I received NOA today showing Receipt and priority date November 26, 2008. Now I have a question! Where do i check the status online? I see on the application number NBC * and 9 digit number. IS that the number I need to check online? Also I was expecting it to be TSC does it mean it has been transferred? Please update my info as it is shown in my signature. Such as check cash and NOA.

Haiti, perhaps the USCIS has not yet entered your case into the system. I have an application number that starts with "ESC", which is for VSC even though my application was transferred to the NBC. I just checked my case online and it shows up, but there's no meaningful info. The msg essentially says that they got my application and it is in process. I entered "ESC*and the number".

Check the processing times at your local office, which will determine when (how quickly) you get the interview.

My approval letter came from the Hartford, CT district office. It was pretty similar to the example posted above and I had not heard from USCIS for many months post the biometrics. The GC arrived within two weeks. Check my timeline for exact dates. I wouldn't sweat it. Do agree that the letter does not look too official on the plain white paper without any watermarks or other features.

Updating biometric appointment details. USCIS working on a Saturday! That's good to know, despite having to change prior plans.

Hey my friend, I feel your pain. I mailed my stuff 11.03, also to VSC and guess what, since than nothing happen yet. In addition I tried to figure out the numbers from the copy of the check, that was mailed to them and cleared out, but cannot do it. We"ll be in touch.

Kasper, I don't mean to alarm you, but I did get my biometric appointment notice last friday for a 12/06 appointment. Honestly, getting the biometric appoint means little as the wait from now on, to hear from the Hartford office, will be many months.

Kasper, put your details on the "November 2008 Filiers" thread. The list will answer your question as it has timelines for Nov filers. You and I will be bringing up the rear as the Hartford office has one of the slowest processing times in the nation.

Yeah Lomeshp, July 2007 was no typo. I believe it is one of the slower offices in the country. The NOA1 says expect an interview notice within 212 days, which is 7 months. Perhaps they (Case transferred from VSC to National benefits center) didn't check the backlog in Hartford!

The online image of the back of my check is pretty illegible. There's a big "FOR DEPOSIT ONLY, VCS" stamp that cover some of the numbers on the back of the check. There are definitely numbers on the check, though.

Plus, I am in no real rush to figure out the case number as I settle back for a nice long wait to hear from the Hartford office. The website says they are still processing July 2007 N-400 applications. I am taking bets that I'll be the last one standing (watching this thread) unless another poor soul from CT joins us.

USCIS ought to be able to achieve the goal for N-400 approvals if they focus on the slower local offices. Hartford, CT, which I unfortunately come under, is still stuck on July 2007 applications, the website shows. That suggests a 16 month approval time, although I have seen VJers get approved in less time through Hartford.

Congratulations, Asid for getting your 10yr Green Card!!!

After such a long 11 month wait, you deserve it! It's good to know that the VSC is doing something, even if it takes a long long time. Too bad though, you couldn't get a refund for the I-751, as you only have the 10yr card for a short time now.

Oh well, onto the next stage of citizenship for you, Asid!

I enjoyed the 10-yr card for less than one week as I mailed the N-400 application today. I now have the pleasure of dealing with the 14 month backlog, which is one of the worst in the nation, at the local Hartford CT office. True value for my $675! Ant, you'll hopefully reach the finish line well before me.

Waiting for someone more tech savvy to start a "November N-400 filers" list/thread. Watching that list will be truely depressing as most will Naturalize within a few months and those living in CT and a few other states will be waiting for 12+ months.
