  1. HI all,

Im about to start the K3/CR1 process for my spouse. He's living in South Africa, originally from Zim. I'm in New York at the moment. We met while I was studying in South Africa on an off and have been together about 8 months, married for 1 month. If anybody has applied for someone who was living in a third country, send me a private message; I'm wondering if that created any special problems for you.

Just wanted to say thanks to all for sharing your stories and tips online!

    kate

    Hi Kate

I'll also be going through the South African embassy but Im originally from Lesotho.

    Goodluck!

  2. I don't have a bank account, and to get a money order from a bank, you need to open an account. So I was going to get my money order for my K-1 Visa at the store. Its called a money gram money order, and it has the name of Wells Fargo bank on the money order. Is this acceptable to use, or must I have a bank account and get a money order at a bank? thanks for helping!!

Yes money orders drawn on u.s banks are acceptable. goodluck

  3. I agree with the author.. I wonder if the single form is all that is required now, or if there are still 4 copies needed... If they are inputting the data from the single form into a system for the other departments.. then only one should be required...

i think 4 copies would still be needed because each copy goes to a diferent place like the consulate and all. But im happy they're still accepting previous editions

  4. When was this form updated? My fiance and I were waiting for the new version before we mailed the packet. Will they accept the old form as of July 6, 2009 receipt date? Or is it likely that we will be receiving RFE for it?

Yes they will accept the one you sent because even with the new version they put for 3 days, it still showed that older versions would be accepted

  5. This might seem a little slow, but I'm confused by some parts of this form.

    Where it has

Applicant: Be sure to put your name and Alien Registration Number in the box outlined by heavy border below

What is an Alien Registration Number and do we both need to fill this part out?

    Also, where it has

This form is submitted in connection with an application for:

Do I tick "Other" and then type K-1 Visa? Or is it one of the other options?

P.S. Not exactly related, but I didn't want to create another thread. Do they only need a photo copy of the birth certificate or do they want the original document?

I put NONE for Alien Registration number

'This form is submitted in connection with an application for': I-129F. Im sure K1 Visa is correct as well, i just used what is used in the example forms

  6. Hello to visajourney members,

I was looking on the USCIS page at the form G-325A and i saw that they update it and expires at 06/30/20011 ...now this form has just 2 pages and one of them is instructions.

my question is: we still must put 4 pages for each in the I-129F packet and to sent to USCIS or it just ok to complete 1 page for each like it shows in the updatet form?

i saw also that in the K1 Guides it says that complete 4 pages and in USCIS page say that this form contain 4 pages!!!

i hope that you can help me , because i'm so confused

i wish you all the best

    H&J

I just realized the same thing. But on the Biographic information on this new G-325A form,it still shows the number of pages as 4. To be on the safe side, Im going to use the pervious edition because it's accepted as well.

    Goodluck!

  7. I've just found this site via UK Yankee and Dive Into America and thought I would introduct myself. I'm a USC (dual UK) married to my British husband. We've been living in the UK for the past four years (nearly), but have now decided we'd rather raise our family in the US.

Our I-130 petition was received on June 4th along with my credit card being charged the $355 fee. Now, we're playing the waiting game. Sigh. I was really hoping we'd have our NOA by now, but I guess things have really slowed down at the London Embassy. Anyway, hi and good luck with all your applications!

Welcome & Goodluck with your journey!!

  8. Passed my interview today.. was at the USEM at 6 am for my 7 am appointment, got done at 11 am. This website has been a huge help for us.. i just want to share the questions asked by the CO, for those with upcoming interviews to somehow pass the kindness forward..

*When and where did you meet your husband?

    *What does he do?

*Do you plan to work in the United States?

    * What is your job in the Philippines?

    *When did you got married?

He also asked things about my US tourist visa, other trips abroad, etc.. All in all the interview lasted for about ten minutes.

Good luck to everyone. God bless!

    Congratulations!!!

  9. Hi guys

I'm putting together my part of our k1 petition package (I'm the beneficiary).I went to get my passport size photo a few minutes ago and the woman who was taking the photo told me that I couldnt smile on the picture if i was going to use it for anything America visa ralated.

    How true is this??

  10. Hi everyone,

She got approved on second K-1 visa.

I guess we were very lucky our attorney "MarcEllis" which petition our second K-1 was in Guangzhou.

I really don't know how to thank him. He came to our hotel Sunday with her Chinese assistant. He wrote a letter for me interviewed her, he checked our documents. Her assistants came back Monday with new folders and organized our papers, they toke more pictures of us. They done everything for us. He did not asked for any money??? I will send him a gift. He was sent by God to us.

My fiance said they asked her: When we met first time, how many times I came to China and they saw our pictures.

I want to thank everyone here.

    Ramin.

    Great News!! Congratulations! :star:

  11. I noticed tonight that I had 3 blue squares under my name. I checked the # of posts I made and saw that it was 95. So I wondered... if I get to 100, will the # of blue squares change to 4? Sure enough, it did!

So now I wonder, how many posts will it take to get to 5 squares?

I didn't find anywhere on the site that specified how many posts it takes to get to each new square (then heart).

I didn't know the meaning of the blue squares but now i know!

Now Im hoping Im a junior member

  12. Go give you my backstory...I just returned to Australia after studying on an F1 visa in the US for 2 1/2 years. Now I am back home, my fiance and I are going to pursue the K1. A few people have told me that F1 students are subject to the two year home residency rule, however, I was under the impression that only J1's were subject to that. There is nothing to that effect stamped onto my visa, nor was I advised of it when I got my visa. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I have never heard of this... I was also on F1 for 6 years and yet to file for my K1. i left the U.S December of 2007. Well, lets wait for the responses.

    Goodluck

  13. Getting ready to send packet I have checked and rechecked and rechecked....one thing on my fiances G-325A I can't fit his address in the little space provided What in the world should I do....oh the stresss....help

    Sandra

I had the same problem. Some of the addresses in Vietnam have no street number and name, but they DO have the name of the hamlet, commune, village, ward, district, and province.

Put the address on a separate page. Follow the instructions for attachments: put your full name at the top of the page, and describe what the attachment applies to; e.g., G-325A Beneficiary. Label each item on the page; e.g., Applicant's residence last five years.

On the form, write "see attachment".

    JimVaPhuong

So how did you fill out the adress? We also dont have street names & numbers in Lesotho. Should i just write the district and town name?

  14. So it's totally fine to put "Unknown" if my father is not listed on my birth certificate? Thank you God! i was stressing a lot about that.

I wouldn't put "none" where the father is listed because obviously you do have a father. Put "unknown" - that's ok! USCIS knows that not all people come from perfect nuclear families

    good luck.
