Answer each question by checking ''Yes'' or ''No.'' If any part of a question applies to you, you must answer ''Yes.'' For example, if you were never arrested but were once detained by a police officer, check ''Yes'' to the question ''Have you ever been arrested or detained by a law enforcement officer?'' and attach a written explanation.

    Part 10. Additional Questions.

We will use this information to determine your eligibility for citizenship. Answer every question honestly and accurately. If you do not, we may deny your application for lack of good moral character. Answering "Yes" to one of these questions does not always cause an application to be denied. For more information on eligibility, please see the Guide.

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-400.pdf

For the purposes of this application, you must answer ''Yes'' to the following questions, if applicable, even if your records were

sealed or otherwise cleared or if anyone, including a judge, law enforcement officer or attorney, told you that you no longer have a

    record.

    Part 10. Additional questions. (Continued.)

    D. Good Moral Character.

    15. Have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were not arrested? Yes No

    16. Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law enforcement officer

(including USCIS or former INS and military officers) for any reason? Yes No

    17. Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or offense? Yes No

    18. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense? Yes No

    19. Have you ever been placed in an alternative sentencing or a rehabilitative program

(for example: diversion, deferred prosecution, withheld adjudication, deferred adjudication)? Yes No

    20. Have you ever received a suspended sentence, been placed on probation or been paroled? Yes No

    21. Have you ever been in jail or prison?

You received citations, right? I would rather enter them in my application and give an explanation, than obmit them and have USCIS doubt my character. I even included when I got pulled over for speeding and was let go with a warning. But I'm not an expert and I can be overly correct at times.

I entered my info. I mailed my application to Nebraska from where it was forwarded to Phoenix Lockbox Center. I received my NOA1 from NBC, that's why entered this as my Center (I'm not sure if that's correct). And I entered the date when my NOA1 was issued, not when I received it. Also, I think Washington DC is my Field Office, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Feel free to edit my info.

  3. Hello All, It seems as though I am lacking on the NOA notice, hopefully that is just a sign of holiday mail! Congrats to everyone else who received theirs, it seems as though most are moving pretty fast.

Just wondering, how did you guys receive your notices?

I received mine by mail (I think on the 23rd or 24th). I'm sure that the holidays slowed some of the mail down.

  4. I'm new here and I've been searching for this topic but couldn't find anything that compares to my case. I have found cases where people were on military orders to go overseas or were living overseas on military orders at the time and I found information that they were eligible to apply for citizenship. My case is a little bit different.

I am a military spouse and I have been a LPR since 1999. We lived in the States from 1999 to 2003. In 2003 the military sent us overseas and I have orders with my name on them. In 2007 we were moved back to the States, I also have military orders for that. Now I found the following memorandum which, if I read it correctly, states that I didn't break my residency and physical presence requirements:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...o_08-15-08).pdf

But I was wondering if anyone actually has become a citizen after their military overseas assignment. As I said, all the cases I could find were people who were either getting ready to move overseas or who were living overseas already. My understanding is, that if you have at least one year of your overseas tour left, you qualify for expedited naturalization and you don't even have to meet any residency requirements as long as you're a Greencard holder. But what about the military spouses who have been overseas already and have returned to the US? Has their residency been interrupted by the overseas assignment?

  5. Did anyone who had their application forwarded ever get a delivery confirmation from USPS? Or did you just know it had arrived because your check was cashed? My application was forwarded from Lincoln, NE 10 days ago and since then there have been no further tracking updates. USPS said they are willing to investigate why it has not been delivered but I didn't see the point in pursuing that if everyone is in the same boat.

I mailed my N-400 to Lincoln, NE on 12/10 via delivery confirmation + return receipt. According to USPS my envelope arrived in Nebraska 12/12 and was directly forwarded to Phoenix Lockbox Center. On www.usps.com it shows that my application was delivered in Arizona on 12/15. I contacted my local Post Office where they could print out a detailed info about the "journey" of my application. Also, I contacted USPS by email and received a reply. Meanwhile I received my return receipt, stamped by USCIS Lockbox Phoenix on Dec 15th.

My check was cashed 12/22 and my NOA (I-797C) was mailed by NBC Missouri on 12/19 with a Priority Date of 12/15.

    I hope this helps.
