  1. Just got a test and email form USCIS, and checked case status on line. Finally!

"On March 8, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

I'm so excited! Best wishes and good luck to all those who're still waiting. I'll update as soon as we received the green card.

Thank you all for your support!

  2. How do you talk to a supervisor? That's one thing I'd live to do! :)

Sorry. I wasn't clear in my previous post...was typing it on my phone :)

I didn't actually talk to a supervisor. The agent who answered the call saw the date we filed, and agree that it's out of the time frame. He said he would forward our info to his supervisor, and that someone will get back to us within 15 days. Gave me a reference number in case we didn't hear anything also. Then I received the email response from USCIS within two weeks saying we'd receive a NOA within 45 days.

I'm thinking different agent handle these situation differenetly. I was just mainly trying to make sure they got our info and our case is still moving, and was trying to see if and how to get the stamp on hubby's passport in case the letter expired. guess I got lucky with the agent? But then hearing something within 45 days would put the date to 4/15/13...so i'm not sure if they are going to pushing our case till the absolutely last minute though... :(

Good luck to you, and all those who are still waiting. This is a really frustrating process!

  3. Sigh. We are one of the 9 left at CSC

I called USCIS on 2/14, and just received an email response from them:

    "Type of service requested:

    -- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 45 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny or Notice of Intent to Revoke.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

    Sigh. So worried now...

  4. Hubby's biometric appointment is going to be on 7/31/2012. I've been so busy that I forgot to update my timeline here. Can someone please do that for me? Thanks a lot!

So except for his IDs and the letter, is there anything else he needs to bring to his appointment? Can I go with him for the appointment since i'd be driving him there anyway...or would they only allow my husband in since he's the only one doing fingerprints and photos? I'm worried about his English. We are going to the USCIS in Seattle.

Thank you all, and good luck/best wishes to every one that's in the process :)

  5. Okay...our check was cashed on 6/6/2012---I can't view the check image though...it's not available on the ebanking website of my bank. But we still didn't receive our NOA 1 yet....hubby's GC is expiring 6/14/2012....I'm planning to call USCIS on Monday if I still didn't see the NOA1 tomorrow (saturday)... anyone know a good phone number to call USCIS to find out the status? I'm so worried as his GC is expiring so soon and without the NOA1, he can't travel or anything... :(

  6. Tried to add myself to the list...but fail....can someone please help adding me to the list? Thank you!

We are so nervous now...mailed forms on 5/19/12, USPS confirmed delivered on 5/21/2012 11:26am; we file really late and is now so just about 2 weeks from hubby's gc expiration date (2nd GC anniversary on 6/14/2012)...check is not cashed yet, no NOA neither....when should I call....?

I shouldn't be waiting so long to get everything ready...now I'm so regretting it....sigh...

    Forms mailed to CSC 5/19/12

  7. Not sure if there's anyone still reading this thread...but finding work is tough! Even more difficult for a new immigrant who doesn't speak much English.

My hubby came in June, 2010. He's 23 and doesn't have a lot of work experience in his home country--it's enough for his home country, but definitely means nothing here. He didn't have a college degree. He read, understnad and speak some english, but not much.

It's so difficult. He tried but with no success. he's so bored at home and because he didn't have a driver license yet, he's staying home a lot. He went online and look for jobs, but have problem filling in the applcations. We filled a few together, but then he just got discouraged...

At least now he i starting his ESL classes soon, which hopefully will keep him busy for a while. I have a stable full time job, and also doing full time office temp work whenever available. He feels so bad that I have to work 2 jobs to support us...especially because my health is not that good...

Every one always ask why he didn't try to work at the China Town. Every other person I know said if he's lazy or if he just doesnt' want to work. Well, he did. He went in to every single chinese restaurants in CHina town and ask but with no success. I'm just getting tired of other's question now.

It sucks and it seems like no one else understand...All i can do is try to stay positive and help him stay positive. I don't remember how many times I have to tell him that IT IS OKAY....

    Sigh...

  8. OK, I'm hoping that someone is still reading this thread that can help me. My case has been closed. My question is should i apply again? or take another route? Now the USCIS says I can apply again, But I'm thinking there may still be my suspended application at the consulate, and It will just happen all over again.Do you know of a better option? or are there any steps i should take on the 2ed go around?

I am prepared to go to Hong Kong to marry her, but I have not researched the best route.I'm hoping for some leads...thank you everyone ...again

I'm so sorry about all that...I have not much knowledge on this situation, but it seems like it might be best to just get married and file for CR1. AND, file with lots of evidence, visit her after the marirage, and even consider being there at the interview. But maybe you can try to see if you or your fiance can confirm with USCIS that there's no more approved case under her name before you file again.

It's not that difficult to get marry in Hong Kong. If you need more info on that, let me know.

Good luck, and best wishes to you both. DO NOT lose hope, just try to keep going and moving forward, and keep the relationship strong and in focus.

    Take care!!

  9. So, I wake up in the morning and checked my FB page. A girl wrote me asking if I live on the address bla bla bla.

I think it's weird, but reply, yes I do. Why? Are we neighbors?

And she replies: I received a letter on your name 2 days ago from Homeland & Security. I live on the building bla bla bla and the letter came to my place (she is my neighbor but thought I used to live in her apt).

I immediately contact her and ask her to keep the mail so I could go there and pick it up after work. She tells me that she left to work but she put the letter back in her mail box to return to the post office!!!! :o

    I wanted to kill myself!

So she tells me that maybe her bf is there, so if I wanted to come over and tell him to open the mail box and give me my correspondence. I run home on my lunch break and he is not there. I write a note and stick it to her mail box asking USPS to get it and bring it to my mail box.

When I finish the my note the mail lady comes in. I couldn't believe I was going to rescue my GC from my neighbor's mail box.

She asks my ID and gives me the letter!!!!!!!!

So to my surprise it was ANOTHER welcome letter!!!!!!!!!! :bonk: :bonk:

Also, the awesome USCIS employees printed the label and instead of putting building 8955 they put 8935!!!!!!!!!! They mistyped my address!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inside the letter was the correct number, but since the person had to make the label he mistyped my street number!!!!!!

How stupid are these people??????????????????????????? Mistyping such an important document??????

Anyway, I wanted to die!!! I came home on my lunch break hoping to get my GC and it was the 3rd welcome letter!

Ok, I already feel very welcome to the country, can we please deliver my freaking card now??????????

    :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn:

Sorry about all the problems....hope it will all work out soon...

As for us, we finally received hubby's green card yesterday the 26th....but the weird thing is....when he tried to register for selective service online (He's 24 years old), it said that there's a problem with his SSN....we're now worrying if the SSN office somehow have 2 numbers for him or what....sigh...so confusing.
