Dear VJ friends

My wife's interview is scheduled for March 31, 2009. I received the interview letter on Thursday, Feb 19 and emailed it to my wife. Can she get her medical done in Chandigarh on March 5th or 6th and pay the VFS fees at the same time. Do we have to submit medical report to VFS or take it to the interview directly. Please help.

I am guessing your husband is petitioner and he lives with his parents right since your FIL filed I-864A? Also, Did your husband send I-864 even though he didnt have enough income or filed for tax return?

I think you have a point. The petitioner has to file I-864 and sign it.

My case would have been much faster, but I had a complete fool for an attorney, it seems she delayed my case alot. I would have sent everything to the NVC sooner but she told me a month later.

I am just wondering is there any way to get an interview asap? And what do you need for the interview?

Did anyone else got his or her medical done...The Doc at Chandigarh Apollo clinic just asked me to take 2 vccinations.....MMR and Tdap......thats it and nothing else......No hepatitis A or B or anything else.......

I am getting nervous here...even the blood tests were simple one was for HIV and the other one...I don't remember....apart from that I got a chest X ray, dental, general Vitals

The physican asked me the following questions

1) When did u get chcicken pox

2) Were u admitted to hospital anytime

3) she had lsit of disease..thyroid, epliepsy, TB.......she just ticked them off....

thats it...

I got the report the same day in a sealed envelope...anyone else please your experience too

I called NVC last evening and got the interview date for 31st March...just made it to March list. Looks like the consulate schedules the interviews randomly.

I got my interview date! The automated system wasn't updated because I talked to an operator at 11:30 a.m. and they told me an interview had been scheduled yesterday and the necessary information mailed out. I jumped up and down, screamed, thanked the woman profusely and told her she had just made this the best day of my life, hung up the phone and hysterical laughing turned into hysterical crying. Oh, Allah is good. Thanks for all the support guys!

3 to 4 months. Oh gosh that is a long wait but stay tight and one day that day will come when you will think of all this wait and parise Lord for what you got in hand.

Got interview date for k3 April 22 but nothing on I-130 yet...

Do you all know if the interview is scheduled first and then the package is sent to the Embassy? or is it Vice Versa? Just trying to figure out if I can make the deadline for March interview.

My understanding is NVC scans all the documents and stores them in their system. The consulates do have direct access to these documents for a specific case. Yes NVC sends all the documents (paper copy ...oroginals) to the consulate via DHL. Even if the originals are in transit consulates can look at the scan documents and start scheduling the interviews in the second week of the month.

This is just disgrace that such a simple thing becomes a bureaucratic jargon.

Make your complaint here. If everyone makes a complaint it will make an effect. Email your complaint and keep a copy. I will do some more search and we can send opur complint that were sent to Ahamdabad passport office to the ministy of external affairs.

My husband has gone through this last year. In the end he took the DS-230 cover letter along (which states his name saying send all the requested documents to NVC) with other documents which says that "you have to submit PCC to NVC" than later will get the appointment letter. This process is so hard and time consuming. He also took the print out from the mumbai consulate website, i believe it is Packet 4, which describes the different documents to submit.

Just have to explain the administrative person that PCC is needed to get the appointment letter...

It seems there is a big problem at Ahemdabad passport office. I think we should write letters or emails to the passport office in New Delhi. I know it is in Shastri Bhavan. I will try to find more information. My wife got the PCC from the Jammu passport office in a couple of hours though they ased what it is for and she explained and it was take care of.

Was that from USCIS or from National Visa Center? If they are requesting for original, i only got 1 original copy of marriage certificate. I read somewhere that after the approval, i need to send most of these documents again to NVC and some of those docs, they need to see the original.

this letter came from uscis. your request could be for something totally different. all I know is the faster you get the info back to them the fster you case will resume. as far as having to send docs again I have read that to but I have also read that they will not be needed until your interview. I have copies of everything with my wife in Romania and I will be there for her interview

USCIS needs copy of the documents and NVC require all the documents in original (with translations in english if the originals are in foreign language) except copy of the biographic page of beneficiary, copy of 3 yeards of tac return with copy of W-2 and/or 1099, copy of pay checks. I included 2 1 /2 months of recent pay checks.

Keraliany just wait for the RFE and respond back. Your case had already in review and will be approves as soon as USCIS receives it.

YMR, You seem to be in a different situation than ours. You have applied for a K-1 visa, in which you have to deal with the Consulate direct. Most of the people in this topic are filers for CR-1 visa, where we have to wait for the National Visa Center to schedule our interviews. Congratulations on your interview and good luck!

I called NVC last evening just before leving my work (4:45 PM central time) and got a life person after holding for about 90 seconda and talked to this really nice guy for about 4 minutes (he wanted to talk more but I have to leave and catch my train). He told me as soon as the consulate/embassy schedules an interview the beneficiary will be informed by mail.

He told me that the foreign consulates schedule the interviews and NVC gets that in their system. It seems every consulate or embassy schedule the interview depending upon lot of factors like how busy they are, work load..(they do not have donuts in India that is a good thing but the bad news is coffee is available all around the world), Foreign national holidays or other holidays in that month, staff strength...etc....OOOOOPS....forgot to include....INEFFIEIENCY ??????

Still waiting to hear the good news...can wait to fly to India.

CJ let you wife fill pu a new DS-230 with your current address and where the PR card will be delivered and request the CO to replace the old DS-230 with the new one.

I am in the same situation and going to move by the end of May. have not idea for my new address so I decided to receive my wife's PR card at my friend's address.
