Got a text message today saying my case status got updated. I checked online and it said i am now "Placed in line for interview".

Any early filers in January got the same thing yet?

Also, I noticed in December filer forum, they have the "Int In Line" column on the time line and our forum time line doesn't. I am not really tech savvy so i don't know how to fix the whole entire timeline like that. Could someone please be so kind and help add that column for all of us? Thank u very much!

This info might help you coz we sent the package on the same

day,1/03/13, to Phoenix. My package was delivered to Phoenix on 1/07/13. I received a text

message for NOA on 1/10/13 and then I received the NOA via regular mail last

Saturday 1/12/13. The notice date was 1/9/13, a day earlier than the text message.

I just noticed that the notice says: Upon receipt of all required

record checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your

local USCIS field office.

Once you received your NOA can you please advise if you have the

same message? Thank you.

I finally received my NOA in the mail today 01/19/13 ! Whoohoo! Notice date on the letter was 01/16/13. It also said my Fee Waiver was approved. My case number starts with NBC.

By the way, my NOA said the same thing about "upon receipt of all required record checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office" as well. It's prob a generic phrase.

Hopefully, my biometrics letter will come in a couple of days

NOA1 arrived in the mail today. It has the same statement about all required checks and scheduling an interview at the local office. Interesting that at the bottom where is lists the address to write if you have a question about your case, in the part that says Attention: N-400, following that is what appears to be a case number, but it is different from ours. At the top, our case number is the same one as we received in the text message and email.

Well i went to my PO box today and still nothing in the mail. So I called USCIS, talked to the regular agent, then they sent me to 2nd level agent to find out more about my case since i don't have a receipt number. After like 45 mins wait (lol), finally someone came on the line. Gave him my name and my A#, he couldn't look it up either. He asked if i see the check cleared the bank, i said well i applied for a fee waiver so i didn't send in any check. He said "ah, that's it right there" then explained to me that's why i haven't received any notice yet because for fee waiver, it takes them more time to look at the application and verify if i qualify for it before sending out a acceptance letter. So he said to wait another 2 weeks then call back. Ugh

Oh well, it is what it is. Let's hope it will be processed soon and I will receive the NOA soon *fingers crossed*

I did not receive a text message yet but when I saw your posting that your biometric notice is on the way I checked my status online.

It says they sent a biometric notice today, 1/14/13.

You are so right, it is moving fast. I hope that this pace will continue until the end of the process and that it will be the same for all January 2013 filers.

Also, i actually did apply for a fee waiver. I don't know if any of you have any experience or knowledge about the fee waiver. Does it takes longer for fee waiver candidate just because it takes extra time for them to look at that extra stuffs and make decision? or the timeline & stuffs are about the same?

Didn't you say you send yours on 01/04? I sent mine on 01/03 and they it didn't get delivered by 01/09. I forgot to request email/text NOA so i have to wait for NOA actual letter. Could you please let me know when you receive the actual NOA letter and biometrics? I heard u said u got the text on the 8th or something. Alsp, i am using PO box as my mailing address since it's more secure to get all my important mails sent to there, we have to share mailbox at our physical address and experienced some messed up delivery sometimes. Anyhow, I hope PO box as mailing address is OK to use for N400 as mailing address.

Interesting. Mine said it was sent to NBC, but I am from CA too. My case #the is also an NBC #.

What's NBC? I am from CA as well (San Jose). I sent mine out on 1/3/13 via Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Checked USPS website and it noted the package got delivered yesterday morning. Too bad I forgot to put in the form to request text notification of NOA.

Hello, everyone!! Greetings from FL!!!

I have a question- what is the difference between An IRS tax return transcript and Tax return ( I am collecting documents and thought this is the same, but according to USCIS I am wrong ; )) ? I will submit my app next week. And I have turbotax copies of tax returns and I am not sure if this will be sufficient enough.

Think of it this way: tax return = purchase order (forms that you submit to IRS) and tax transcript = receipt (showing IRS has accepted your tax return submittion and you truly did file tax with IRS).

That's why USCIS always prefer to have tax transcript over tax return because anyone can create a tax return doesn't mean they submit it or it's correct. But the transcript is printed directly from IRS in a different format than tax return (you'll see when you order it, although the final number is the same, the format of the form is entirely different) and it's basically a proof to show both: a) you have filed taxes b) you and your spouse are still together.

Hence there's a OR between a) b) c) in the items they ask for. If you have your tax transcript, you don't need to submit leases or morgage or bank statements. I heard you can just bring those extra documents to the interview just in case they ask.

To obtain a transcript, you can order online, via phone or in person at your local IRS office.

Not sure if I add the timeline successfully or not. Could anyone help me out?

1)I have been married to a US citizen for 4 years and I have my green card for 4 years now. I didn't apply for citizenship last year when I was 3 years married and have my green card for 3 years. However, is it still ok if I apply for N400 now and use the "3 year married to US citizen" rule for my case? I guess my question is for that 3 year rule, do you have to do it at 2 years 9 months or 3 years exactly and if you miss that period and you are over that amount now, you have to wait till 5 years to file for citizenship?

I really freaked out about this whole thing, i check my status online like 5-6 times a day. I really think the ppl who monitor that program their will shocked wondering wat the heck is going on with me... lolzzzz

I had the interview on Dec 10th and had all the paper work required (only thing is that i was wrongly arrested one time last year and the case has been dismissed and i brought the court dismiss paper work and everything) and answered pretty well all the questions and brought all the proofs to prove our relationship. At the end,the officer told me he would let me know the decision in the mail. He said he needs to "further review" the case and showed us the door. We were worried. I don't really know why he had to further review it since i had provided all the stuffs they could ask for.

SInce then, i have been checking my online status everyday and i noticed it has been touched twice, one on Dec 12th and the second time is today Dec 15th. But the status still said the same thing like 2 months ago: case received and pending.

Does it mean anything for your case been touched a lot like that?

Anyway, this is how my interview was and i hope anyone on here who experience the same thing can advise me on what i should be expected. i would really appreciate it.

So me and my husband (he's the USC one) had the AOS interview on 12/10/08. The weird thing is usually there is only one person interview you, but as soon as the officer walked us into the room, he introduced another officer sitting in the back as an "observer" and that he will observe this conversation ( he has a pen and a paper on his lap too).

He first asked us to put the both of our IDs on the table and my passport, visa, i-94 as well then asked me about my name, address we live right now and he moved on to ask my husband questions about his name, job, you know usual questions on how we met and how did we decided to get married.

Then he asked about my college, my major, my courses in school and if i was maintaining my F1 visa status during the whole 3 and 1/2 years in the States, then i told him the first 2 years and a half i was always was but then i started to almost finish every requirements classes for transfering so i stopped going to school since Sep of 2007 and plus at that time i was short on money, i told him i didn't have money to continue going to school either and explained it cost me $3,000/quarter for schooling. ( i was very honest coz i know he knew all the details, he just asked to see my response). But i told him now i can manage to go back to school again in january and he seemed to be ok with it.

Then during the interview, he asked me 3 times if i ever leave the US ever since i m here and i never did travel outside as of yet so ofcourse i said no.

After that, he moved on and asked me if i ever get arrested. I told him yes, but it was a misunderstanding situation and the court has dismissed my case and i showed him all the court certified paper work of the complete case and the court disposition. ( it happpened in jan 2008 when me and my husband had an argument about having sex which i also told the interview officer and he laughed about it. Sorry if i said anything abt it but i needs to explain my case so you guys can advise me so lolxzzz...

anyway, i told him my husband wanted to do it 1 more time and i didn't so he argued and pushed me around and acting very angry, so i was scared and bit him on his chest in other to ran out of the room and stuffs. Ok, long story short, basiclly, i explain to him i was defending myself in that case and for that reason, the court lack of evidence to find me guilty so they dismiss the whole case).

And he says he will keeps all the orginial paper work then moved on to ask if we are doing ok now. Me and my husband told him yes, we learn our lesson after that time and we worked things out, compromise and been very happy ever since.

He nodded his head and asked me besides this, if i ever did any crimes, wrongdoings, or do anything illegal like drugs, gamble this and that and i told him absolutely No, not even back in my home country. I told him i was pretty good person and said again the court situation was just a defending act for myself.

After that he moved on to the financial affadavit of suppport paper work and he didn't ask anything about it, he said that seems like you guys very qualified with this already. I also added i am currently working after i got my EAD card. SO he wrote down my company name on the file and stuff.

After that he asked about our proof of living together. I gave him the phone bills, innsurance cards and bills and policy, bank statements, retal agreement ( all have both of our names on it).

Then he asked for some photos, i gave him like 25 pix of me and my husbands and us with friends. Then he asked " so you don't have any pix with family and stuffs", i told him no because 1 my parents are in my home country, 2nd my husband's parents are old and they don't like to take take much pictures.

He then asked if we see each's other family. My husband ofcourse only saw my uncle here, and i said i met his family and the lastest time we hung out with his parents was we taking them for black friday shopping.

And he said ok, that's pretty much it. He said he will have to further review our case and let us know the decision in the mail whether or not we pass or have to come back for a 2nd interview. He gave me 2 paper works, 1 having all these check box such as congratulations, you been approved and stuffs.

he checked in the box of further review and the 2nd paper is the paper explaining about conditional greencard, and how to remove it to get a 10 years one which he explained i might needs this info later. ( is that a good sign?????)

well, so we came home and all wondered what did we answer wrong in there, and what else they need to review ? we are very confused and worried right now and i kept checking my status online like 3 times a day lolzzz.. they updated it yesterday about the update date and the note still saying "case received and pending" like in 3 months ago.

Can everyone give me some advice or sth and should we schedule an INFO pass next week or so?
