did they give you a timeframe?
No, no time frame and no information

12 days after our interview (approved) and still no package or visa from embassy..........
-
It's been 11 days since my fiancee's interview. Everything went well but she still hasn't received her passport from the embassy and when I call the Department of State they say that it is still undergoing administrative processing and that the visa hasn't been issued yet. I tried calling the embassy, I've left 2 voicemails. I've faxed the embassy, still no response. I dont know what to do. No one is giving me any answers.
Any thoughts?

according to Igors list my NOA2 should have been between april 23 and may 15 and of course we are now one month past that date.
it suggests calling uscis but in actuality will that do any good?
or should i wait til the dreaded 6 month time frame is up?
submitted the i-129f on jan 12 and havent heard anything other than my NOA1 on jan 14.
my petition is at csc.
my poor fiance is about to go insane and its getting more difficult convincing her that all is ok and this is just normal.
i dont see any reason they should deny our application, i make enough $ ,have no criminal record and never been married and my fiance has no problems either.
hmmm..........
thanks for any adivce.
No it doesn't help. This is all they will say "Received and Pending and your petition is still within normal processing times"

Its been a week since my fiancee had her interview. Everything went well but they still haven't issued her or printed the visa!
Come on, others have gotten theirs in 3-7 day and we're still waiting...........

What time did you try calling? NVC is in the Eastern time zone, so for example you tried calling them after 2pm California time, they WILL be CLOSED.
I tried calling them at 11:30 EST. I just called now and got through. Strange. Thanks! :-)

This seems very strange, maybe someone knows the answer.
I just tried to call the State Department Visa Help Line (202-663-1225 optinos 1,4,1,5,0) to inquire about the status of my fiancee's visa as I did yesterday and the recorded message said that the office was currently closed and to call back between 8-5 M-F except holidays. Well, its within the hours and not a holiday. Is anyone else running into this problem?? Whats going on?

Ola!
You only need to provide a criminal record for those countries that you have lived in for more than one year (since you reached 16 years of age, i believe). you should not need a a criminal record from brazil.

Hi all,
We finally got our interview appointment at the French consulate. They actually called my fiance's parents' directly to tell them about the date - not sure if this is normal protocol?
Anyways, we only have 2 weeks to plan for it - June 24th.
The consulate said they would send a packet to his parents' house next week. In the meantime, we're wondering about the medical exam - could he go just 24 hours in advance and pick up the blood test results the morning of his interview? Is that sufficient timing? What do you all recommend?
Wow - they really don't give you much time to plan; that's for sure!!
Thanks in advance,
Sara & Ludovic
That should be enough time. Nathalie had her medical the 2ed and her interview the 4th and everything was just fine. 24hours should work

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the NVC or Embassy/Consulate will send me (the petitioner) a letter notifying of me of my fiance's interview date or is there only one letter about interview date sent to the beneficiary? Also, will the NVC know of the interview date once it is set by the embassy so that I can call the NVC to find that out? Thanks for any help. ~Jan~
The petitioner will not receive any notification from the embassy but you can track the progress by calling the department of state visa line at 202-663-1225 options 1,4,1,5,0. This will get you to an operator. Give them your USCIS or DOS case number and they will be able to tell you if the embassy has mailed Packet 3 or 4, the interview date, ect...

Just wondering about this. As we all know....USCIS is lax (understatement) about updating our online status. When I have called their useless call center, the recording says that the agents will have no more info than we can get online. Is this true? I mean, nobody knows anything about our actual status?
I was also wondering if anyone has had any luck getting more info via calling.
-Blu-(our tax dollars at work.)
My fiancee has already had her interview and her visa has been approved but the call center and online case status still just states "received and pending". The information coming out of USCIS is completely unreliable.

For the K-1 Visa and entry into the US the vaccine is not required but it will be required for your AOS.
Thank you for the confirmation trailmix. There goes the engagement money we got from the relatives! -
Hi everyone!
I think that my fiance forgot to write our case number on the applicant readiness form for the embassy (the one in packet three) Is this going to be a huge problem? Should he fax another copy if so, or just wait to hear from them? Thank you in advance!
I don't think that it will be a big problem as long as he signed it.

The NVC sent my fiance a letter in the states on march 24th saying they were forwarding our case to the embassy in tokyo. That was a long time ago now and I have not received anything here in japan
To make matters worse I can`t seam to contact anyone at the embassy about visa related stuff.
If you know the date that your petition left NVC you can track the package via DSL. It should show the tracking and signature when it arrived.
To track DHL shipment of your petition from NVC to the embassy refer to this posting

Ok, so I applied for the K-1 Visa (I-129F petition) around February 20, 2009. I received a letter from the NVC saying they were going to forward the petition to consulate in Guangzhou on April 14, 2009.
So I have never actually received the NOA2. That's the unlucky part. I figured I'd give it a little more time. But I really need to get on the phone tomorrow and start calling.
Yesterday on May 2, my fiancee received the packet (I believe this is Packet 3) from the Guangzhou consulate.
This seems incredibly fast. I thought there was supposed to be a multiple months long delay through customs in China. That doesn't seem to be the case.
Now we are scrambling to get all the forms. I still haven't mailed her all the proof of our relationship I have or the I-134 Affidavit of Support information (because I am still waiting on my work to provide me with a letter, though I have tax forms, etc).
This is going incredibly fast. I'm planning a trip to China in July or August and I thought I would just be bringing her all the evidence then (so as not to risk international post), but now it looks like a real possibility that her interview will be before that.
Anyone else having similar experiences? Has the government cleaned up its act or something? Thanks.
Wow congrats!! That is fast!!

Hi guys,
I am so happyyyyyy, I received yesterday an email saying that the NOA2 has been approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok now I am nervous because I know I still have a lot to do....Where should I start?
Any help?
Many thanks
Congratulations!! Best of luck for the rest of your journey!

You should receive a letter in the mail from the embassy with your interview date. The interview date is typically a few weeks after you receive the letter. If you think that you should have already received it, I would call the embassy.
When are the interviews scheduled for in Paris, France? -
Hi everybody-
Is it possible to know the statut of our case at the US consulate? NVC sent our case at end of March and I don't still hear about the packet for the interview and don't know date of interview too.
Thank you in advance for your experience !
I called the embassy switchboard and asked to speak to someone in the visa department directly. It took a couple of phone calls before someone answered the phone but in the end I got through. Also, it seems as if the embassy in Paris is working a bit slow. It has been taking them at least 3 weeks to weeks to process the paperwork.

Well, you found a great site!! The guides are great and the people are helpful. You should be able to find everything you need here: guides, help and support!
Best of luck on your Visa Journey :-)
Hello, i`m new here. I am really happy to find this forum, and am reading lots of great info. I am applying for a K1 visa to the US so I can be with a most wonderful man that I met in Colorado. I found this site by googling for info on passport book numbers. Filling out the forms using just website info has been confusing, and I now have hope after reading here that this can be done. I was having my doubts. I don`t know why the process has to be so long and difficult. I now have hope I will actually make it through this nightmare! -
Hey,
For women immigrating to the US, the HPV (Gardasil) vaccine is required for women aged 16-26. This is a relatively new vaccine, so the majority of women will not have had it prior to their interview.
My question is: The full vaccine is a total of 3 shots, with the last shot being administered 6 months after the 1st. I have scheduled my 1st shot next week - will the US refuse entry until the last shot has been administered? Do we have to wait until all shots are given? My interview is JUNE 19th, so my vaccination will NOT have been completed.
This stupid vaccine could potentially hold up my move date.
Thanks for your help!
This should help...

hey guys saying i have all my documents ready for packet 3 how long would it take for the consulate in frankfurt to give me an interview appointment ....or maybe u can direct me to the right area...thank u in advance...lets go vsc
It depends, the average for Germany is 52 days ( http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?cfl= ) after the embassy receives the petition from the NVC. It is possible that the embassy would receive the petition about 2 weeks after you receive your NOA2. But again I stress that these are averages. Much beyond that, your guess would be as good as anyone. Best of luck!! Waiting is the hardest part!

If you feel that this question belongs to another forum, please move it for me.
Just a quick question.
DS-230 indicated that the system will apply the SSN on behalf of the recipient upon receiving visa approval. We plan to travel soon.
Do we need to go to the Social Security Office again in order to apply the SSN or the SSA will send the card to my wife automatically, because we listed the information in DS-230?
For the persons who arrived with CR1/IR1, please let us know by posting here. Thank you.
It was mailed to us. You can see in my signature. It was about 2 weeks.
Does the same apply with the submission of the DS-230 for a K1 Visa? Should we just receive the SS card in the mail?

I'm usually optimistic but after dealing with USCIS and now the State Department I don't think of it as approved until we have the visa in hand.
