  1. 1. Is there any way to find out the approval date of I130 without filing I-824 to get a duplicate one? I think we lost ours and now need that to determine the cspa age!
Is it the same date when the case was fwded from USCIS to NVC?

    2. when does the age freeze for kids? When the case is sent  to NVC or when the interview is scheduled at the embassy?

    3. any idea about the current F3/ F4 interview dates?

  2. My husband is the joint sponsor to my sisters petition filed by my mom. My mom does t work and has no source of income.  However he also sponsored his parents in 2015 who currently live with us and are permanent resident. For the current household size, will they be counted under (part 5 - line 5) other dependents (they don’t have an income and are dependent on our Tax returns) or (part 5- line 6) other persons on form I 864 who are now permanent residents?
He makes enough to be 125% above the poverty line with all the household members and sponsoring family but just wanted to make sure if we count them once or twice? If once, then which category? Thanks everyone.

    Working backwards

    - for the one born Jan 1999, the PD needs to be current by June 2021 to remain eligible.

    - for the one born Aug 2000, the PD needs to be current by January 2023 to remain eligible.

Thank you. This is very helpful .. by current meaning NVC has issued their invoice and requested documents.. right?

Yeah so it’s just around a year and a half, so basically anyone older than around 22 1/2 when their priority date becomes current won’t be eligible.  F4 is current for July 2006 as of now so it’s probably a good while still till the PD becomes current too unfortunately- the younger two should be fine, the 1998 one will probably be borderline and exact dates will matter then. 1996 has already aged out.

Sorry I got the dates now and it’s Jan 25, 1999 and August 12, 2000.

    Need more information

    Priority date of petition

    approval date of petition

birth dates of the potentially eligible derivatives (it seems you know the married one is no longer eligible)

the basic calculation is subtract time between approval date and priority date from actual age, on the date a visa becomes available (this last date you don’t know exactly yet), this adjusted age needs to be under 21 to be eligible for a visa

yeah even if I put random dates, except the one born in 2008, rest of them probably won’t be eligible 😞

I thought it was just the married ones but I guess I was wrong!

When was your mom's petition for her brother approved? What year?

    May 25, 2010

  6. My mom applied for her brother and his family  (my uncle) in December 2008.. priority date will be in a year or so but I am wondering if his children will be eligible for the immigration or not.

His children were born in 94, 96, 98, 2001, and 2006 ( the older one is married now) so technically 3- 4 of them will be over 21 by the time his process starts at NVC

does NVC go by the date when the application was filed or how does it work? Thanks

  7. yes it's a married daughter of USC.. application was filed in 2008 and we just got the approval from USCIS. So now the applciation stays at NVC for another 8-10 years? or do we need to process any information? I have tried calling NVC but case number hasn't been assigned yet. We dont have any issues with waiting, I just dun want to miss something that we are supposed to do in the meantime!

  8. Hey guys, sorry to hear about all of you still in AP. Wish you all luck. I have a question. Does anyone know about what happens after the immigrant gets to the us? I'm wondering how long it took for a social security card and green card. I'm not sure if we have to apply for them or if they automatically get mailed to us? Please share your experience. I want to get his stuff right away so he can look for jobs and such. Thanks a lot and good luck.

We were wating for our SSC to arrive in mail but after two weeks we just went ahead and applied for it since I only had one month to put him on my insurance at work after his arrival date.. We went to the office again after three days, got the number and then the card arrived the following week so yes you have to go and apply for it because I dunno anyone who just received it in mail.

We received SSC and green card in mail the same day.. one month after his arrival :)

    Is your husband here yet?

  9. waiting4rana.. when did you file?

It may comfort you to know that it takes atleast 1-1.5 year for the whole process.. for some people, it's longer at USCIS, some get stuck at NVC, and some have longer AP's so if everything else went fast enough for you, be patient. It will be over soon.

In my case, I was on AP for 33 months at USCIS and then it took about 11 months for my husband to receive his visa.

  10. Congratz Feisal.. finally its over.. when will you be joining your wife?

Someone who asked about the number of times we called DOS.. after the interview, I called them pretty much every other day- now I look back and laugh at myself but at that time that was the only comfort.. had good and bad days with DOS but that never stopped me from calling until I was told that visa has been issued! :-)

  11. My mom as a US citizen filed for her brother in 2008 at Vermont Service Center. We received a notification recnetly that case has been trasnferred from VSC to Nebraska Service Center, I checked the processing time and Nebraska is way behind on processing 1-130 (FROM 2004) however Vermot is processing applications from 2007.. Any idea why would they transfer the case? Does it happen on usual basis or what? Should we even contact USCIS to inquire about it?
