  1. hello there, is it really true that my american husband can petition my kids in Philippines as his stepchildren? coz i heard that my husband cannot petition them bec he need forst to adopt them before he can petition. i am a permanent resident here in US but not citizen yet, can i petition my children ? or do i have to wait till i get my citizenship? pls help merry christmas to all
yes you can start filing a petition to them, don't you ever wait your citizenship because it will take many years to approve by the NVC (charge to experience)

you'll be fine  i had san fran too as my POE (my first time to be here)... they will just ask you basic questions like the name of your hubby, the address that you're staying etc (factual Q's) finger printing/scanning and i think if its ur first time they will take a photo of u (in their webcam if im not mistaken)... anyways will take 5 mins top! i wish you luck and if you think you're confused on where to go etc, just ask the airpot officials and they will help you for sure... been to san fran twice now as my first and second poe... and my experienced was aok naman... i think a lot of us here on vj had a good experienced in san fran too!

    God bless and happy trip!

    thanks RonMay for the tips.

  4. Hey minang,

it has been awhile since i checked on here and i saw you had your visa delivered. Congrats and i am so happy for you :thumbs::) Where is your finally destination BTW?

sorry for such late response. Getting ready for my wife to come here. many things to do....hehe

    Have a safe trip :star:

VISA ON HAND!!!!! im leaving on friday!!!!
Delbros just texted "DELBROS Delivers! Ready for dispatch! Yehey! GOD IS REALLY GOOD!

Yeah, thanks Dphus. We"ll be leaving (w/ my 2 kids) on the 28, sunday. My destination is at San jose, California at my sis's place then after maybe 2 days we will permanently stay at my mom's place at Lathrop, CA. You know, when i got the magic text, my initial reaction is of course super happy but when the days passed i'm more emotional becoz he can't come with, he'll be staying here and he have to wait for his petition. :crying:
  5. Hindi pa ako ready, pati yang mga baggage limit na yan, naguguluhan ako.

The baggage limit is simple. 2 bags weighing 23 kg each plus or minus 1 kilo and one hand carry weighing around 7 or 8 kilos. What's hard is deciding what to bring with you in the US given these new limits.

    Thanks Jose Rizal, mwahhh!
  6. hi,

I have an economy class PAL e-ticket. am I correct that 2 check in bags, not greater than 62inches in dimensions & 23kgs each bag are allowed? & 1, 45 inches in dimensions & not greater than 7kgs for hand carry bag?

    thanks.

    Yup. That's correct. :)

Kuya Manny, PAL din kukunin ko pero problema ko yung connecting flight ko. MAg DELTA airlines ako kasi may bayad ang extra baggage. Allowed lang, isa! Kainis!

Ganun talaga. Wala tayong magagawa dyan. If you haven't seen the excess baggage rates of Delta, here's the link.

    http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/bag.../index.jsp#fees

KUYA MANNY! MAASAHAN KA TALAGA! Thank you!

Hi StephNria, kelan flight mo? my flight is on Dec. 28 PAL airline at 9:00 pm. Hindi pa ako ready, pati yang mga baggage limit na yan, naguguluhan ako.
  7. Hello fellow vj,

I Have concern... i have a friend that file her k1 visa...but she is not register here in vj jouney and she have question that i cant answer..so i am hoping some people can answer her question.she was exposed to a person that carrier and positive to tuberculosis. and wen she went to the doctor for check -up,and she got a skin test and x-ray...she was positive to the skin test and negative to her chest x-ray..is this can affect or detect on her medical ? knowing that she is negative and not contagious?

Now she take one pill today..but she really dont want to take it for 9 months bcoz she is so afraid for the side effects.. what

is the best thing to do? she is worried that mayb st.lukes medical hopital can detect that on her urine and blood test that she is taking a medications??

    .i

she is now 4th month for her k1-visa,and she will approve soon, and that is her big problem..the doctor said its optional..but she is really confused now...hope someone can give me a advice on this problem

Thing is, SLEC will do their own CXR. It will be prudent for her to tell the examiner at the Immunization history room as her urine will turn out orange when she goes for the urine exam. And tell her to bring her Xray.

Rule of thumg: when it comes to the visa process...do not lie.

Where exactly the annotation written?I looked for it on my son's visa and only find the "derv of Ms Unknown" written.Am i missing something/?Im really curious about this because my son went through a 6 month treatment for primary complex before he had his medical.SLec is fully aware of my son's medical history ..Im just curious why i cant find the Class A or B thing that everyone else is talking about..

talk about paranoia..hehe  please enlighten me..

    thanks..god bless

    it's in your visa
  8. Hi everyone... Got too busy the past few days, I am so into the 2,000 pieces of puzzle my brother bought somewhere hahaha!

I almost forgot my visa... Until me and my fiance` talked about the fares for January, it's too much my gosh! hahaha! But I seen something on January 1 that is still so cheap, ayyyy...

I wonder if USEM will still be having interviews on Dec. 22 and 23? My only hope now is that they don't do interviews anymore and just work on the pending cases... Yaaayyyy!!!

    MORE VISA DANCE hahaha...

don't worry jeffcloe, you will get your visa soon! Keep on praying!
  9. My son and I will be at Gold Condominium tomorrow to attend seminar PDOS. Could anyone had been through this and i want to know the requirements. They needed the Immigrant Data Summary. am I gonna bring the original copy coz it was stapled from my packet.Pls help!

Just bring your passport and visa, and a photocopy of each. Make sure you know your husband's mother's maiden name before you go. And you bring some money, even some extra, in case they ask for something else.

So I have to bring the xerox copy of Immigrant Data Summary? My problem is, it was stapled in my packet.

Hi pretty mommy! PDOS ko this coming Friday at 10:00 am at Gold Condominium. According to them I should be there 1 hour before the seminar because of the registration. How about pictures, are they gonna them?
  12. That's how it is. So be careful when taking it out of the plastic pouch.
So, it's okay to remove the plastic pouch?

Yes. There are two pouches. The first being delbros' pouch and the second the pouch coming from USEM. Just carefully open the second pouch so that you won't damage the visa packet.

Thanks Jose Rizal, napaka informative mo. Isa kang henyo! he he
  13. Talaga?! you waited 2 months?...........where do you leave ba?......When my fiance called the Manila Embassy and ask them how long he shoul wait for the vISA...they said 6 months  ...........But as i was reading the post here..it only takes a week.
My interview was Sept. 26, 2008 and i paid Document Verification on that same date. I waited 2 months and 2 weeks and 5 days! A long journey! God is really good!
  14. Don't worry bout it as long as the yellow envelope is not open you're good.

waitinginvain is correct. as long as the yellow/brown envelope is not opened, it's ok. also, don't be surprised if there's a notch at the corner of the envelope. it's also normal.

Hi again! I have another question sana hindi ako singilin ni Jose Rizal and JamesNrei! he he. I'm confused with my daughter's visa. Yung sabi Annotation** Class A or B (TB) Req. ATTN. of USPHS at POE

What does it mean? May TB ang anak ko! Is there any problem at our Port of Entry?

  15. Thank you very much for this info. Yes, I am a doc but when it comes to my child, the doc takes a back seat and the maternal instinct takes over. I still take her to the doc for a simple cough or cold, even if I know there is nothing serious, but it seems that I lose all my knowledge when it comes to her.

Yes, it was a good choice that you declined the option of giving your kids anti-TB drugs. These drugs have very notorious side effects and if it can produce effects in adults, how much more in children whose elimination system is not as well-developed as an adult. Is why I do not give my child any antimicrobial unless absolutely necessary, and most certainly not a strong one. Her immune system is pretty strong despite the frequent cases of cough and cold in the environment, esp in school. And she certainly does not lack appetite (she eats.....umm....3 meals and several snacks) which is the usual harbinger or Primary Complex or childhood TB. Was just alarmed by the annotation. Class A TB is infectious TB, after all, and would alarm anybody.

So, we wil have her go for a repeat X-ray once there, and whatever US Immigration tells us. Plus, we have reservations already and I am not so keen on a Feb trip....fares cost more too.

Again, thank you and have a very Happy Holidays!

Is the annotation on your daughter's visa really class A? if she has been given a class A annotation and she was not required to undergo sputum test and/or treatment maybe there was just a mistake. My kids had class B2 annotations which is not active, not infectious tb... and the recommended optional 9months tb treatment was just for "prevention" according to health department here, just in case the PDD positive result was not because of the BCG but real exposure to people with active tb... when you get here you just have to stand your ground. they read me some stuffs about tb and also the benefits of the preventive treatment (and only skimmed through the page on side effects  )... i cut them off, i told them i already studied what i could about my kids case, i told them also that my kids never had any history of primary complex, that we don't live in squatters area or depressed areas in the Philippines, that there is no history of tb in my family and my kids go to a private school where exposure to tb was lesser compared to public schools and if they would really insist on my kids getting the treatment, they should at least give them another tb test, the "quantiferon-tb gold test" (which is available to big city department of health facilities but not in small cities like ours here).. i know anybody could be exposed to tb anywhere in the philippines but i just have to say something so they would stop pushing for the so-called 9months preventive tb treatment. When i first declined, they went out and discussed something (2health workers), then they came back and went at it again, i stood my ground and said the stuffs i just mentioned, they went out and discussed again and then came back and had me signed papers saying i declined the treatment and told me that should i change my mind, i could go for it anytime i want to. They also advised me that since quantiferon tb test is not available in their facility, i should try to get the it in a private hospital or any hospital in the bigger city just to eliminate any doubts. (i really ought to, wala palang time to go there and wala paring budget) I just said, ok and thank you.

department of health office standards and procedures vary slightly from state to state and county to county, just arm yourself with everything you know about tb and your child's medical history and you will be good to go.

i wish you the best and have a happy holidays. (F)

dbears, my daughter's visa had also this in her visa Annotation Class A or B (TB)....etc, i just received our visa today and we are leaving on the 28th of this month. What will I do at the POE? Is there any problem with my daughter's visa? PLS HELP!
