  1. thanks for the info. i think i'll just put n/a since i know oour co sponser makes more then enough:) really i love this site cause it has helped so much. i've recomended it to a few people also getting ready to file. thanks so much for the help and if i can ever been any help please send a private message or my email is CandyAwad@msn.com

thanks:) just like wow he's already picking up his papers at the embasy and i'm not even getting the paper to him in the mail. well i've tried to mail it but ugg the mail is really stupid there. anyway thanks so much. really i think i can try and calm down a bit

i need help with the I-134. we have a cosponser so i'm not worried about showing 125% but i was told i still have to fill this out. i am recieving ssi because i'm not able to work at the moment. i have been taking some classes so i can get a job that i am able to do and that will support me. so question is where and what do i put down as income. im afraid they will think he will become a public charge. also i do have a house but i dont have any equalty built up and since we have a cosponser its not needed so thats the only things that could possibly even be put down :( please help he will have his interview sooon

and i am freaking out here

First, stop freaking out! That won't get you anywhere and you say you have a co-sponsor, so relax.

Your SSI is your source of income. Yes, you will also need to submit an I-134 and state that SSI is your income and show a tax return and any other income documentation you have. There is NO REQUIREMENT that you or anyone else "have a job", you need to have INCOME (or a co-sponsor) to qualify.

If you (and our co-sponsor) have income exceeding the 125% it is NOT POSSIBLE for him to become a public charge and THAT is the point. Verifying your income for the K-1 and later the AOS disqualifies you or him from receiving public "means tested" aid. No food stamps for you for the next ten years!!!!

SSI is considered need based income and they don't count that as income on either the I-134 or the I-1864. There is a section, at least on the I-1864 in the instructions that talks about that. I think if it is not used for the I-1864 the same would apply for the I--134. I also get SSI that is not reported on a tax return. You can get a print out from social security saying how much you get each year, but disability based SSI is not reported to the IRS. If you work at all then report that, if not then you can't include it. They will go based off of your co-sponsor's information

  4. ugg well im really wanting his interview but i hope it doesnt come within the next 2 weeks. first i am trying to redo the sponser form but not sure. ive already done it but all i did was put n/a on everything since i'm not working and have no assets (well i have a house but not really any equalty in it) also our co sponser is covering that. but the problem is i've sent 5 things to kuwait so far to date and nothing has made it. so i'm in the proces off finding what happend to the last thing. anyway i wont have the money so send anything else thru anywhere (dhl ect) for 1-2 weeks:( really i dont see why they make you do all this in countries that basically have no postal service. we are both really nervouse that we wont get it there in time. does anyone have any ideas?

    happy sunday everyone!!

Happy Sunday to you too...I am still jetlagged from my trip, ughhhh, just came home from mass and I need to be back to work tomorrow, hehehehe! I am really praying to have the Fiancee here by the 23rd of February, that's my birthday! hehe! :innocent:

    happy early birthday

  5. You can do whatever you want but uh... I have to ask... why? They will be needed by the embassy, so your fiance will have to get them from you by mail... also it might depend on the country too... I know in the philippines 157 comes from paying the visa fee at the bank, it's also available online but the bank has to validate it (I assume this is like notorizing it but I don't know). I believe the embassy will want ORIGINALS of these forms with her signature etc... so really I think it's best to let your fiancee fill them out....

The forms are in English right? Or Not? My fiancee does not know English, she would not be able to translate them and then fill them out correctly. If i am wrong please correct me, i don't know about those procedures. Thanks

dowload copies then fill it out and send it to her so she knows what to write. just make sure she makes a fresh copy herself so its in her handwriting and an original

  6. Is having a cosponsor as good as being as sponsor? I know that the primary sponsor should be the petitioner, but if a sponsor from the same house hold is fully dedicated for sponsoring, would interview people have have a problem with this? I have graduated from University past May and spend the last 6 months with my fiancee in Tashkent. After returning i found our economy to be in shambles. I am having a difficult time finding a job. But my mother is fully dedicated sponsoring my fiancee. She makes well over the require minimum. I hope this is not a huge problem. Please tell me your opinion. Thank you in advance.

from my understanding you still have to be the main sponser even without income. we are going to have to do the same thing since i'm not able to work atm

  7. ok im filling out the I-134 not sure why it seems kinda stupid since i dont have an income right now ( well i do but not an earned income) my question is this should i put down that i am recieving disibility and if so does it need an explanation? i was planning on going back to work after i finished school but i had a mild stroke and its been a little rough finding somthing that i can actually do. also i have my own house but since i've only been in it about 2 years there isnt much equalty in it so should i just leave it out (im thinking its going to hurt since its about the same as the income i would have to show ( well i have more income but its from family and childsupport) we do have somone that is going to be a co sponser and he should make more then enough without a problem. also since none of my kids are totally or even partially dependant on me do i still have to list them?

really im a little worried that we will get to the appointment and it will be denied.. then im not even sure how to handle that

has anyone actually dealt with kuwait that can give me some advice on how they are?

  8. it sounds like he's just worried about you.. just has a diffrent way of saying it i would guess. if he says it again just say love you too dad and leave it at that :)

Don't worry MARM.. if you *are* put in AP, you'll probably still get out to the US before me.

Feeling a little crappy this weekend. I miss my fiance so much since I left him last week.. and what makes it worse is the lack of understanding from family and some friends. My brother told me the other day that me and my fiance are "just a test" as long distance relationships don't usually work out, and in the past has said that we're not going to be together permenantly so I shouldn't interfere in his life, job etc.. it makes me so angry, especially since they've met and hung out together a few times.

    Ouch that's just harsh!

My dad has taken up a new hobby of bad mouthing anything and all things american, they are stupid, dont look after their own people, have no welfare system, have no jobs, don't know what red rooster is, have too many homeless people, have to many unemployed people, etc. Doesn't matter what it is but he always turns to me and finishes with the line "Why the hell would you want to live there" Or " We really are the lucky country, I know I wouldnt want to leave!"

Starting to drive me really nuts...

  9. my noa2 hard copy came today.. its kinda funny i asked my son to check the mail... we live in the country so he had to walk maybe 1,000 feet or so. he came in running and screaming my first reaction is somthing happend. so i was freaking saying what happend over and over and he was like it came.. i was llike im sooo going to kill you for scaring me. then i was like ok wheres the rest of the mail. and he was like oh i better go get it i threw it on the ground... haha he threw all the mail all over the greound to run it in to me. i was like ok the time to freak over it was the otherday when we got the email... now we get to stress over them sending it to kuwait.. ( haha one day he will learn)

  10. The Sydney consulate is really good (and quick) about responding to emails. I'd write them, explain your situation and see if you will need a co-sponsor. Don't bother calling them, you wont be able to get through to anyone who will help with k-1 questions.

    Email to: SydneyIV@state.gov

Also, I dont think you need to include tax info unless you are self employed. Just the letter from your boss, checks and statement from the bank and any info on assets.

annax hun lots of loves your way!! THANKS!

I believe that SSI is counted as income on your tax return. So that would be in addition to your wages. If that is so, then your wages + SSI(assuming it's more than the $1200 shortfall you indicated) would get you over the hump.

Do a search here on VJ reagrding the SSI. I would bet that situation has been experienced by someone else. When asking the embassy give them all the info needed to give you a good answer.

Don't give up. Think BIG PICTURE and tackle the obstacles. It's worth it!

when you file taxes you cannot include ssi... because it is actually a form of welfare

  11. Oh my god, Candy.. your recommendation to just give up WORKED.

I got this email 30mins ago.. I thought I was dreaming.

5 months today since we sent our app. I guess that's smack dab in the middle of the 4-6 months they say...

I think I'm going to do like Candy and just give up all hope... or make a hobby of writing senators....

has anyone done that? I know some people did. Is 5 months too early?

Uh... don't have a stroke? Too soon? *sigh*.. I'm an insensitive #######... I'm assuming you've seen a doc or you wouldn't know it was a stroke but what kind of advice did they give you to prevent it in the future? (I guess what's the underlying cause of it... diabeties, high blood pressure, etc)? Nothing is scarier than death... except when you realize that A: You can die and B: You're pretty sure it can be any moment (which is also a pretty powerful motivator to fix whatever issue you are having). Also congrats on the NOA2, it's a relief when it gets here, but unfortunately there is more waiting and it'll still suck (I think it sucks until you are back with your man/woman).

Anyway, it's only monday and the good news is starting, I am looking forward to more good news (I have heard nothing about improved cable... and I did demand it!).

scince i am the queen of 237 and im lucky to get my noa2 im sending the demands for the other noa2s to uscis...

    SEND EM NOW
