  5. Afternoon Yardies!

Please say a prayer for me this afternoon. My co-worker just got a frantic phone call from his Baby Mama that their 16 y/o son just got shot in a drive-by. He was shot in the stomach & I've tried to assure my co-worker that he'll be okay but I'm saying a prayer right now too. We were just talking about his son this morning & he was telling me that his kid had stopped hanging out with the bad kids & was starting to think about going to college on basketball scholarships. It is so so sad the struggles young people have to go through & just when things seem to be turning around.... :(

Prayers going up. I pray that he has a speedy recovery

  6. Talking about abuse by weak individuals that only have strenght for the women in their life, I was a kid with a mom who went through the same thing all the time. She used to hide behind me to get away from him and he would give her black eyes because he could. But I remember when i was younger and I asked her what was she doing was finally her wake up call to realise that her little girl knew he was wrong to point it out. She they became a demon in his life cause then the shoes was on the other foot and she started to beat him

    WHAT???

ells and i were just talking bout this the other day.. my mom didn't listen to us.. just kept taking up for them.. but i don't blame her.. love can make u do some CRAZY things..

Yes girl she started to beat him, she chopped him, almost burned down his house, gave him quite a few black eyes to make up for what he gave her. The crazy thing is that they stayed together and she cheated on him like there was no tomorrow. He knew but he stuck around but when I migrated her they broke up. When I asked him what caused the change of heart he said that he stayed around to make sure I had all that I needed but since I was no longer there he had no reason to stick around

WOW.. do u think that was the right thing to do?? i mean do u think u benefited from it??.. i decided not to stay for my children and my situation was no physical abuse.. ive heard many ppl say that enduring things for children is not good, but many other ppl that have grown up and said they were blessed by seeing their parents stay together..

I dont really know the reason why my mom stayed, i think it was the fact that she could get his money. He on the other hand said it was because of me. I really didnt like the fact that they were together cause they were always fighting and cussing and trying to involve me into it and it was just not healthy at all. I remember I helped my mom fighted him once when I was 12yrs. I had no respect for him but now I look back and think that he did a lot for both me and my bro not to justify what him and my mom went through. Funny enough they are good friends now

  8. talking about vistor's visa, my cousin has applied several times, a few weeks ago, she went in and to her surprise she was approved for a 10-year visitor's visa just like that...funny thing is, she was in a better position financially back then than she is now. I don't know what factors they use to determine, who gets approved. Good luck JAPrincess.... she wasn't even excited because she thought she was going to be turned down again...the CO didn't even question her, she just went through her paperwork.

    wow...

amazing how this system works

I hope the invitation letter will help her get approved. It would be so wonderful for him to have some sort of family here for the wedding (L)

For whatever reason I have never been able to open the DS-156  Anyone else have that problem??

My cuz never held a job in her life and she got it. Then she recently went back and they gave her a 10 visa. She only stayed a month when she came for the wedding

  10. I'm glad too your brother did what he did. Go Big or likkle bro.

Big Brother was going to petition for guardianship on me. Since I am unable to take care of myself! As soon as he sent me that email I hung up and went looking for an apartment and moved out within a week.

BTW Hubby just received the WELCOME TO US letter. He just called minutes ago. Wooooooohooooooo!:dance:

Congrats on the welcome letter :dance::dance:

  11. JAPrincess, I like the new avatar.

    Thanks Nat :star:

Nobody knows about my Sister-in-law getting a visitors visa?? :crying:

Didn't one of the yardies have their brother-in-law up here recently??

guess I'm off to google....

I HAVE SEARCHED WITHOUT MUCH FOR RESULTS IF YOU GET SOMETHING COULD YOU SHARE ..WE WANT HIS MOM TO BE ABLE TO COME

You can give your SIL an invitation letter that she can take with her to the interview, they will give her a three month visa for that. My cousin got one last summer to attend a wedding. You will need to send her an invitation that you get printed up also. They would just go about getting the visa by paying the fee at NCB, fulling out the application on line and calling to make the appt

  12. Thanks ladies for you prayer and support, it is really appreciated.

I had to fly to Philly on Wednesday night because I couldnt tell my bro over the phone. Lets just say it was not good. Granted my brother never really grew up with his brother, he however have helped him a great deal in the past few years and helped facilitate a change in his brother. At the end of the day, he was his flesh and blood and it hurt him to the core. Once again I want to tell you ladies thanks for the support and sharing your stories also.

    Niecy

  13. I'm so sorry Damniecy. This is truly sad...sickening...senseless...brutual...horrible. Every negative adjective I can think of. It reminds me of a special I watched several years ago about garrison violence. I'm so sorry. There are no words that will ease the heaviness of your heart. You and your family are in my prayers.

    Thanks Jawi.

I want to also tell you congrats on your approval and a speedy recovery

  14. Gunmen shot dead 27-year-old Richard Rance yesterday after they invaded his home at Sudan Pathway, Trench Town.

Superintendent Hugh Bish of the Denham Town police told THE STAR the incident took place about 2:30 a.m. and may be linked to an altercation the deceased had with two women on Sunday.

The officer said that on Sunday, Rance was alleged to have been in a physical dispute with two women from the area. Sometime after that incident, gunmen attempted to shoot Rance but he escaped unhurt, the cop said.

He was less fortunate yesterday morning, however. The Denham Town police are investigating.

  16. and the ironic and quite hilarious thing is when you see how some of these ppl who bash jamaica live you woulda shock!

some of them life is a mess literally and figuratively

most of the very jamaicans dem turn up dem nose on living better than them

I agree with you Bunz...When i go into some people house in Jamaica, I am like can I move in.

  17. Thanks, Newly, Bunz and My2. I appreciate the prayers.

It was definitly an experience living there. But it made me stronger and knew that better existed. They allow the kids to look at it like its nothing and think that the kids should be exposed to it but when these kids grow up seeing it and are used to it, then God forbid they turn to a life of crime it wont be nothing for them to kill someone cause they are used to seeing dead bodies. Whenever someone is killed all you see is crowds around the dead body like its nothing. I cant look at dead bodies. My grand dad died two years ago and I almost faint cause I almost saw his body in his coffin. I could never get used to the killing, or the shots. I have lost people to crime and none is easier than the last. Like Bunz said more than likely nothing will happen and it will be another funeral and the end of it. I would love to read the letter you wrote Lawny

If they do archives I think it's was 2005...I can't remember. I sat on a panel for Amnesty International with some friends I had from back in the day, who were and still doing their best to stop the youth/gang violence in Jamaica. I don't know if you remember when the shot up a funeral that was taking place outside of portmore a few years ago, that was my cousin's husband that died. They had security at the funeral and gun man still shoot up the place. Our flight left Montego Bay late (thank God), so we didn't make it to the funeral in time. We got a taxi from the airport and we heard on the radio that they shoot up some funeral that was taking place we had no idea it was the one we were heading to...not even respect fi di dead

I think I remember something about it( the funeral in Portmore). Thats why sometime when your plane is delayed its probably a blessing in disguise. If them a dig up the dead fi scrap metal then I dont see why they wont shot up a funeral. They used to shot up the buses that were going to funeral. Trust me these people dont have respect for no one

  18. I am really sorry to hear about your bro's family who died. Jamaica is a wonderful place and lots of nice ppl here, but the ugly head of a few are making it seem as if it is a war zone. 95% good and 5% evil. The government, citizens and those living abroad should take back our beautiful country from thugs and gangsters. Politicians in Ja are themselves part of the problem, corrupt cops and gangsters. It is not an easy road but requires the involvement of all to correct this problem.

You are so right about the curruption. Politicans are the ones to blame is most part for the crimes in Jamaica, because they are the ones that used to supply the guns and probably still is to the youths in the inner city. And the worst part is when the ones being played thinks that the polititian is only supplying them with guns when they are playing each side against the other because they want control. They look out for their needs and it stops there. Sometimes the thoughts that go through my head I ask God to forgive me cause if it was up to me I would put all of them in one area and throw a boom in there. or like I am told by my hubby that if it was possible just cut off certain areas so that good people can live their life in peace

  19. Thanks, Newly, Bunz and My2. I appreciate the prayers.
