One more thing.. According to that guide line it take 6 TO 8 week before interview call.. So can you tell me still approx how much time it will take for interview call..

My suggestion to you is dont submit the DS230 package if you dont have all the required documents because will get RFE and you end up waiting again. Let me give you my example, I submited my DS230 package without passport office pcc and now I got RFE(obiviusly) and I dont have my pcc yet so what happend is I end waiting about the sametime as if I were to submit all at once. So its totally your personally decision but this is my suggestion. Once your case is complete at NVC, they assign interview date on second week of everymonth for following month. I dont have exact time how long it will take for interview date to take place because most consulates are busier then others and it also depends on when your case is completed plays big role. My prediction is if your case is completed in feb then most likely you will get april interview date for sure.

I too stayed 5 different place in india after my age of 16. I have mailed and enquired about the same with chennai consulate. They says that I need to collect only two PCC 1. from the Local Police/Commissioner from the place where i am currently residing and 2. from the passport office where the passport was issued. Below is the exact reply i got from Chennai consulate..

Police Clearance Certificate is required from (a) the local/district police serving your current area of residence ( b ) passport office which has issued your passport, assuming that your passport was issued more than six months back. We also assume that you have not stayed outside India.

so, i should write to mumbai consulate ,right?

and wht abt NVC .. will there be any problem if i wont submit other clearances...

Hello! Does K3 require a passport clearance letter too?

This is the first time I am hearing this. What is a "passport clearance certificate"? I am guessing it is a requirement specific to the US Embassy in India.

Passport clearance is police clearance only but when passport is older than six months we've to get clearance from passport office

i went to surat passport office for clearance... the officer told me i hv to re issue my passport wiht my husband's name... now my passport is with my father's name and surname.... do we need to re issue my passport with my husband's name and surname?? we've written both names in DS -230 then, why they are tellin to re issue passport??? i dont know wht to do.. the officer was too rude to ask further question?

As far as I know I dont think you have to new passport with your husband name, but you might want to contact local agent there in surat and ask them. I am sure they might be able to explain to you more in detail. All passport office and local police station people are rude no matter what. Those a$$ hole knows we need pcc to get out case completed so they take advantage of it. My wife will get the pcc from passport office by thursday of this week and I should have it by next tuesday. Then hopefully I will have case complete by end of next week.

i met two visa agents now. they told me it is not important to to re issue with husband's name. also they told in this months only they've finished several cases for k-3 visa and none had to face such problem.. i dont know y that officer had talked with me like tht, anyway i will go tomoro to office again and will demand for clearance at my risk.. i know they know its our painful nerve n thts why they hit on it. will try again tomoro. in fact this time police officer ws very much polite to my surprise. he said no problem n guided properly

do you have all 3 years of tax transcripts? did you send all 3?

YES, i hv all 3 yrs tax papers and employer's letters too. but i dont know they've sent it or not. as my husband and lawyer manages these matters..i just sign documents and send all necessary documents..

Called NVC on 26th since I got my NOA2 in th mail that day and the NOA2 was approved on the 20th. NVC gave me the case number. Called today and it was shipped to the embassy in Manila on the 27h. We cleared NVC in just over a week total. Now onto the embassy and setting up the interview.

one more thing i want to go for passport clearence and PCC but they told me i should hv my approval letter than only they will provide me my clearence? now what should i do ?

also i hv lawyer so do i need to feel DS -3032?

Yes, that CRIS e-mail confirm as your case is approved. I am not sure how surat passport office works on obtaining pcc, but you can certainly try it. I am still waiting for my wife to obtain pcc from ahmedabad passport office, but she will get it tomorrow with interview letter.

Wife received Interview letter(packet 4) in mail today. One step closer to completing this long visa journey.

What I mean by "PCC with interview date" is My wife will try to get PCC from passport office with Interview letter because for some reason ahmedabad passport office asks for interview letter to issue pcc. But I know surat is different so you can try getting pcc with approbal e-mail.

I know NVC process takes longer when lawyer is involved, so if you didnt pay your lawyer any fee I would suggest you remove him from your case and assigend the petitioner as agent to make process faster. You can call NVC to find out how you can remove lawyer from your case and assigned petioner as your agent.

I am sorry to hear about your case and situation but I am in same situtaion. It's been 10 month for marriage and 9 months since we've filed. I know its hard to live without your spouse but Dont loose hope you are almost done, be positive and be strong.

if it ws in my hand i would never give my case to lawyer.. but my in-laws has assigned ths lawyer so i m helpless.

still my husband has mailed to lawyer to speed up processing n he will call him again on monday. it ws okey with him till now but as he is saying still it will take 4 months, i m really furious upon him.. lets see what he does now...

Dont worry, your lawyer said 4 months but it really doesnt take 4 months. Just relaxed and keep on top with your lawyer to make sure he send you the stuff he gets from NVC. You'll be done soon.

i hv got hard cop of approval letter today and i've downloaded DS-230 part-1 and filled up today.. now i can move forward to get PCC...and my husband has called and mailed to lawyer yesterday.. i think it has shown its impect .

u hv nice idea to keep in touch.. we hv same problem, due to time difference we cant talk more than 45 min. but we talk everyday anyhow. if he has night shift i just write mail n he read it uring night.. or just i buy a card n post it on his work place without informing him , kindda surprise for him. After all tht still sometimes disappointments surrounds us like darkness right???? .. i just read his previous mails or go on 123greetings.com n send some e-card of i love you or i miss you... .

Yes, I read his old emails too LOOOOL Sometimes when I talk to him, I read his emails to him and say, "You used to be so romantic, what happened?" LOL and I tease him. Then he says, "You're mine now and you're stuck with me." LOOOL With time, after you're married, you realize that the things they DO are more important than the things they SAY and WRITE. I know from one look that my husband loves me. That says alot.

Yes, every day is a disappointment for everyone waiting. I just promised not to complain about it and since I stopped complaining I feel better. Another day, another week, have all passed. On the bright side...at least 9 months have passed now and I'm 9 months closer to my approval, right?

It's the weekend and so I like chatting here with my fellow waiters. Usually I take the weekend to visit with my brother and my neice. I also take the time to catch up on my house cleaning. I go shopping. I do some cooking. I call my long distance friends and catch up with them. I invite my best friend over for coffee and listen to her complain for a change (gives me a chance to keep my mouth shut about my own problems). Then I give her advice from my own past experiences, tell her how much I love her, and we indulge in something sweet. LOL

Honestly, I like my weekdays better. I stay more busy. I study during the weekdays so I don't have to deal with it on weekends. CE dinners and stuff are always during the weekdays. I get to catch up with my working friends on the weekdays too, and we'll meet after work and discuss what is going on in each other's hospitals LOOOOL A nice way of saying we gossip!

so u work? i dont go for work now, i had to leave job as i could not sign contract for one more year. i hoped i will fly by march..

in week days i study for exam and take care of my two pets.

in weekends i spend more time in going out for shopping and meeting friends. some girly talk and all. some shopping, movies.....

it sucks as no job and no work.

initially when i left job i used to complain a lot and tellin him to tell lawyer to do fast.. lol.. and after a long days often at night tears were rolling outta my eyes suddenly a vaccum created in life but now i m ok with my schedule. my PC is only friend which connects me to outside world in week days.

though weekends are okey now.. i dont complain anymore and i only joke tht i m not comin before april.

its now 11 months of my wedding, and i met m hubby 7 months back. he cant come due to job. and i cant get visitor visa and go thr.

my hubby loves me a lot but he dont write ny romantic mails and all.. but i know he cares for me a lot now he is preparing for my admission and waiting for approval more eagerly than me ....

Some days I talk to my husband for like 4 hours LOL (Before we got married we would talked so much that our families would laugh at us. ) But most days it's only about 30-60 mins. Once in awhile because of time differences and his work, I don't get more than 10 mins to talk to him. I don't let it bother me, because I remember how often he spent hours on the phone with me...patiently listening to girly things like what I bought, where I went, who I talked to, my friends, my cats, and other nonsense most guys don't care about LOL There are some people that cannot talk more than once a week or once every 2 weeks. So try and look on the bright side. You know what I do? Once in awhile if he's in a hurry or can't talk because he's busy, I'll write him a letter on some pretty stationary and mail it to him. Sure, by the time he gets it, it's old news...but he still gets happy to get a letter sprayed in perfume with a big lipstick kiss on it LOL It gives me something to do to stay in touch with him, even when he's busy.

we've our 1st anniversary in feb and it sucks celebrating it alone

i dont know what the hell they are doing by holding our files like this and giving approval to june and july filers.. and not even updating the processing times so we cant even blame them ...

i pray to god for all leftovers,may get their approval soon and get free from VSC asap

and USCIS site shows dates as on sept. 30 what the F** is that..

we filed I-129F on 15 th april and it shows oyr case is at vermont center. got first notice in some 20 days or so. at tht time our lawyer said b december the case will be approved but since last 6 months our case is not touhed.

F*** . . does it take this much long to complete the process. its frustrating to sit and wait. since 6 months my file is not touched. even we mailed NVC.. no response....
