  1. hey Guys,

So i am a US Citizen applying for my wife she resides in Karachi, Pakistan.

We got married back in Jan, ok so i applied for k3 and 1-130.

Everything is going smooth until i received a letter from NVC regarding my I-130 Submittal. The letter was for AOS (Affidavitt of support)

So i talked to a rep over at NVC she told me if i have applied for K3 and thts the route i am choosing then i need to send in paperwork letting them know tht i will be adjusting my status.

The question that i have for people specially in Pakistan is that:

Should i wait for 1-130 or give preference to K3 route. Which is faster especially in pakistan...

    Please advise..

    thanks

  4. So i sent the 1-130 in already stating that i was naturalize with my certificate #. I forgot to check mark that i was naturalize through my parents.

I sent a copy of the NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE as well.

Do you think this will be a problem? Should i resubmit the application?

    ALSO

I am about to apply for 1-129f and should i fix this mistake or do i keep how 1-130 is?

I am stuck guys....a little guidance....

  5. Thanks

Another question i had was under B.18 in the guide it states to put n/a under this? Why. I am currently married so is it assuming that i am not?

"Form I-129F: Petition for Alien Fiance(e). This form may be used to obtain a K-3/K-4 visa for your alien spouse and her or his child. Fill out the form as directed, except assume that "fiancé" or "fiancé(e)" means "spouse." answer Questions B.17 and B.18 by stating "N/A." Note that filing this form is only necessary to facilitate the entry of your spouse and her or his child as a nonimmigrant. "

this question is specifically for the k1(fiance visa) so it is "n/a" in your case. I marked "n/a" and got approved

stressful filling them out huh? :)

    yah it is..lol...

did you do "no" or left it blank and then "N/A" ?

  6. the "transfer notice" is you 797(notice of action). make a copy and send it with the 129f.

    another fee is not required.

going the k3 route is up to you :)

since you are at the cali center, you shouldnt experience any long delays, like at the vermont center. although the 130 stand alones do get processed faster. I would check with some vj members at you consulate to see how far out they are scheduling interviewsfor the two. then you can use that to help you make a decision.

    good luck

    Thanks lisa for that reply...

You said its the 797 notice of action but in the guide # 10. Copy of the NOA1 from the I-130... (aren't these both the same thing?)

yep, the notice of action(NOA1) and the transfer notice are one in the same.

    Thanks

  8. Hey Guys,

I just received the NOA1 i-797c for the 1-130, and had a couple of questions as i am about to apply for K-3

A little background, i just applied for i-130 and received the NOA1. Is K3 the right way to go? My spouse is pakistani and my service center is California.

    In the 1-129f package checklist.

It list "Copy of I-130 Transfer Notice (indicating where your underlying I-130 petition was routed to after it was filed at the appropriate Chicago Lockbox)."

    What is this?

Also do i need to submit another fee even though i submitted a fee for i-130?

    Thanks for your help

  9. You can file for K3, but my personal suggestion is that you should go for CR1/IR1 instead of K3. Why??? Because 1) CSC is very fast and you should be approved within 6 months 2) Before Feb 2008, NVC was doing Document processing for CR1/IR1, that meant that US embassy in Islamabad was sceduling interviews in Pakistan and it was taking 6 months or more after the file went from NVC, BUT NOW, NVC is sceduling interviews here and it is taking only two months, so if u file for K3, it is going to take almost the same time

    3) K3 is hectic and expensive because you have to go through AOS process here in the US

    Good luck!!

This is what i gathered so far....

IR/CR1 Process is just a Green Card Process, meaning what i applied for currently is IR/CR1? Is that correct?

K3- Is a visa where i can apply for after getting my NOA I-797C for I-130 submittal?

I am just double checking since.... after reading many post or guides i am a bit confused.

I should apply for K3 visa? If i do so how long will it be before approval?

    Thanks

  10. I just send in my 1-130 application and waiting for Notice of receipt from USCIS. I checked online delivery confirmation and it received in Chicago. How long before i hear from them or receive a receipt?

I was looking at the requirements for K-3 Visa for my spouse it says i need to send G-325A form again. Is that tru? I already sent G-325a form with 1-130 application.

Please advise. also are there any thread that shows what people did after they sent i-130 off to USCIS?

    Thanks,

  11. Ok i have the package compiled I-130 for my Fiance, please see my cover letter to see what is included in the package...

You can put the Chicago address back in if it will fit on one page. The passport photos should go into a Ziploc sandwich bag (Write the name on the back of each photo and use separate bag and sheet for each picture.) stapled to a full sheet of paper and inserted in the stack in the order they are mentioned in the cover letter. Logically, that's behind the respective G325a forms. You mention the marriage certificate is English. If not originally in English, submit the foreign language version with the translation.

My mailing recommendation is USPS Priority Mail with "delivery confirmation", not certified or anything requiring a delivery signature.

Thanks, i will use that cover letter.

Under beneficiary address, the address field was too long for me to put the full address so i wrote "See Attached" and i attached a typed paper stating what the address is.

This is what it says on the attached piece of paper. Is this correct?

    Attached Document for I-130.

    C. Information about your relative.
