  1. My Wife and I filed to remove her conditional Green card and get a permanent G Card last March (12-March-2012) we have received a latter indicating a year extension and she went for Bio Metric but since then I haven't heard from them, its been almost a year since I filed and on the website still is showing "Initial Review" I have started worring about this as its been almost a year, what should I do?

  2. Hi Every one,

My wife received her Conditional G Card almost 2 years ago, now I'm in process of helping her file the I-751 for removing the condition from it. also it shows that her Green card expires about 90 days from now, which she used this G Card as a work permit to obtain Job in the US. I just checked on the USCIS's website and I have noticed that it takes at least 7 months to finish the review process and obtain the new G-Card, now what will happen to her work permit when her G Card expires? do I have extra paper work in mean while to obtain a new work permit while they are reviwing her application?

Orginialy 2 years ago, when she received the G Card, I contacted the USCIS and asked them about work permit, they told me that the G-Card is her work permit and she shouldn't expect any thing else.

    Thanks,

    Kia

  3. Hi Every one,

I just have a quick question, my wife came here with a K-1 visa and we got married, still she is on conditional green card. during our marriage, she had a medical condition which she was out of control and I had to call police, but they arrested her for Assualt and battery but later or she got admited to a hospital and charges got dismissed immidiatly.

Now I'm wondering what should I do for lifting condition from her green card when I'm ready to file for her?

    Thanks

  5. Hi Every one,

after a very long jouney my fiancee came here and we got married, now I think this marriage is not working, I filed for AOS about a month ago and she went for her BIO, now I'm thinking that we should get divorce as she is too moddy and crying too much and......

I'm wondering if I can cancel the AOS and pull the I-865 for support from the application.

    Thanks for your answer.

  6. Hi Every one,

do I have to send the I-693 form signed by the doctor for AOS? My fiancee came with K-1 Visa, she took her Midical test in Turkey and I only have the Vaccisnation record that Dr. gave us. she took the Med-exam in Sept-2009.

does she have to do the whole process again before I send the AOS packaged?

I called the doctor and he told me that she has to do the whole process again and it cost $250 for X-ray, Blood and vaccination.

should I send the AOS package without the I-693 and just the Copy of Vaccination card?

  7. Hi,

My Fiancee came here in Jan 2010 and we are getting married withing next week or so, I know that I can't claim her on my 2009 Taxes as my wife, but I paid all her expences for visa, travel, Application fees, my travel to Turkey and other visa related fees, I'm wondering if any one knows if I can claim those expnces on my 2009 Taxes?

    Thanks

  8. Congrats :dance::dance::dance:

Don't worry about POE, is easy

    :dance::dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

After 2 months (seemed like a century) of A/p my fiance got his visa today and hopefully will get on a plane tonight and come home to me if he gets a ticket if not well we may have to dish out some money for business class...

It doesn't matter I am just happy.

Now the panic starts for POE

Does any body know the procedure for LAX are they easy? though?

    Happy Holidays every one.

  9. do yo really want to send 300 photos?!!!!!!!! why? 10-20 of them is enough, just print them in color on letter paper or make a photo album out of them, I printed 3 photo in color on each page and stapled them together, also i sent them a 10 page photo album of our engangment.

you should be fine, if every thign is reall.

just don't worry and be relax.

don't forget to put a cover letter and write what is in the package.

    Good luck.

So, up until now, I've kept triplicate copies of everything I've submitted to USCIS and the NVC. In addition, I have a wedding album (20 professional shots of my wife and I) and around 300 pictures (of the wedding, our time together in Iran, and a vacation we took to Dubai during the summer), phone bills, ticket stubs, emails, etc. So here's my concern: how the heck do I organize this? The application things are organized, insofar as I have two complete packet copies, but the ticket stubs, the phone bills, all of that, should I have this in a binder? Should the photos (which I had printed, so I have a bunch of 4x6s) be put into another album, or can I just bring the photos themselves? I'm just not sure how organized the additional evidence needs to be--I mean, does taking 5 seconds to find something, vs. 15, make a huge difference?
  10. Any News on her visa?

her case number appeared on the site four days ago.

I sent my dad with my Fiance's passport and Blue sheet to Abu dhabi embassy this sunday (December 20th).

so after 28 days of administrative procesing the embassy tells my dad the visa should be the next sunday (december 27th).

I was under the impression that the visa will be stamped by maximum a couple of days delay but apprantly not. I guess thursday being christmass holidays adds to delays.

    my fingers are still crossed.

  11. That's good, at least one embassy cares.. Ankara doesn't care at all.

KGH no on AbuDhabi site there is no such thing. and actually the embassy prefered me to mail her passport so they can mail it back. unfortunately iranian prevents us to mail in the passport so that's why i sent my dad in person

    http://abudhabi.usembassy.gov/iv/faq.html

but embassy is clearly aware that folks have limited stay in UAE because of visa limitations so therefore they allow other to bring your passport for stamping visa.

This was even the case in 1998 with my dad's green card processing.

  12. You sent your Dad with Fiance's passport to the embassy?!!!

I thought your fiance has to be present at the time of handing over the blue paper with passport...

its clearly wrote it on the Ankara's website that for K-1, K3/CR-1 fiance(e) has to be present at the time of handing the blue paper, maybe abu dhabi is different, who knows!!!! let us know if she gets her visa

some times it takes 3-5 days.

  13. You might face only one problem, SSN office may not issue a SSN number if she is married to you, until you are done with AOS process.

becareful of name change, I was considering the same thing for my fiancee, but I end up giving up becasue then she has to change her name on her iranian passport/ birth certificate and etc. and is pain in the..... dealing with interest section of iran in DC.

if she doen't change it on iranian password, what if she decide to travel to iran, when with which name should she reserver the ticket?! correct me if I'm incorrect.

    Hi folks,

with the thanks to all the info I have read on this site and it's lovely Contributors we are finally out of woods.

my fiancee is finally out of Administrative processing of U.S Embassy in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). That process fortunately only took 25 days which is three days short of 2-4 weeks estimate the embassy staff had provided at the time of the interview.

I have already acquired marriage license from state of Maryland.

The county administering the marriage does not require her to have social security number.

does any one see any problem with me first having the marriage (getting that out of way since I have an appointment for it).

and then heading to social security office to get her a social security number.

I actually think this might save me some time because the name change occurs on the marriage license so i can apply for her social security card with her married name.

    any insight?

  14. you said is a long story behind this!! if you want any help you may want to start from the beginning.

Name Change is not fraud and any one can do it, unless you tried to make a brand new identity for yourself which that is fraud, no matter if you are married to a US citizen or any one else.

if I'm not mistaking I-130 is for K3/CR1 and and you needed to file I-485 for AOS.

but still I don't know the details of you coming to the US and staying here and your legal status from the beginning of coming here and staying here?

did you over stay your legal status at any time?

There is a long story behind this... few years ago, this lawyer's assistant "Bahram Tabatabaee" helped me with my green card. He made up a story and then changed my name for faster processing. I had no idea what he was doing since I was speaking the language and I was naïve. I got approved within 2 months and I was very happy but 1 year later USCIS revoked my card and put me in removal processing for fraud. I had to hire another lawyer "real one" to take me out from this mess. Then I got married and now I see judge for change of status and hopefully closing the fraud case and approving my I-130 with my citizen wife.

I got married in October 2007 and soon after we had an interview and it was approved. We are processing this case but the old removal case is also still open. When I get clearance, then judge will close the other case "hopefully" but we don't get any clearance...

  15. It happened to one of m friends too, he sue USCIS for unspecified damages and a month later they asked him to do another Biometric test and week later he had an interview and he got approved

why did you have to go in front of judge? did you sue them too?

do you have very common name?

when you say your I-130 has been approved 18 months ago, what do you mean of that, do you mean you had interview with USCIS and they said you are approved or you just had your Bio?

how did you come here? I bet is is not K1 or K3?

My I-130 has been approved for over 18 months but my change of status is still pending clearance of the background check.

I have been in-front of the judge 4 times already and each time immigration lawyer (ICE) says "we don't have clearance your honor" and then I get another court date. My wife is here in US (she is citizen) and we live together but how long this clearance supposed to take?

Please share your experience and thoughts since I'm about to loose it.

I also have been recommended to write a mandamus. Any good lawyers in los angeles area you might recommand?

  16. Make sure to call DHS, Embassy and your congress man and have them contact the embassy too.

He had his interview last week and he got his visa approved.

I was so happy that I traveled to celebrate with him.

But, he was celebrating with someone else. :(

Please help me to write a letter to withdraw my case.

"Please be advised that I, (MY NAME), have decided that my marriage will not take place within the 90 day period. I am requesting to withdraw K-1 Fiancé Visa for (HIS NAME) and my affidavit of support for case A000 000 000."

  17. Hi every one,

My Fiancée is coming to the US very soon, I know I have to wait about 2 weeks and then take her to the SSN office to apply for SSN and then get married as our state require the SSN to issue marriage license.

Now my question is, when should she change her last name? after filling for AOS or before that?

If is after getting married and before AOS, what last name should she use in the AOS application and other forms?
