  1. Greetings;

We'll after 8 months I think Alina and I have come to an end. I guess she feels that I am not "strong" enough for her. We communicated for months via Skype Video and everything was going ok, then yestarday she "went off" on my telling me that i am not strong, a whinny guy, i told her i loved her too much and so on. Lastly i was to see her in July and her comment was "if you do not listen to me do not come to me in july" So, am i wrong for canceling this? is her heart not in the right place..?? i do not think so.. With that said, what format? i understand it needs to be notarized and sent to same address as i sent the petition. Correct? Finally,, can i file again at a later date without a waiver... I write this with a heavy heart.... Dan from seattle..

  2. I know it can take upwards of a month to receive the notification of NOA-1 from CSC. I sent it off on the 5th of May was signed for on the 6th of May in the am. Of course I see some here have received notification on NOA-1 in a weeks time. And I have also seen it can take a month before I should be worried. I checked and double checked every part of the application and am sure all is there. The only thing I of course now am thinking is using a PO box some kind of problem. I have the phsical address in all the write places but my mailing address is a PO box. Because there is just no postal dilivery to the address where I live. ANyone know if that is some kind of problem?

I used a money Order from the US post office. I figured that would be the fastest way Government money order to a branch of the government. and yes was made out to the Department of Homeland Security

My Hard copy NOA1 took two weeks to get. I used a cashiers check and i was worried too. I called and told them it was more than thirty days, they then transferred me to a another department. They asked for my name and told me that a NOA1 was mailed out and gave me my case number. If you want try that way. But as i said, took me two weeks to get my NOA1. Now still waiting for the infamous NOA2... then on to the home stretch.

    Cheers

  3. Hi we applied in March for K-1 VIsa, my fiancee lives in the UK. We already received our first Notice and are awaiting our second. I don't really have any questions, but I do like that I have a place where I can vent about "HOW FRIGGIN' MUCH I MISS HIM" :crying: and how tired I am of everyone asking me if he is marrying me just for his papers. I find it insulting, frustrating and dissapointing that I almost have to declare and explain our love. I honestly find that at times I am not prepared for this line of questioning. It feels as though I have to have some sort of explanation in the wings, besides we love each other and want to marry. I don't want to over-react to it, as I know and try to remember that it is coming from a place of love. So any suggestions?

Welcome to VJ. You'll find many like minded souls here who feel as you do.

Feel free to vent away, that's what we're here for!

Just politely tell your curious interrogator what you've told us - you're in love, you're happy, you're anxiously awaiting the process to wind its way along so you can live happily ever after.

    Good luck!!

I concur, I too get comments at times and i basically just ignore people like that.. A comment like "oh, they are all alike" or some stupid remark. Then there is the all famous term "mail order" I Hate that !!! geez, then people here will gladly go to some other US Based dating site.. All I know is the reason we are together is for the right reason and we need to just ignore those who are unwilling to accept that the world has changed and that you can find the one you really want to be with any where in this world. It just proves their ignorance when they open their mouths..

  4. Hi,

I have sent it in on April 16, they received it on the 17th. They did not file it until May 1. I just received it today(NOA1 May 7). So there should be no worries. The system is just slow sometimes. If you dont receive it after 30 days, then call USCIS. but up to 30 days is normal.

Do you happen to know what the number is to inquire about NOA 1?? I filed my petition at the California Service Center on April 7th and check was cashed on April 8th... still no NOA 1!!!

    USCIS 1-800-375-5283

Just a note, the address that I sent via FedEx was verified by USCIS, called three times just to make sure that they were all correct. Seems as if you can get different answers from different people. So i figure if three people all gave me the right answer then the address was correct. As i posted early i did receive my HardCopy of NOA1 and receive date on NOA1 was the 21st. The day it was signed for, I gather it is just slow on the paper work. As long as they are working the case itself I am happy. NO RFE's and a quick NOA2..... this is what is important.. Most important to be together..

  5. During the interview process after NOA2 is received, I understand our Fiancee's can undergo questions about us. If a list was complied of questions that our Fiancee's should know about us what would it be? Would it read like this? Or...........? I am sure that there are some "standard" questions asked of our future spouses.

    Dan

    Some Questions:

Q: Where was your Fiancé born?

Q: Why do you love him?

Q: Why do you want to marry him?

Q; Where does his parents live?

Q: Does he have any brothers or sisters?

Q: Where does his brothers / sisters live?

Q: What food's does your fiancé like?

Q: What food's does your fiancé not like?

Q: What side of the bed does he like to sleep on?

Q: What time does he go to work?

Q: What city does he live in?

Q: What does he do for work?

Q: What company does he work for?

    Q: Do you love him?

    Q: How did you meet?

Q: When did he come to Kiev/country for first time?

Q: Does your fiancée have any pets?

Q: What size clothes does he wear?

Q: Do you want to learn English?

Q: How often do you talk?

Q: Will you have children with him?

Q: When was the last time you saw him?

Q: What is his email address?

Q: Do you know his phone Number in America?

    Q: Was he married before?

  6. Finally Received NOA1 Hard Copy on Friday, but Received day was the day it was signed for. Just Slow Processing, so far so good. Now the real wait begins.

    D-

CSC Received our I-129F on 21 April and to this date, i still have no hard copy of NOA1 nor Have they cashed the Cashiers check that I have sent to them.

Has anyone else had this recent experience with filing at the California Service Center? I sent our Packet via FedEx over night priority. By the way the address I FedExed it to was:

    USCIS

    California Service Center

    24000 Avila Road

    2nd Floor Room 2312

    Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

I know that they have received it and it was signed for too. Any Ideas as too why this would be occurring? I've read that there is an influx of HB1 Visa's that need to be taken care of, possibility that this could be the hold up? Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am getting a bit worried.

    Dan

Someone might be able to answer this better, but you probably should have sent the petition to the address that was listed on the form. If I remember correctly....it was a PO Box. It may or may not matter...

The PO box is for regular mail delivery. The address he used is for FedEx, UPS etc., who require a live human to sign at time of delivery.

  8. I think that my problem at the border is more that it is obvious that the boys are not Mila's kids. They ask and I am honest, however when my ex goes with her @#%$* live-in, they have the appearance of one big happy family. We really like Toronto, the varied culture, and the Russian markets are fantastic. We discussed moving out of the Buffalo area, my work will let me live anywhere, but the proximity to Toronto keeps us here.

When Mila and I cross by ourselves, no issue and no real questions. We met in Canada and both have a lot of friends in Southern Ontario.

    Gary and All;

I know i've written to some off line about this but my Fiancee has a 15 month old, the biological wants nothing to do with her or child since the day he found out she was having a baby. The US Embassy wants a letter for either missing parent, in this case the local govt will actually look for him and take a long time and she wants not to even talk with this person or else she feels that there will be a problem. Good point is that she made up the middle name and the last name on the birth certificate is hers. So the fathers name on the birth certificate is not a real person. According to the US Embassy In Kiev, they said all that they need is a "Thank you for your inquiry of March 10, 2009. The name of the document is "Довідка про те, що батько дитини записаний зі слів матері". In English the document is called the way we wrote you in the previous emails.

If you have any other questions you can contact us via email."

    then they said this

Thank you for your inquiry of March 10, 2009. This is the only document we require in this case.

We hope this information will be helpful.

    Sincerely,

    Public Liaison Unit

    Consular Section

    U.S. Embassy,

    Kyiv, Ukraine

The other way is to get a Ukrainian court to give her sole custody and in this case I have no idea how that would work. We have many months to wait for the interview and that is why i had her start now on getting one of these two options.

It appears that we are not going to have any issues, but wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else has had a similar issue at the Kiev Embassy.

    Thanks

    Dan

  9. In reference to the IMBRA Rule, i meet my fiancee via a site which charged for credits for emails, video chat, etc. I did answer Yes to IMBRA and put all of the contact information for the site operating out of FL. I hope that "Yes" was correct because if i read this correctly, they did not get any money as a result of us getting engaged. Only charged for the services of meeting her.. can someone elaborate.. and I hope i didn't make a mistake on this

You did it fine, it is NOT a white lie at all you told the truth.

Face book and most dating sites are NOT IMB.

An IMB is a broker company that makes $$ when they successfully match people and the result is a Marriage.

  10. About the permission letter for her child, what if she cannot find the man? He just left her and i don't know if she even knows where he is, then What?

What is the link for the download of the packet. Is it called Packet #3 or what am looking for exactly?

    Thanks again

    Hello;

New to this situation and i am wondering where there are good sources for information pertaining to the Visa Interview Process at the US Embassy / Consulate in Kiev Ukraine. I realize that there are forms and more forms. I also know that once we the NVC has processed the I-129F I have read that I should send a complete copy of the I-129F packet to my Fiancee'. True? Also I-134 Affidavit of support should be sent with all required information for the interview, photos, etc.. But what about this mysterious information packet with 156, 156K, DS-230? and this payment to a local bank ?

Bit confused  on the Embassy side, I-129F not any problems. Any help or guidance would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks

You can download packet 3 from the consulate website. It has all the forms you need. DO NOT wait for the consulate to mail this to your fiancee (unless you just like to wait, and want to delay the process by many weeks)

You do not need form ds-230 for the K-1 visa.

Anything you can do NOW, you should. Send the copy of the I-129f filing to your fiancee now. She probably will not need it, but why not? Download the forms now and get working on them. By the time you receive notice your case has been sent to the embassy, you can call immediately for an interview as you will be far ahead of the game and have everything complete and ready (except medical exam and she can do that the day before the interview) DO NOT wait for the NVC, the consulate or anyone else to do anything which you can do on your own. In Ukraine it is not unusual for the fiancee never to receive packet 3 and there is no reason to wait weeks after the consulate receives it for them to mail the packet, then more weeks while you put together all the documents then more weeks to wait for an interview. Get it all done now. For example, your fiancee can go for a police certifcate today, they are good for one year. She can gather all her documents (birth, marriage, divorce certificates, etc.) and get them to a translator so they are ready...now. If there are children involved, get the "permission" letter from the father and get it translated...now. Get your I-134 ready (you may want to wait until closer to the interview for some of the documents, but you can begin preparing it)

But a key to shaving 6 weeks or so off the process is to continue preparing all the documents you need. Make an extra copy of everything and begin preparing your AOS also. When she arrives you will be ready to send the AOS and need only your marriage license, copy of her I-94, etc. I even got a copy of the I-693 (vaccination supplement in advance when I went for the interview)
