the medical. Also one thing to keep in mind is the closer you have it to the interview, the longer it will be valid for your AOS. Some people had their validity come close so the got RFE'd for a new medical.

As soon as you get your MTL or VAN number (from the packet) make a copy (or 2) of the entire thing! That way, you can send back the checklist (original) and have a copy to show the medical exam office. But, as Danu said, wait as long as you can, without waiting too long. Your medical exam will be good for 1 calendar year.

  9. Went to the Alfred Angelo store. I asked them if they could do the alterations on my dress since it's an Alfred Angelo and the lady asked if I bought it at an actual Alfred Angelo store and I said "Well, no you don't have them in Canada, but your website lists them as a partner store" and she said "Sorry, we can't". Then I said "Well you know I would pay you n stuff" and she said "I really wish I could help you, but we can't".

So then I tried on some Bridesmaid dresses for my bridesmaids :D

This one looked the best on me http://s7d4.scene7.com/ir/render/AlfredAng...n&sharpen=1

    Veryyyyy pretty! Same colors?

  10. We want you all to meet the new addition to our family! Gilbert will be joining us on October 5th. He's a miniature dachshund.

Oh my goodness!!!! How sweet is he??!! Awwww, Carla, what a wonderful addition to your family. :)

  11. Got my EAD today :dance::dance:

Also got DL yesterday...went to car registration place today...my plates will be in next week.... I gotta find time to go update my SSN and get my son's...

Now just waiting on GC or an RFE lol... hopefully not the latter lol :)

YEA!!!! Now, just to get your GC!!!! :)

BTW, we got email notices that Duncan's EAD has been approved and production of the card has been ordered! We should have it in 30 days (or less... ) and he got approveal for his AP! Now, just to get through the AOS interview and approval. We're going to go through Dr. Arnold for the 693... not wanting any RFEs here!!!

  12. If you get an RFE for the I-693 (which is the Vacc suppliment), and you've had your medical within the last year, you DO NOT need to get the whole exam done again. July mentioned having surgeons not willing to do just the vaccination suppliment, but that's just because they want the money. Unless you are told by USCIS to get the whole thing done again, don't pay extra for it.

Rob & Mel, either way, it does have to be done by a USCIS certified civil surgeon (you can find the list on the USCIS website). It seems as though people that are transfered have a better chance of getting by with just their vacc sheet from there interview in Montreal or Van, but if you get an AOS interview, you will need the 1-693 transcribed. I learned the hard way and had to wait an extra 30 days (I received the RFE at the interview, not by mail).

Exactly!!! That's why we're going to contact Dr. Arnold in Texas and pay the $30 or whatever and do it via the phone/fax/mail. We have a month, so if we do it now, should have the transcription done & back within a couple of weeks.

We did turn in the vax sheet, just not the transcription. So, we're going for that now.

Also, does someone know if I need to bring in another 2 months (most recent) worth of pay stubs??? The NOA says 2 months worth, but I didn't know if that was in addition to the already submitted 2 months or another 2 months.

    Thanks!

    PS

Now that I'm back to work, I can finally get to check the VJ site again!!! LOLOL

  13. hI I SENT A COPY OF MY MEDICAL EXAM IN THE PHILIPPINES BUT THEY STILL REQUIRE ME TO SEND I-693! what do i need to do? I am in Georgia the place I'm living is far from Atlanta where the local civil surgeon located. can other doctor in my place do the transcribed?

Please let me know what to do? to redo the medical all over again is to expensive :(

We received the AOS interview letter. It has a checklist of what to bring listing the I-693 first stating ( if not already submitted). However, I sent the DS-3025 & 3026 with my AOS package and I never got an RFE for the I-693. Do I need to get on from a civil surgeon?

Please read post #1 of this thread:

Q: Why are K non-immigrant visa holders asked to include a vaccination supplement when filing Form I-485 to adjust status?

Some countries allow K non-immigrant visa applicants to defer their vaccinations until after they arrive in the U.S. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were not completed as part of the visa process, it is necessary to include form I-693- part 1, part 2-vaccination section, and part 5 in the application.

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

I think it depends on the type of "entry" you had... K1 or whatever. My husband came to the USA on a K1 and now we just have to have the vaccination transcribed, b/c his medical was done on March 2 in Toronto by Dr. Seiden. Hope that info helps. :)

  14. Hey July :)

The interview really isn't that bad, make sure you have copies of things you can leave with them. I know we all make copies anyway, but I didn't realize that they would want a copy of my: lease agreement, car insurance card, bank statesments and powerbill. Funny enough though, i took about 80 pics and he glanced at 6 maybe? He was much more interested in anything with my name on it.

Are you sure there are no civil surgeons in the area? I guess I was just lucky - there are literally 20 of them within a 35 min drive. I shouldn't be surprised though...we are really close to medical Universities.

I had about the same wait time, and it goes quickly :) You will do great!

I must have called about 15 of the gazillion civil surgeons in the area. Problem is, they all want to do another medical for over $200. His medical is still "good" as it was done at Dr. Seiden's office on March 2. We just need his vaccination and medical exam form transcribed and put into the 693 (or whatever the form number is... I've forgotten at the moment). No one around here will do that. Ugh. I'm sure that's why Dr. Arnold is so popular.

I'm off to find the posting where someone posted all of her information.....

  15. Well, it happened. We officially have to go for an interview. Wow... is the list LONG!!!!!!! LOL At least, this time around, they give us a specific list list of what we need to bring. So, on Monday, October 11th, we'll be in downtown Detroit having the interview of our lives! Funniest part is, the first thing at the top of the notification, it states "If your eligibility is based on your marriage, your husband or wife must come with you to the interview." Guess they don't want anyone to take chances on that, do they?? <sigh> Oh, well. Almost done!!!

On a positive note, You know what day you will be approved for your GC! :) You may very well get it before any of us CSC transfers....I noticed that some interviews are getting approved way before CSC peeps....I guess there is an upside on both ends....

Just make sure you have your medical transcribed by the Surgeon General (which I think you said you were doing anyways?) Cause people are getting the big fat (insert skidmark brakes here) lol.... Jenni & Bo got delayed by 30 days after interview because of that...and someone else who interviewed the other day. Other than that....you will have an approval on 11/10/09 (well at least that's how Canadians write it) how cool is that date ? lol

I'm still waiting for my EAD...i've gotten 3 emails notifying that it was approved on Sept 2nd, 6th and 11th....ahhh thanks, but where is it? lol....

Yeah, I've inquired about having the medical info transcribed here, but no one in the flippin area will do it. So, tomorrow, I'm going to try and contact Dr. Arnold in Texas. Actually, I may not be able to do so tomorrow (I don't get any prep time tomorrow :( ), but I'll definitely be looking up her information!

I just realized, I wrote October 11th up above... the interview is actually October 19th. I'm borrowing a netbook from school and sometimes the keys and my fingers don't match up too well. lol

    Nice

TOld you Detroit doesn't get transfered and we'll get an interview ;)

Well we got our biometrics appointment 3 days after you so maybe we'll get some changes for our case too.

No news on AP and EAD though. Did you get approved already or nothing between the biometrics and the interview letter?

Here's the thing, there were no "touches" according to the website, but then again, USCIS is going to a new site in 8 days, I think. So, I'm not sure what's happening with the EAD and AP. The notice was just for AOS. But, yeah, you were right... off we go to the interview! LOL

Hope you all get your notice soon!!!

  17. Well, it happened. We officially have to go for an interview. Wow... is the list LONG!!!!!!! LOL At least, this time around, they give us a specific list list of what we need to bring. 18. I like the curls! I still have yet to decide how to do my hair.... my hair is naturally curly, so it will probably be curls!

So my first guest received their save the date card today, I got excited

That is exciting!!! Fun, fun for you! :)

  19. Hmmm... interesting. I figured Duncan would get a "touch" after going in on 8/31 for the biometrics appt. However, all dates still show either 7/29 or 8/11. This sux. I'm no where near as anxious as I was waiting for the K-1 interview date, because we're together and here... but him not working is already driving him BATTY and it's only been just over 2 months since he moved here. And, he's about to drive me nuts, too! lol Worst part is, I'm already back at school and the kids start on Tuesday. What is he going to do when I'm gone all day for work!!???! And then the days when I need to stay late to grade or plan or whatever?? OMG... I don't think I want to know about that one! LOLOL

I'll let you guys know, that the last touches I had on my AP and EAD were July 28th, my Bio appmnt was after that on August 21st, and I did not have any touches after my Bio appmnt at all....and then I got an approval notice on Sept 2nd, for both AP and EAD, with no touches! My last touch was still showing as late July...and only now, 3 days later is it showing, after I got approved.... so don't base your progress on touches as it is not accurate...I will tell you though, that if you base it on other people getting approved and how far behind them you are, that has been pretty accurate for me...

I was seeing people that filed 2 weeks before me get approved, so I based my future approval on that and then presto..exactly two weeks later I got approved. I know it isn't a sience, but it gives you an idea.

It's also nice to see that CSC transfers are at the same turn around as interview folks...so even if you haven't been transfered, GC's should be arriving around the same time for us all... If the interview goes well, GC's are arriving within a week or two after.

The trends I have been following are recent one's...i'm not looking at turn around times from earlier this year, as USCIS has really sped things up...average turn around for a GC is about 4 months.

A good guide is to go into the AOS forum and look at the May or June filers spreadsheets.

I'm thinking I should see my AP in the mail this coming week...and my EAD could take a little longer as that is a 'card being generated' through their system.

I have decided that once I lift conditions in a couple of years, I am def gonna gear up for applying for citizenship. I figured that i've come this far, i'm gonna go all the way. I don't feel like renewing my PR card in 10 years lol...plus I would like to have to opportunity to bring my mom here in the future...i'm all she has left, and it would be great for her to be close and see my son grow up :)

Plus it's great that we come from a Country that acknowledges duel citizenship :)

I ventured into the AOS forum and put our info on the spreadsheet. Problem is, so many got transferred to CSC, that I'm not sure what to follow and I haven't seen any from Michigan. Guess I will have to go back and find the June and May filers info. <sigh> ((Why didn't he just swim across the river?? LOL))

Thanks for the insight! BTW, congrats again, poprocks!!! I'm so excited you are able to go "home" to see your mom. I know that you've been anxiously awaiting this opportunity! :)
