Does anyone know on a good Internet phone that had good record keeping so you can use it as proof? I herd od skype but they do not have a very good record keeping.
I use vonage, works great and you can print out your call history

When some one refers to a 'touch' it simply means that when they check their online case status (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp) that the date of the latest update (fourth column) has a date after the original submission date. This 'touch' refers to internal processing done on your case. Some cases receive touch before they are approved while other do not (ie some cases are approved without ever being 'touched').
Also just an FYI for everyone that is waiting for their NOA2.
There appears to be a problem, or serious lag, in the online case status system. We received our NOA2 CSC 4 weeks ago (and the petition has been received by the embassy in Paris) and the online system still shows no updates for our case. The message still reads 'pending and received.'
Just an FYI.
Best of luck!
I looked it up and all i see is that its pending.I see poeple stating when it was touched.I was wondering if Im missing some thing. My k1 is in the Vermont center. And on a side note I really like this forums, its nice to see Im not alone in this!! To see other people getting merried and finly getting to be with there loved ones makes me feel like there is a end to this hell Im in right now.
thanks for any help you can give me Folks.

Yes I realize that, in fact I didnt intend to post that link. I did speak directly to a USCIS officer at the chicago office. (I am not defending my advice, I understand why it is worng, Im just shocked that it was given to me by an immigration officer)
Again I apologize
I apologize if this has been bad advice but I the advice that I was giving was given to me directly from the USCIS officer. I assumed that it was valid. I apologize again.http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1nrct-...passport-holder
It appears this person (referenced in the link) is not a USCIS officer but claims to be an immigration attorney...

When you arrive in the US instead of submitting your 129F petition ($455) and then waiting for it to be approved (could take 6 months), paying for the visa interview, returning to the US, filing for AOS ($1010), ect....... it was suggested that when you arrive (for a visit under the visa waver program) just get married within the 90 days that you can stay on the VWP and directly file for your Adjustment of Status (AOS). This has a few advantages it's cheaper (no need to pay for 2 round trip tickets and no need to pay for the petition or the visa) and you can stay!Oh boy. Big time Noobie mistake.
OP: DO NOT Pay any attention to this HORRIBLE advice!
The above is VISA FRAUD and not recommended AT ALL!!!!
LEGAL: File a proper K-1, K-3, CR1/IR1 petition
LEGAL: Enter the US on a legal non-immigrant visa with intent to marry; marry; leave the country within the timeframe of your visa; file a proper K-3 or IR1/CR1 petition while outside the US
LEGAL: Enter the US on a legal non-immigrant visa with NO intent to marry, meet and marry someone while in the US in legal status, and apply for AOS while still in US
ILLEGAL: Enter the US with intent to marry, marry, file for AOS. VISA FRAUD RED ALERT.

Basically you're correct (I'm assuming that this is a K1 Fiance(e) visa). After your partner (US Citizen) files the petition (you will need to provide some info.) it just become a waiting game. There is nothing that you need to do from Australia. But I might suggest something that was suggested to me by a USCIS officer at my local office AFTER we submitted our petition. This is both a less expensive and quicker process.

I am still a little confused on the process of this Visa! So my Parter files the petition.. then what? is there anything I need to do from Australia? or do I just wait until I get an interview? sorry! just trying to get a total understanding of this process!Basically what I am trying to work out if I can do or not.. is go there in May get partner to file the petition while I am there.. and wait the 90 days im allowed there, then come home. Can I do that? Or will there be things I need to do back home in the meantime?

Yup this is usual, same thing happened to us. I believe they only send emails when the status of you petition has been updated i.e. approved, RFE or denied. Our petition was approved more than 3 weeks ago and the petition is already at the embassy but there is still no update on the USCIS system and I never received an email.
Dont worry, It's normal!
Best of luck!
For infomy cases got touched on uscis (update date changed for both I130 and I129F)
but got not email
saw it when connecting uscis
is it usual?
Have a good day all!

No. First USCIS will tell you that you are still within processing times and that you will just have to wait. There is no rational for the way that USCIS processes petitions and 73 days is still very early in the process. I wouldn't start to panic till the end of the 4th month. Just hang in there, it will come. Also check your mailbox not the online system. Our NOA2 was approved 3 weeks ago and the online system still shows no updates.
Hang in there, this is the hardest part.
Should I call the CSC about my petition? This site is making me frustrated because every timeline that I look at from CSC has already been approved and I sent mine before they did! I'm on day 73 -
GREAT Post!!!!
Thanks found my petition!!!
you can track the package status. You can use the date after your interview was assigned or the day the operator that NVC says the package left, as the tracking reference date, and then do a search on DHL.The format to use is "EXP 07 OCT 2008A" don't forget the spaces...and to set the date range on the tracking page. The website for tracking is:
http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef
The package may not go out on the next day, but the reference code will still be for that date.
When your package is able to be tracked, it will make more sense.
You'll see a list of packages going to different embassies. You'll know which one is yours.

Our case was approved and received hard copy 3/24/09. I have gotten through that 603 number by calling at night and hitting the redial many many times and they haven't received our case yet. I assume its on its way.
My case was approved, received hard copy 3/25/09. Haven't heard anything!!!! I'm assuming its getting to NVC. I can never get through that 603 number ~ I don't know what to do either ~ -
We didn't use one and everything turned out just fine. The guides are fantastic, the people are helpful, there are example forms as well as downloads, and a wealth of knowledge and experience that's priceless. It's really whatever you feel comfortable with but it is a very doable process without an attorney.
Dear everyone, My finance is an American, and I speak perfect English. We've been together for 4 years. I wonder if I need to hire an attorny to file k1/k3 application for us.what the chances are if we apply on our own WITHOUT an attorny?
Does/did everyone here have an attorny to help you apply for k1/k3??
Thank you very much for your help. Looking forward to hear some advise soon.

I'm not sure what to respond for question 9 on the I-134 affidavit of support.
Question 9 asks: Have I previously submitted an affidavit of support for anyone.
I submitted an I-134 from my fiancee for a visitors visa a few months before we sent in our 129F packet. Her visitor visa was denied. Should I put that I submitted a petition on her behalf? Whats more is when she was at the embassy for the interview for the visitor visa the officer said that he/she didn't need the I-134, then denied her, and after asked to see the affidavit of support. My fiancee isn't sure if the officer actually enter it into the computer or just glanced at it to see if it would have made a difference.
I'm concerned because my salary is close to the 125% and I don't want to make any mistakes.
Please help. Thanks

First let me say that I'm happy to see that USCIS is working hard to clear the large backlog of 129F case as well as speeding up the approval process.
But with that being said, #######!?!
I understand that every petition is different and some take a little longer to process than others for various reasons but how can it be rationalized that petitions that were submitted 90 days after ours have already been approved.
Does anyone else find their processing a bit ridiculous. It's hard enough to be far from one's fiance(e) and this stress doesnt help the situation.

Don't get me wrong, Im happy for the december people that have just been approved
but it's irritating as well. I received my NOA1 at the very beginning of Nov. and still haven't heard anything! What the hell is going on there? I understand that petitions arent processed in exact chronological order, but come on! We've been waiting for 130 days and have had to watch others approved in 60, 70, or 80 days!
Get it together CSC!

HELLO EVERYBODY
HOW MANY OF US ARE WAITING FOR THEIR NOA 2 IN MARCH?
IF YOU HAD THIS MESSAGE :" YOUR CASE MAY BE ADJUCATED BETWEEN MARCH ....th AND MARCH ... th"
PLEASE LET US KNOW - JUST TO CHECK HOW RELIABLE THE PLANNED TIMELINES ARE !!!!
AND TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS STILL WAITING !!!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
Just checked our timeline:
Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 14, 2009 and April 12, 2009.
Hoping to hear good news soon!!
-
Lhumdullah! I received in the mail today our NOA2, dated March 3, 2009. We filed for our K1 on December 5 (received NOA1 dated December 8). Woo hoo. The California service center has been processing in fits and farts (what is the saying, spurts and starts?) for the last couple of months, so I was resigned to waiting another month or so, as we were 62 on Igor's list. But hooray!
Now it's time to wait for the letter from the consulate, and to picking Rachel's brain to see how Houcine's interview goes!
Good luck to all of you in whatever stage of the process you're in!
Rebecca
Congrats! Best of luck!

I really wish I knew. This is ridiculous! CSC has only approved 3 petitions this week compared to 17 from VSC! I'm crossing my fingers that we get approved soon

Although we aren't married yet I have bought my fiancee ticket on my credit card when she came in august and there were no problems. She only had to show her passport.
I've had others pay for my tickets before and I've paid for others. The only thing you need to show is ID to prove you are the person whose name shows on the ticket. I've never heard of having to show the credit card before. Call the travel agent to be sure. -
Our petition has also been in background checks since Jan 9. Neither of us have any notable background history except that 6 months ago we tried for a visitor visa rather than a fiancee visa because we wanted longer to plan the wedding. But the visitor visa was denied. I hope that doesnt mean that we are going to be in security checks for another 2 months.
Does anyone have a similar situation? How long did it take for your petition to be cleared?
-
Wow, I just read this thread! Looks like I'm getting a RFE, but I hope not. The only possible reason that I can think of to receive a RFE (but im sure that they will find something else) is because on the I129F and the G325A for my beneficiary's middle name I wrote N/A in stead of NONE
Has anyone done the same thing?
-
You included copies of your passport page with visa and arrival & departure dates right? You should be OK. If you are worried, search through all your paperwork at home (and ask him to do the same) and see if you can find other evidence, then copy it and keep ready just in case.
when i was in the US visiting him in the summer, i also bought a cell phone with a US number from T-Mobile. But I put my gf's address (who also lives in the US) on that cell phone bill. still good to include that cell phone bill?
also, does my us fiance need the long version of his brith cert? i think he only submitted a copy of the short form
you need to send the detailed version. our rfe was because of it. maybe you might be ok..lets hope! otherwise, get a long version ready just incase you'll need it.
NVC => Embassy .... taking too long ?

You can try to call the embassy but from my experience with the embassy in Paris it's a hit or miss kind of thing. Just because you haven't received anything from the embassy doesn't mean that something is wrong, it took 3 weeks for my fiancee to receive packet 3 from the french embassy. Hang in there you will probably get something soon.
