    Hubby's POE was June 14. We waited 3 weeks but no SSN yet. We just applied for a new SSN on Monday and we'll see when it will arrived. Of course no welcome letter nor green card yet....he's getting bored just staying at home and working around all day while I'm working....HE wants to start looking for jobs but without the SSN and not sure about when it'll arrive, he kinda lost the motivation to do so....

    I think the journey should be better once he got here....but this whole immigration process and journey is definitely draining our energy, patience, and money...

    Sigh....

    Just got a call from Joan. She was out of the embassy before 11am and was approved. YEAH!!!

    She got all the evidence put in files neatly and labelled. The officer complimented her on that but she was questioned by them for about 20 mins. Many questions were asked. She felt like she was talking to a friend. She said no food or drink in the embassy and she is hungry.

    So happy for you two!! Congratulations!! Smooth journey at POE. Yeah..the people at the Hong Kong embassy asked a lot of question also in hubby's interview....

    Social Security Card

    I finally received the Welcome Letter on 06/28. It was dated 06/22.

    Card production ordered on 7/1 -- so I'm expecting it in the mail next week.

    My SS card was mailed out on 6/29 -- so that should be coming shortly as well.

    Good that at least there's some green light at the other end.

    We were told that hubby should receive his Social Security card by July 5th. But thinking that we still didn't receive anything yet, no welcome letter neither, we might just stop by the SSN office on the 6th to make sure his number has been assigned....so frustrating...

    thank you every one!!!

    well I was NOT on the list for Today's Interview when I got at the embassy...I was so scared...

    Actually, they have moved up my interview from 28th to 21st when I requested it to the embassy by email...BUT the email I got from them said...

    Date /Time 28-JUN-2010 09:30am*

    * IV appointments for any prior dates have been booked up.

    so they said the email was mistaken and apologized and said everything is ok... :blink:

    I could have an interview a week earlier...oh well...I got approved now so it's ok... :D

    once again thank you sooooo much every one!!!

    I will write the details later....

    hahaha you are still so funny...not naked but try to be a little sexy...no just kidding... ;)

    For those about to POE -- make sure you ask the IO if you've been updated in the SAVE system when crossing over.

    I hate this process. It never seems to end. :diablo:

    Matt+Tina, SPSGuy, Tharnsur and Vivek have received their GCs in the mail.

    Yo, me, Nat, Tat, Doctor, Lukaszk all seem to be waiting on the 'welcome letter'

    Still waiting for welcome letter and SSN and GC for hubby's POE on June 14....besides waiting, what can we do...?

    By the way, congratulations to everyone who got approval and visas!!!

    So, we went to the Social security office last week (Wednesday) after hubby's POE on Monday. The office said he should receive his SSN by July 5, but he's not in the system yet. Should we just wait till July 5, or should we double check with the Social Security office with his A# to make sure he's in the system? Hubby is getting a little bored already and really want to start working (so that he can help, as I'm working 2 jobs 80 hours a week now). HE doesn't want to apply for job now until we know his SSN just in case it would take a long time...

    Hope every one got their welcome letters and SSN soon!!
